I always thought the best Fry and Leela moments were from seasons one and two. (not including The Sting) It's alot more two sided in the earlier episodes. Leela seems more open to the idea when there isn't the constant preassure of "will you go out with me!?!"

I think I've brought this up elsewhere (99% sure it wasn't here, though), but I really like how Fry and Leela interact in any of Ron Weiner's episodes. I don't know if he did it intentionally or not, but they always seemed at their closest there: certainly not in a romantic sense, but at least they acted like friends.

I have a much easier time believing that Leela will eventually give Fry a proper chance when she treats him like a buddy, rather than an annoyance she happens to work with. I wish the other writers had explored their friendship more, if only to prove that, yes, she does enjoy his company on some level.

Oh, and this shot, of course:

(This is regarding My Three Suns)... Aww man, I LOVE that episode! It had beautiful scenery and music and shows the power that adult animation is a possibility ... but it's also the episode where Philip J. Fry starts to mature from a selfish guy into a good friend ... and that's a very cool thing since the show carried that theme on into future episides. Sure, he could be a dork but he could also be a nice guy. This episode showed where he started to mature into the guy he wanted to be..

I think she enjoys his company alot. I mean he's definitly her best friend. It isn't as much that he's and annoyance but that is efforts to "woo" her are.

Damn straight it's annoying. I don't why she puts up with it. If Fry want's to get anywhere serious with her, he should get a position of power.

Leela loves people with power.

I shall resolve not to say "Duh!" so often, and to refrain from reminding people that the things they have taken pains to explain ad nauseum are already common knowledge to all and sundry and such explanations have served no purpose but to elicit groans of frustration.
In this way I hope to make myself less abrasive to others.

Uh huh.

Cold one, what you need is a sarcasm-shunt:
A handy device to convert all that pent-up sarcasm harmlessly into thermal energy.
I'd offer you the use of mine excepting it's still glowing bright orange with heat...

No, but that episode did show the depth of Leela's friendship with Fry. She did give him a "Good Luck Kiss", she went into the sewers with Fry to search for something I'm sure she would think as being silly. She was going to help him rob a grave, but her very last line in the episode did show more than a little caring about Fry.

"Bender, I think Fry needs some time alone."

It's a pity that that display of caring was so inconsistant throughout the series.

Point.

And I also agree on that last bit. You could conceivably call the "lack" of caring tough love, though.

Also, not enough full-frontal nudity.
