It's been so long since I read those that I'd forgotten about that. This is just getting strange. Anywho seems I need to re-read some of your stuff.

It depends honesty where you are from. If you are a Brit and a Swede you have an EXCELLENT FIRST RATE change of moving to Iceland. They respect people from Sweden and the UK so you should have no trouble to immigrate to paradise. I wish I had your luck. I cannot easily go to Iceland because I was born in the USA, so even though I speak fluent Icelandic because I was born in the USA I cannot fit into the European EU standards so it is harder for me to move to Iceland because I am American born. My mom was born in Europe so I could declare UK citizenship but she will not help me get a UK passport because she does not want me to leave the USA ever again. So all my efforts to move back to Iceland will have to be done behind her back.. sigh. I did not want that.

Thanks for the warning. I do this unintentionally which makes me feel even worse when I do it. I just have to add to previous posts rather than put new ones out there. I think if I were cut off from using this site it would be a hard loss for me. Probably worse than the other rain of destruction (even if it involves my mom telling me why I am such a loser because I like sci and fantasy)

Thanks for that, Coldy. That is my secret opinion, too. You have to be more open minded and intellectual to "get" sci and fantasy. My mom's theory is that I will scare off men because I like sci fi so much. It does scare off the uninteresting guys who like their women to be Barbie dolls, and that's a good thing.

Ahh, so cool sci fi intellectual guys have the same problem (Yea! Yea!)

For me it is not that I wield a sword but that I wield female uncool things like juggling balls and juggling clubs and horse trek tours and sci novels and mandolins. I even remember my Scottish mom scolding me when I was learning juggling:, "Ach, child, now NO MAN WILL EVER WANT YE EVER 'cus ye will be too weird for him. And if he finds ye love Iceland he will hate ye even more.. 'cuz proper women dinna wanna live in a heathen place like Iceland or the UK when ye could live in a nice place like Florida?" (where my Brit mom lives)

And @ BendersFan- you are a real COOL lady and I hope I can hear more from you in the future... yup we have the same problems. So many guys love sci fi but they all want the same .03% beauty queens in high school that all the guys love, so they ignore us very cool nerdy ladies. The good news is the guys who are worth it, do see us for what we are and want to be with us, so always keep hope... nerd guys are overall much, much more openmimded and athletic than than you would think. They just have to grow up and realize us nerd chicas are the cool gals to go after... I have seen it happen enough to know it is true, so never lose hope!

Your wife sounds like a very cool lady indeed- I am glad you two cool folk found each other. Is she the source of your various posts in Latin?

@Coldy- I admit I wear the short skirts and have th long sci fi list at after hours work events in Scandinavia since that is tres Nordique at the company where I work ( though it is a bitch to try to translate Futurama terms into Icelandic) , but in all honesty if I wore the same clothes and had the same sci fi list at American travel industry events I would be laughed out of the room. Nordic fashion is very different from the conventional fashion standards. You can be considered pretty with being curvy and even voluptuous in Scandinavia. In America, if you are not a beanpole scarecrow, you have no chance. And if you like sci fi you have even less of a chance.

It's big reason why I save up and buy my clothes over there even if it is expensive.

But I should add (if you live in the USA) there are also some great shops that specialize in clothes for women who are not Kate Moss wannabees. They are out there and have some lovely, romantic, sexy clothes for outdoorsy ladies who are not stick horse fashion models and are more feminine and full figured (the way most athletic ladies can be!) There are some great fashions out there that suit ladies like us! L.L. Bean and Lands End are two companies that make lovely, sexy fashions for outdoors loving ladies (and their outdoors loving guys) that totally respect the beauty of the female outdoor lady form. Check them out. They offer some lovely stuff and sometimes have sales prices, and they always deliver what you order on time.

I like to think the guys who write the screen plays for Futurama do check out these sites for inspiration because they want to be as real as possible. It never hurts to see what female characters are thinking....

I'll bite. (Considering that this is the first thing remotely on-topic in at least a page and a half). Probably someone who actually has siblings could answer this better (I don't), but I just can't see that Yancy ever really despised Fry. I forgot where it was said somewhere that he likely merely envied him for his more cavalier attitude to life; but it seems that their relationship encompassed fairly typical mutual rivalry, going by the little we saw of it.
After all, I doubt he would have named his son after Fry if he had harbored any real resentment.

It definatly is sibling rivalry Fry has something and Yancy wants it because he believe that since his youmger brother has it he deserves it. When we see Fry and Yancy together later on they seem to get along very well because both of them have matured to the point where they aren't having all the petty fights.

I have siblings that I really hate most of the time but deep down I guess I love them. I know that would come out if one of them dissapeared like Fry did. Some siblings all they do is fight (me and my brothers and sister, I can't get along with them for a second, maily because they call me stuff like bitch and slut..... I don't see how this is loving but onwards) As I've experienced with my friends and their siblings and and my siblings friends and their siblings, it just tends to be the way they tell eachother they love eachother with out actually saying it.

Arch's already heard my ramblings on the subject, and I doubt he wants to serve witness to them a second time. Bendersfan1221 has already said what would have taken me two pages to explain anyway.

ETA: Incidentally, I'm the oldest sibling in my family and I'm also the sibling that everyone else ganged up on. I know they love me, but the way they treat me now that we're almost all adults is vastly different from the way they treated me when we were growing up.... It probably helps that we've moved away from each other.

I think the Yancy thing is mostly jealousy. In its simplest form it's Yancy hating his name and wanting Fry's. This is just the subconscious base for alot of the stuff that happens. You also have to take into account the fact that all the flashbacks focus on times when Fry and Yancy are fighting. We don't really see the whole picture just the part that pertains to the episode.
