Well we all know that Fry's life is based on taking Leela's heart but, I'll include it on the list anyway.

What would be/is the best relationship?

Leela and Fry.

His total commitment to win her heart makes it win. I didn't saw any of that in the other relationships (unless you consider Zapp's advances as total commitment to win Leela's heart)

Basically, what I am asking for is, What would be or is the best relationship.
It doesn't matter how hard they have or havenīt tried to win each others heart.

Fry/Leela.  They fit well together, and even though they still disagree with each others styles, they also compliment each other as well.

Zoidberg and Edna couldn't work - Edna died in the mating ritual, remember?

I'm voting for Fry and Leela. Nibbler's "She must be the other" comment in The Why Of Fry really just confirms that they were meant to be together - whether or not there was a reason listed.

Yes, I voted for Amy and Kif.

::gets beat up by the shippers::

Wait, hear me out... Yes, Fry and Leela works, but it's because they're written for eachother, it was always the intention of the Futurama staff for those two to get together at some point. Amy and Kif came by chance, a little joke in "A Flight To Remember" opened up an entire new door for these two characters. And I for one think it worked pretty damn well. Gave a bit of depth to the two characters, and even help dillute the overabundant F/L stuff a bit.

As long as it's kept along the lines of "Amazon Women In The Mood", "Where The Buggalo Roam" and "Kif Gets Knocked Up A Notch" it's really great and sweet, but once they start turning Kif into this pathetic, blubering lapdog (see "300 Big Boys" for a prime example) I frely admit it's pretty horrible. But usually they did well with them.

Fry/Leela is the most developed relationship, but I'm sure that Kif/Amy is about as well developed given that it involves two less prominent characters.

I like Amy and Kif but I also like Leela and Zapp.  No one would ever suspect that Leela might actually fall for him.

I voted Fry and Amy because I love that episode despite them breaking up and if it wasn't for Fry and Leela fitting the story so well I think they would be perfect for each other. It just probably wouldn't make for really interesting watching I guess.

I would have to agree with the majority here, the Fry/Leela relationship is the best written and gets the most coverage. My favourite by far.

Sometimes Leela/Fry relationship makes me sick.
It's so prototypical, (woman rejects man.)
And it's not as "moving" or "sad" either.
Well that's IMO, but I know people prefer them.

I of course voted for Fry and Amy.

As seen in PYHOMS that relationship worked out great and contained everything;

  • Sex
  • No standards to live up to
  • They where compatible
  • They had fun

With Leela I bet it would have contained high standards to live up to and Fry wouldn't be able to live up to these.

They would have been more like dog and master instead of equals.

Yeah, but that's what makes it interesting. Leela and Fry both have something to teach eachother, whereas Fry and Amy were basically friends that had a fling. If you see it going much further, that's fine, but I know I can't.

Yeah, Fry could teach Leela how to relax and Leela could teach Fry how to be a picky bitch.

I would prefer to have a fling with a friend rather than being someones bitch.

But for all I know that might be Frys fetish.

I still think Fry would be better of with Amy.
Or maybe someone new and completly different.

I wouldn't say that Fry has a fetish, just bad dating habits.  Look at Michelle.  Now there's a bitch.  Fry is used to being treated that way.  Fry's relationship with Morgan Proctor had a similar dynamic.  It makes sense that he would be attracted to Leela.  Leela is a lot less demanding than Michelle, but there is still a whole master and servant thing going on there, and that is not the basis for a healthy relationship.

The healthiest relationships that Fry has had were with Amy, and with Umbriel.

I think the Fry/Leela on it paramount. I mean it is a major storyline in the futurama story and is thus very important.

I also think the Fry/Leela thing is also a good story. I mean Fry tries so hard to put his feelings into words. And everytime he gets close it's snatched away from him by cruel fate. And then at the end of Devils Hands he finally expresses his love. And it seems the battle is won.

*sigh* i've had my shippy fill for the night.  :)

The Bitter Truth
1. Kif/Amy - Boring
2. Leela/Fry - Boring
3. Prof. Farnsworth/Mother - Nice touch, but eventless
4. Zoidberg/Edna - Ditto
5. Zap/Leela -   :laff:
6. Amy/Fry - Boring
7. Bender/Femmebot - Eventless
8. Bender/Ship - Boring
9. Female Bender/Calculon - Good idea, but boring.

One more set of bitter truths:
1. Kif/Amy - Should be a background thing. KGKUAN was too much.
2. Leela/Fry - This is the one I voted for, because I think they both might need each other. Leela just doesn't realize it (until the end of TDHAIP?)
3. Proffesey/Mom - It seems they're both more happy together, and Mom abandons evil scemes for the time being.. Just spare us of the intimacy..
4. Zoidy/Edna - Don't care. But it might destroy Zoidy's personality (and by destroy I mean improve- you know what I mean)
5. Zap/Leela - Noooooo. Those who vote for this should be neutered/spayed/etc. He does NOT diserve it.
6. Amy/Fry - Well, we know Fry's not ready to take it to the next level. The level of "hanging out", so that's a no.
7. Bender/Femmebot - I assume this is the leader of Amazonia, so this would be a yes. Bender married to the ruler of a planet of Amazonians... hmmm.
8. Bender/PE Ship - She's insane (in the insane way), it wouldn't work out.
9. Female Bender (Coilette)/Calculon - That would make Bender gay (not that I'm opposed to gay people, it's just not Bender)... I know he became womanified by the new oil, but still, his feelings were more of the "I don't want to hurt him" variety than it was love. So a no to this one as well.

Kiff and Amy!! I can't understand why everyone finds this boring. It's the best in the show Kiff may not be as hunky or buff as the men Amy usually dates but he truly loves her and is a sweet and smart guy.

Somehow my intuition says me there was already something like this, but that was "between the episodes" ...

Leela and Amy?  No, I don't think so.   :nono:

As much as I like the idea of cartoon lesbians, I just don't see Leela and Amy as a couple.  They don't really get along that well.

Amy and Leela more act like siblings, if anything. Support eachother when needed, but  make catty remarks and are a bit at odds otherwise.

Leela\Fry, all of the others just don't fit together, it can't be Bender\Ship, Leela shut down her brain and bender broke up with her.

Amy\fry won't go too well either because Fry broke up with Amy.

So Amy and Fry?   :nono:

I was never really intrigued with the Amy/Fry relationship, though I know a lot of people were.

The Fry/Leela relationship kept the show going. Even now, when I have seen all of the episodes part of me is always going "Come on Fry, you'll get it someday."

It's always seemed to me that Fry & Leela were meant ('designed') for one another. That is, through a suitably long & circuitous(?) plot-line they'd eventually (read FINALLY) wind up together.
Sadly though, now we'll probably never know for sure *Sigh*
I'll shut-up now...
