Zoidberg needs some love too. You can't really ship without two people, and Zoidberg is lonely. This is why not many people do ship with him. Also, I wasn't on the Shipper's list in the first artile with which you edited, but on the shipper's list from the second.... of course I don't know what you consider "active".

Edit: TOTPD. Let's watch the clips *rolls shippy footage*

Zoidberg never finds true happiness.

Bender called him 'the lobster equilevent of Fry' but the truth is that even Fry gets dates easier than Zoidberg.

(The TARDIX wheezes in, sounding like a 1975 AMC Gremlin trying to start on an extremely low battery)

(The door opens, and The Good Ol' Country Doctor hops out)

(He locks the door with his sonic screwdriver shaped like a pipe, then turns to face all the pretty shippers)

(He tips his imaginary hat)

Hallo, yawl! I've a just been glancin' over this here thread, and I've done deemed it worthy of a few shippy quotes an' all that standard kaboodle an' whatnot. So I've been scourin' over hell and half o' Georgia, and here's what I done come up with.

There I think we are, yes indeed. Now, ain' that awe bringin'? Yes. Ain't it the truth. Ain't it awesome...

An' a shippy quote, for that doubter or two-

(Glares at somebody)

- Yes, I mean you-- Who's been thinkin' thoughts to the con-ter-ary...

Thanks. These aren't pockets, they're just flaps. I put my money in my sock.

[Giggles]

Levity that Leela needs, no doubt 'bout that, none a' all, nope.

Now, if you'll all 'scuse me, I've got to be goin' now. I've gotta make it to a 'Coronation Street' premire in the year 6580.  (It's s'pposed to be the best season eveh, you know...)

Pax vobiscum, yawl!

(The Good Ol' Country Doctor bows slightly at the waist towards the gentlemen and tips his imaginary hat towards the ladies)

(He swirls around and unlocks the TARDIX, and enters)

(It wheezes into nothingness)

(A flutter of wind passes down the silent thread...)

Also, you have great timing my friend, for you see I was going to post that first picture you just posted. It looks like Leela's a little jealous...

Hi, a  question that I think is shippy related, and I don't think has been fully covered in these forums.  During the episode "The Sting," Leela opens a box of
Memories of Fry, listed in this link.  I've always assumed that the items symbolically represented significant milestones in the Fry/Leela relationship (as considered by the writers).  Easy ones:

-Daisy from Why of Fry;
-Candy heart from Love and Rocket;
-Magnent from "Series has Landed," recalling that very nice lunar lander bonding moment;
-pi-in-one oil can, reflecting the nice kissing scene and Fry's rescue of the crew in "Insane in the Mainframe,"
-Emperor of Trisol spoon, recalling Fry and Leela's first major fight in My Three Suns, and where it is shown that the only thing that makes Fry cry is the loss of Leela--(and getting slapped in the face, stomped on the foot, etc.  ;)).

But I admit, the Slurm can and Fry's moustache defeat me, because they are related to episodes that I never thought as being significant Leela/Fry relationship milestones (in fact, Cryonic Woman is really an anti-ship episode, where Fry can't even recall how he first met Leela!).

Can someone more obsessed with minutiae than I share some thoughts (or refer a thread) on how the last two objects might logically fit in? (and yes I know it is just a dream sequence, but hey...)

I suppose the shattered vase from "Parasites Lost" or "Time slippin'" would have been too sensitive a memory.. but I'm a little suprised nothing from the "Titantic" or "War is the H-word" was in there.

Thanks!

Well, the Slurm can could reference Fry and the Slurm Factory, where he fought off the mind-controlling effects of the super-slurm to save Leela. In Cryonic Woman, Fry (however spinelessly) managed to leave his manipulative girlfriend, and matured on some level by the end of it.

And as for references to other shippy eps, I can't think of a symbolic trinket from AFTR, WITHW, or PL. Wedding rings from TKOS would be way too forthright. Also, for Leela, PL and TKOS don't really have any of the good connotations we get to see as viewers.

Love all the new pics posted by the seemingly drunk Xanfor, and Fry and Lemon.

the can of Slurm could also be there just to remind her of him because that's what he drinks constantly. A lot of memories could somehow be connected to one can (in my thinking patterns, something as simple as that can get me to a subject I had forgetten earlier on, perhaps a question's answer, perhaps an improtant event with which was stored somewhere if the "temporarily forget" files of the brain). How a moustache is really important is really kinda a hard thing to answer. I don't recall him ever having one in an episode, but I admit it's been a while since I watched an episode (shame on me, I know)so could have easily forgotten.

Although one wonders if that box of trinkets actually exists outside of Leela's dream daze in 'The Sting'. I'd hope it does.

Also, having watched TMNH today, it seemed to me that there was some role reversal at the start between Fry and Leela.

Fry: "My God! He's gonna do it! Everybody, seatbelts to maximum buckling."

"Uh, aren't we looking for your gargoyle?"

Seemed awfully large and in-charge, not to mention unusually rational.

Leela: "No! No! It's tasted human blood!"

Struck me as something Fry would say. Anywho, it could just be me.

Surely you mean TMLH, Sine?
I wouldn't think it would be the sort of thing that Fry would say because he doesn't know too much about the future yet, and he probably wouldn't know what the teeth would do after they'd tasted human blood...?

Drunk? Who's drunk?

What, me? No, no. I've been high on chocolate before, but never drunk. That was just my alter-ego, The Good Ol' Country Doctor. He's a bit like me, actually, except that he has a heavy South Georgian accent instead of a slight cockeyed Cockney. He travels around in his Time Machine/Spaceship called the TARDIX, and uses it to visit great moments in television and literary history. That's how he knew FuturamaPac was going to post that framegrab. Right now I think he's watching the return of 'Keeping Up Appearances' in the year 14,685. I'm not sure though... He can be a bit protective of his schedule...

Because he can. You see, Deca, Coldangel_1 will actually reveal himself in time to be a quite devoted shipper with deep insights into other people's relationships. Like all of us, he will reveal his deepest and innermost thoughts on love and affection. However, in a stark contrast from the epicene (as in effeminate) posters of HopelessShipper, and of course, myself, Coldangel will deny ever having actually cared in the matter, and thus will attempt to fall back onto his fluffy and presumably pink cushion of machismo.

It's purple actually. And it's to support my lower back, nothing more.

I've reminded myself of Leela in 'Kif gets knocked-up a notch'. I'm donating sperm to a lesbian couple, some friends of mine who want to have a baby. Weird thing... but I've divested myself of all responsibility - the child will be theirs, I'm just helping them start a family of their own.
This isn't about anything shippy... just felt like sharing... it's a pretty big thing, been on my mind a bit.

Anyway... if Fry and Leela became a couple, I imagine Bender would become jealous and dejected again.

Same as with Seymore, and when Fry got his own pad. Tough and brittle though Bender may be, he's surprisingly dependent upon Fry, perhaps as an affirmation of humanity, a moral barometer, and his only real friend. Bender was suicidal before he met Fry.

Fry and Leela get into a serious relationship, maybe Fry even moves in with Leela, Bender'd be left high and dry, feeling abandoned and unwanted. It'd be an angle to build a story on anyway.

That's an arc that I'm sure that the POWERS THAT BE have in mind.  The series (which was never cancelled) stopped before Groening and company could run all arcs.  The last season you can tellthat they rushed the series to close a lot of arcs.  I'm sure they deliberately left the last episode as indefinite to the Leela/Fry romance in case the series somehow got reserected.

There's so much security around the new eps and the DVD's it's almost insane.  I would not be surprised to see another Leela/Fry arc in which they get serious with each other leaving choas with the rest of the cast.  Bender would show his cruel manipulative side to derail the romance, just so he could yell in glee:

"NOW I'M ALL YOU'VE GOT!

That's my opinion, and should be yours too, and probably already is!

As interesting and in character as that scenario would be, Bender is also the one who orchestrated Fry's deal with the devil, so I don't know whether he would try and undo his own work or not.

I claim copyright.

Realistically (a word that shouldn't really be used in discussions about a cartoon) if Fry and Leela became a couple and moved in together, one of them would really have to get a different job... otherwise they'd end up spending 24 hours a day together and inevitably drive each other insane... Plus there's also the complicated dynamic whereby significant others are superiors/subordinates in rank aboard a spacegoing vessel.

You will find that human beings all inherently loathe one another, but because of the weak clan-based dynamic in our makeup we are unfortunately forced to associate due to necessity - for survival. Life partners are not people we 'love', just the ones we hate the least. Make no mistake though - there is no bliss involved, and two people can never spend ALL their time together - they'd kill each other after the unreleased contempt finally boils over.
