They'd know better than to go too far on that first date. I mean, come on! Their pheromones may have been driving them crazy, but they're still responsible persons... Aren't they?...

She refused to kill Nibbler in exchange of Zapp saving their lives. However, around the time Cubert and Dwight were introduced she seemed more laid back. At the beginning of The Sting, Leela seem less rational when she went along with collecting bee honey. She would've questioned about this mission if it were done in the first season. Of course The Sting would've been less entertaining if that were the case. Originally posted by Ralph Snart:
Maybe both Leela and Fry are maturing and becoming more comfortable around each other.
Leela is beginning to lighten up because she now has a job she enjoys, a position of power (Ship's captain) that she's never had and friends that accept her as she is.
Fry is seeing that acting mature gets a positive response from Leela and it's his life's ambition to please her so that she'll see him as dating/mating material.
In Leela's Homeworld, Fry is the person that she opens up to, pouring her heart and soul out. She would never do that with anybody else.
In 300 big Boys, she and Fry are seen sitting together and acting like close friends having a casual conversation. Later, Fry uses his caffiene-induced super speed to clear burning room of the entrapped people (Leela first, of course) and extingusihing the fire.
In Spanish Fry, Leela is the one who is in charge of finding Fry's nose and she's the one who tries to protect Fry from Lrr (to the point of singing a Whitney Houston song - bleccchhhh!)
In Devil's Hands, she finally sees that Fry does have a beautiful inner soul that she had never seen before and she was angry and ashamed at herself for not seeing it before. She was the one who stayed and asked Fry to finish playing after everybody had abandoned him.
They weren't out of character - they were slowly maturing and growing closer to each other emotionally.

I think it wasn't very long. There was the first time skip which took them to the wedding. They're surprised to see themselves there. Then there's another time skip where Leela sticks the flowers in Fry's mouth, obviously angrily. Leela wouldn't have done that if the huge time skip hadn't occured and the wedding would have ended happily. So after the time skip that took them to the wedding, they were brought back to the time where they could only remember back to moving the stars. This laspe in memory stuck, so Leela was now angry at Fry because she thought she had tricked him. The next time skip to the divorce would have taken place shortly after, because I assume the reason behind it was Leela angry at Fry for presumably tricking her. After the time skip to the wedding, the whole memory of how they got together was erased forever. ...er, i hope that makes sense; it's kind of hard to explain...

What Venus said...
In fact, Fry has said [that he loves Leela] so many times that she'd probably roll her eye and say, "Get over it, Fry." ---------------------
I doubt that...because he doesn't actually SAY IT to her that often. He told her in Parasites for the first time, and he told her at the tail end of her coma, but I don't think he's actually said "I love you" to her face-to-face at any other point...he wrote it in TKOS, but she didn't see it, and a love note (even one written in the stars) is still not "face-to-face." In fact, he dismissed those very words as "too conventional" when perusing candy hearts, right in front of her...(wonder if that had anything to do with her unusual grouchiness about the issue throughout the rest of the episode... )
Sure, he often asks her to go out with him, but in "Time Keeps On Slippin" and even in "Devil's Hands," he only says the "L" word in the context of making Leela love HIM. Most of the time he only refers to his emotions indirectly - as in "how I feel about you" or "my feelings for you." Without the worms, he he only seems able to say "those three little words" in a note (which is still indirect)...or to a Leela who's comatose!
This seems pretty tragic, because look how she reacts when he DOES say it to her: she brought him home in PL, she married him in TKOS, and she awoke out of a two-week coma in "The Sting."
Wouldn't it be ironic if it turned out that all Fry had to do all along to "make Leela love him" is just say right out that he loves her...?

What is it with the shippers these days? They've lost the blind faith, they have!

For the past... Long time, I've been avoiding this thread because the word "deep" scares me. After being linked here from another thread, I realized that this thread actually makes me smile way more than cringe =D
Wish I could contribute, but I'm not smart enough. :P
