Heh... goth wankers irritate me. My sister hangs out with a bunch of them, and so I'm occassionally foced to listen to them piss and moan about their 'pain'. Makes me sick. Fuckin' pain?! Of course, CA. I see goth as a style - mostly of clothing, and some meanings (uch as in the movie 'The Crow' and the like if you know wht I mean), I don't care about the people that try to practice it.

Remember the Goth kids in Southpark - that summed it up all. But they looked kinda cool - from a distance. 

The power of the artist is to be able to juggle his art no matter what the subject, especially to detach from him/herself and be ale to also draw things he/she detests at times. This has happened so many time in history with great artists (and not only). Think of Michelangelo (as a quick example) and the things the Pope made him do. Genius work, but he hated it - he wanted to sculpt, the Pope made him paint, and so on..

I tend to wear a lot of black myself - since I ride motorcycles I wear a lot of leather to protect me from the eventual contact that my body will have with the road.

If they do get married, it will disgust me less if they have it quiet and small. Otherwise it'd be like they were trying to be show offs trying to have the bestest party of the year proving to everyone how in love they are because they got the biggest cake and most expensive decorators or whatever it is they have these days. Get married in the ship, and exchange slurm cans.

Meh, I'm being mean but you use big words here. I'd say 'not care' is good enoug - 'disgust' is really too much, let people do what they want as long as it's good clean...life.

My Gen (X) appears to still marry and have babies, irrespective of their location - or maybe it's just how we choose our friends? Yep, some are gay but still they marry and... adopt.

She teaches the kids reading writing and arithmatic, in a very progressive and effective manner. Matrimonial values are the domain of the parents and nothing to do with her. This implies that she does express her views? And this is fine with older students. Because in the senior years of high school, it's great to have a debate with your teacher over a controversial issue. But I know when I was in primary school, I took everything my teachers said as fact, no matter what it was.

I am sure Maz is a fantastic teacher, I have no doubt in my mind.

And I definitely don't have a problem with Maz expressing her views here.

T'will be the younger ones..but kids under 12 have opinions too. At least if they're aware that there are other ways of thinking about things, they have the chance to decide for themselves what they want to think. I would never try to force my own beliefs on them, what I said was only a general thing, say if something comes up in class. Kids do brings these things up themselves (not exactly the same as what we're all on about here, it could be any issue), and they will argue between themselves. I need to be prepared for that. I'd prefer not to change the subject, if they're arguing/discussing it it's obviously relevant to them and therefore the perfect learning opportunity. Eeew...I'm supposed to be on holidays.  They'd barely hear anything from me, it'd be their own ideas, and research...if they get into it. It's all about investigating and creativity these days...figuring things out for yourself. I wish my curiosity for things had been scaffolded.  The point is, if they ask for my opinion, I'm not going to lie, but I'll be clear that it is only my opinion...and I'd only answer to a point I felt was apt for their level of questioning.

I guess it could be on topic...Fry and Leela need to know there is thought behind what the other does, and if they can only come up with one possible reason, e.g "Fry's only doing these things because he wants sex" then their actions will be detrimental to them getting together.

I lost my post just now (a sigh of relief in the audience) but Cyber's post has everything I intended to say. So I second that.

Also, I commend Mrs. S for coping Joel's flak that was probably aimed at me (since I threw the pebble that started the tsunami). Interestingly though, no-one appears to realise my initial post also contained a 'Meh, I'm being mean'. So it was deliberately provocative to spark debate.
