Just Chris gave me the idea in the thread about Hermes insulting Zoidberg.  We need a Hermes dedicated thread to talk all things good, perhaps bad about my favorite Futurama character,  Hermes!

So discuss.... um'.  What are some of Hermes' best quotes, insults, and his family.

My favorite quote has to be...
Leela:  Hermes I didn't know you liked Nibbler!
Hermes: What, I'd like to tie the little bastard up in a sack, throw the sack in a rive, and hurl the river into space!  But I do like filling out requisitions and these are some doozies.

I also want to see more of LaBarbra his wife, and Dwight his son.  We have not even been formally introduced to Dwight yet.  What does the Hermes house look like?   *breathes* OK I'm calmed down now, I get excited when talking about Hermes   :laff:

I thought the bit tonight with Hermes putting his different times of sweat into folders was really funny!   :laff:

His shining moment was limboing on the Titanic. He hasn't really done much since that episode.

I have to agree with The Baz about wanting to see more of his son Dwight. After seeing "AOI 2" I'm really curious to find out about his personality and the way he interacts with the rest of the characters. Of course we would have found out this season in "The Route of All Evil" if it wasn't for Fox ending it early

Hermes' great. I mean he is beaurocratic and so am I ... a little. When you are from Germany (like me)it's not easy to be not beaurocratic  :p
I miss Herms' nice Jamaican dialect in the German translated version. There would be enough good German dialect sounding nice like Jamaican English.

I like Hermes song from "How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back" that was by far the best song I have heard in Futurama.

You can even download the mp3 from  http://www.gotfuturama.com/Multimedia/MP3Sounds/hermessong.mp3  ;)

Are they changing something about Hermes' character in the last few episodes? He appears somehow different to me - his character and his voice.
Especially in the Sting and 300 Big Boys. To me he seems to be less jamaican and intelligent but more evil (Farnsworth parabox).

Hermes defientely had an evil streak in "The Farnsworth Parabox", both with the gun and when he had to think for a few seconds before he decides not to blow the box (and the PE crew) into the sun.

Then again, he's been that way toward Zoidberg since late season 1. I guess he's just expanding.

In The Sting at Fry's Funeral Hermes setting fire to fry's timesheet and Labarbara says:
"Oh husband, can't you go anywhere without lighting something?"
Have we missed all of Hermes pyromaniac moments?

No, that was a reference to the "all Jamaicans smoke lots of pot" stereotype.

I find the Hermes situation a bit of a puzzle. We know he essentially runs the Planet Express Company for the professor, yet we also know he answers to the central bureaucracy - they can demote him, promote him, fire him, etc. So are we to assume in the Futurama future, capitalism is will be alive and well, as long as you hand over the day to day operations of your company to a government bureaucrat? And does Mom have to do so also?

I love his stuff in Hell is Other Robots (1ACV09)

Hermes: As this shocking graph indicates, our electricity consuption is rising faster than a green snake up a sugar cane. Obviously somebody round here been wasting a whole heap of juice.  Probably... you! (points at Dr Z.)
Zoidberg: Me?!

Hermes: And, as a further cost-cutting measure, I have eliminated the salt-water cooler.
Zoidberg: This is a witch-hunt!

And in Why Must I be a Crustacean in Love (2ACV05)

Leela: I wonder why Zoidberg is acting this way. Out of all of us, he always seemed the most normal.
Fry: Maybe he has a parasite.
Hermes: Maybe he *is* a parasite!

It's just great when he's mean to Zoidie!
Yes, I'm a sadist - deal with it!  :laff:

"Great Jah's dredlocks!"

And what's the line when he says something is "gettin' on my and my nerves" or something like that?  That's great.  I'd like to see more patois jokes.  Phil's accent isn't really that good, but it winds up being so funny.  LaBarbara's accent is great, though.
"Jus' go on tru and hit di release, you hot dog."

Edit: It's 2ACV07, he says "get out of my and my sight" when he asks himself for a day off.

I wish the rastafarians I know were more like Hermes.  Then they wouldn't come knocking at my door waking me up at 3 AM looking for a ride to the Greyhound station...

That pissed me off.  Just venting.

Gotta double post.  Hey, where's everyone else?  Doesn't anyone like Hermes anymore?  Anyway, Bend Her had some great Hermes moments.

"Jamaicans have other interests! Which is why the limbo team got detained at the airport."

or

"I described it to them on the phone, using a series of artful euphemisms."

Solid!
