I think what makes it so good is that he never 'really' wins leela - you can tell they like each other but it is though it is not ment to be I think it would make Futurama crud if Fry and Leela got married, engaged or even properly together. I do want them to get together but it seems sweeter that they never do ... also - coldangel1 & fryandlemon - love the pics - wish i could draw that good!

I wonder if they will be married or engaged or something...? I hope they aren't. Fry is cool as a single guy. LOL...anyways, what are your thoughts? Yeah, that concern has been kicking around. The general consensus has been that we would like to see what's gone on in those intervening years. It'll probably get covered by flashbacks. Personally I think Fry will have done something stupid and they'll have broken up shortly after the opera, so he'll be back once more at square one.

Yes. Me too. Might be a curveball though. They did say they'd release fake storylines just to keep folk guessing.

Even so, it's a gap. Futurama has much more continuity than The Simpsons... and the characters actually grow and change, so there is a greater sense of time.

Sexellent. Continuity is the large-bore syringe full of pure adrenaline that keeps my heart beating.

Change is inevitible in all things. To resist change is to resist the flow of the Universe, and that leads to death in one way or another.

Hi, I'm new here, just got into Futurama about a week ago (but I've already bought & watched all of the episodes). Just concerning Fry and Leela growing closer in season 4, I think a big part was the ending of "The Why of Fry." Before then, Leela seemed to have an ideal of who the perfect man would be (foremost someone with power and importance. Her date that night made her realize that her standards were faulty, and allowed her to start to accept Fry. From then on, she struggles with her growing feelings for him until TDHAIPL.
Now, in TDHAIPL, I think a big question is whether Fry's holophoner work actually made her see something new in him, or provided her an excuse to let down more of her barriers against him. I'd like to think it's the second, but the first is just as probable given "Parasites Lost." As for where they go from there in the DVDs, I think they might be together, but probably will have dated, broken up, and slowly come to getting back together, but that's just speculation.
Hope that wasn't off topic and sorry it was so long, I just needed to get that off my chest.

Watching TEN News tonight; there was a story on Nuclear Power and the roport showed a montage of household power uses. One of the visuals was a couple of kids watching Futurama.

Regardless of weather they were technically 'dating' (something Leela was obviously reluctant to admit), it can't be denied that they were very much closer than ever before. The apparent double-date in 300 big boys is indicative. Leela wouldn't have called it a date, but that's basically what it was.

Heh, Fry's caffinated Matrix-ish state of high-speed Nirvana was very cool. It was about time Captain Yesterday got some new superpowers.
