I think this is where this should go...and i'm not sure if anyone's asked before, I didn't see it in the past posts....So, here it goes. What song (current/old/musical/etc.) reminds you of your favorite character or characters?

Me personally, I think "Mr. Cellophane" from Chicago represents Zoidberg pretty well, as far as his relationship with the Planet Express crew goes, anyway.

I might come up with one for Bender later, I can't think right now. -_-;

The Evanescence cover version of Korn's Thoughtless reminds me of Leela a little bit.

I kinda think the "Asshole Song" by Denis Leary sorta reminds me of Bender.  Denis Leary admits to being an asshole in the song and in "Amazon Woman in the Mood" Bender admits to being a jerk when trying to prove that he's a man-bot, not a man. With the lyrics "I drive really slow in the ultra fast lane", I could just envision Bender doing something similar just to annoy people.

And for some *unknown*   ;) reason, whenever I hear Funkytown, I think of Morbo singing Kareoke.  I can't stop laughing!

"Somewhere Out There" by Our Lady Peace reminds me of a Fry/Leela romance.  "I miss your purple hair..."  Coincidence, maybe, but there's a lot more that reminds me of Leela's past.

Plus, there's an old-school dance song by Liquid Todd and Dr. Luke called "Zapped!"  No kidding--I heard it on the radio a few weeks ago.  The song even has the sound of a woman having an orgasm on it.  600 quatloos to anyone who can guess which male character that dance track reminds me of. ^^

Just about every song I can think of reminds me of a certain character from now and then.

Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life" and "My Immortal" remind me of Leela.

Outkast "Hey Yeah" reminds me of both Fry and Bender

Air Supply's "All Out of Love" reminds me of Kif.

Madonna's "Die Another Day" reminds me of Futurama characters--in their spy form actually--but still Futurama characters.

Blink 182's "All The Small Things" reminds me of all the fun things the PE crew have done and "First Date" reminds of Fry and Leela's relationship.

Smash Mouth's "Allstar" reminds of adventures the PE crew has done.  "I'm A Believer" reminds me of Fry and Leela's potential relationship.

That song and the following:

Keith Sweat's "Nobody"
Jon B's "Pretty Girl"
TLC's "Red Light Special"

Beyonce's cover of "In Da Club" reminds me of both Amy and Leela.

Thread thread is sort of similar to this one:

I did a fan art picture to Suzanne Vega's "Queen and the Soldier" as it reminded me of F&L's relationship sometimes.

At one point I was making a Futurama fan video, I started but never finished. I used bits of Eels - Beloved Monster, because Leela is a sort of monster really "she will always be the only thing that comes between me and the awful sting"...there's a perfect scene for that line  :) and another Eels song.
I was going to make a fan video of scenes from the devils hands ep, plus some shippy/mysterious scenes for Phantom of the Opera (techno remix) for Leela's perspective
Also, Aqualung - Strange and Beautiful for Fry's perspective.

Hmmm, crossover time, maybe. Zoidy would make a great Amos

There's a song I heard on my sister's CD that sounds like a Fry-singing-about-Leela thing. It's called, "Drops Of Jupiter" by Train. Anyone hear that?

Hehe, I've actually -thought- of drawing Zoidberg dressed as Amos in that part. ^^; But I need to A.) work on my Futurama art style, and B.) find a picture of Amos in the Mr. Cellophane getup. Working on A, but have no idea in hell where to find a pic of it. I think i'm gonna have to rent Chicago and screencap it. ^^;

And "The Asshole Song", Bender-Is-Great? Lol, I couldn't of thought up a better song for him.  :D

I know, that's why I said I have no idea why. I thought about it and possibly I was listening to it while drawing one of my few scanarts and they became stuck with that connection.

"Uptown, Uptempo Woman" by Randy Edelman always let me think about Fry's tries to win Leela's heart.

My favourite "Leela-ish" songs are "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra and "I can't let Maggie go" by Honeybus.

"Walking on Sunshine" by Kathrina and The Waves is of course the "Fry-ish" song without any doubt.

... and for the Bender fans: "Bend it!" by Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich.

Does anyone know on which song Hermes' "You Gotta Do What You Love" is basing? I've heard it once in an episode of Clone High, but with a bit different lyrics.
I'm somehow sure the song should be from the 60s or early 70s.

"Female Voice" by Danish band "Big Fat Snake" remind me of Leela, and Fry's love for Leela. Mainly the chorus though.

Oingo Boingo's Weird Science and Thomas Dobly's She Blinded Me With Science, both remind me of the Professor.

Chicago's "Your the Inspiration" and Peter Ceteri's "Glory of Love" both remind me of Fry and Leela's romance.

[Fry]Hermes?[/Fry]

"19-Something" by Mark Wills (I'm not a country fan ... it was on the radio when I was getting my hair cit the other day) reminds me of Fry.  Listen to the song ... he's singing about growing up in the 70s and 80s (specifically, the part about the Challenger tragedy reminded me of Fry the most).

I'm sure there are more ... and now, because of this thread, "First Kiss" by They Might be Giants will probably remind me of the Fry and Leela relationship.

Fry: Walking on Sunshine and The Hustle

Fry and Leela's relationship: This song a girl wrote in the Pantene ProVoice contest called Only Fooling Myself and I'm with you by Avril Lavigne. Why? Beacuse one day I was on The Leela Zone checking out song parodies when I saw a parody of this song about Leela wanting Fry,but Fry not wanting her. And ever since then that parody is stuck in my head.

Morbo: Funky Town

I so wanna find a song related to Bender, but I can't think of any right now.  :(

Drifting Away by Fastball reminds me of Fry. "My brain is too soft, my money's no good. I tend to get lost, just walkin' in the neighborhood." And it goes on with the lovey stuff too. Great song, BTW.

I listened to the rock version of "First Kiss" today, and the line "you could tell me we belong together / and i could tell you you belong with me" reminded me of how much Fry and Leela belong with each other.

And because it took them so long to get a proper first kiss, reference the chorus to said song:

how 'bout another first kiss, she said
how 'bout another first kiss, i said
i want another first kiss like this
how 'bout another first kiss

You might be a shipper if ...

It reminds of Bender dancing!

The song 'Walking on Sunshine' obviously reminds me of Fry.

'Lady' by Lenny Kravitz reminds me of Fry and Leela and it would be a song Fry would probably play for her.

'Dead Bodies Everywhere' by Korn reminds me of Bender and his dream to "KILL ALL HUMANS"!

'Mr. Roboto' by Styx reminds me of Roberto.

'I'm Not Your Stepping Stone' reminds me of Kiff and Amy, especially in the episode Kiff Gets Knocked up a Notch.

'Funky Town' reminds me of Morbo.

heard "love macine" on the radio and thought of bender.  That was BEFORE it was on the show. scary  .
Also, whenever Fry looks wistfuly at Leela, I'm reminded of some celtic song "Carolan's farwell to music." so sad.
