How come Adult Swim doesn't show Futurama on Thursdays and Saturdays anymore?   Now it's only on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.  Anyone else notice that?

Yah,I was mad.On thursdays,I have to help my mom at her work(she works in a daycare),Cause I'm homeschooled. With all those screaming kids(they're about 2-4 years old,and I'm 13)I use to enjoy coming home and watching Futurama.I think they're slowly taking it off the air. What do you think?

Damnit! It doesn't come on on Saturdays anymore?!!? WTH are they thinking!?!? Inuyasha?!? They always show old episodes and I hate that show anyway, along with all anime/manga.. Edit: @ Bender: Well, maybe so, since it used to be on at 10pm central every night except Thursdays, then moved to 10:30pm central and was on Thursdays, now it's off Thursdays and in its place it the crappiest show in animation history, American Dad. I rate that show only higher than My Dad the Rockstar simply because that show sucks more than AD, and I've never seen a full ep., just a commercial.

Thursdays is for repeats of the new shows that premiered on Sunday. Saturday is now exclusively anime.

Honestly, how worked up can you people be when you've all seen every episode multiple times and own the DVDs? It's not like you'll see something new that extra night.

Edit_ I just noticed they "replaced" Futurama with FLCL. That's a trade I'm more than willing to have.

I think this was inevitable, since Adult Swim has gradually been adding more and more new shows.  They needed Futurama on every night when they didn't have many shows to begin with.  Now they a bunch of successes, and potential successes, so they don't need to show it quite as often.

And really, why haven't people bought the dvds?  Just buy them.  You don't have to sit through all those awful commercials, and you'll be supporting the show's movie comeback.

DVD's are important, but it was also important to show FOX that it is capable of maintaining a solid TV presence in syndication.

Exactly. Though I own all the boxed sets and the Monster Fun DVD as well, I still watch it on tv to rub it in FOX's face, when I'm not too tired anyways..

True enough...but I think Futurama has still established itself as a big hit in the reruns.  They're just taking off one of the reruns so they can fit some of their other shows in.  I don't think there's any real reason to be concerned at the moment.

Even though I don't have access to [as] (or even reside in America), I'm not too upset about this. IMO it kinda cheapens Futurama (or any other show) if it's aired too frequently. It generates an aura of "a dime a dozen"-quality or a "we're gonna whore this show to you 'til you puke"-mentality.

Showing Futurama less frequently might even prolong it's attraction with regular viewers. Plus as mentioned, [as] constantly aquire new shows and to show them old ones have to give. I don't see why Futurama going from 5 to 3 shows/week should be cause for alarm.

Iunno... I usually freak when any show I'm used to seeing on most nights get re-arranged. Just because I can I suppose, no real reason. Teral, I've always wondered how you got that avatar/who drew it. (whichever half of the scentence is easier to answer)

i agree w/ teral, no cause for alarm yet.
just as long as they don't change it's time to like midnight or start completely changing its schedule.
those are the tell-tale signs a show is almost dead.
is the monster fun dvd worth the $?

Zed85 made it for me many moons ago. That is, it started as a piece of fanart, which he later modified into an avatar.

When Futurama was dropped from Thursday nights they started playing eps on Saturday nights on TBS (CN and TBS are both owned by Time-Warner), so in reality Futurama is getting a little more exposure by being aired on a channel that doesn't show exclusively cartoons.

For my TBS, it's never on, of course my stupid cable company may have something to do with it. @ Teral: Oh, thanks for telling me.  :)

*ahem* @ 11:00, there's a NEW episode of Inuyasha, and @ 11:30 there's a NEW episode of Fullmetal Alchemist. Those are new episodes, so they haven't come out on DVD yet. Meaning we anime fans have NOT seen those episodes multiple times. Just to clear things up. I'm very upset about Futurama getting booted off Saturday as well. (Trust me, even though I'm an anime geek all the way, Futurama is still my absolute favorite show.) But don't take it out on the anime, OK? We fellow geeks can all get along just fine, right? I think it's great for them to show new anime episodes on Saturday, but I wish they had kept Futurama on, too. Why can't they just get rid of the old anime reruns, like Cowboy Bebob or FLCL and then put Futurama back on? Then we could get the best of both worlds, eh? ^_^

@ Professor Zoidy: Doesn't Futurama come on really late on TBS? I remember my friend saying something about Family Guy, or it may have been American Dad, but either way, it was on at, like, 2 am! You need your sleep!

I dunno. I looked and never saw it on...Maybe I missed it, or maybe it wasn't on that night. Anywho, yes I need sleep for lousy school.  :finger: <-- to the school. If only they'd have a Futurama hour on Saturdays.. That would be cool.

Yeah, and it'd be nice if they could put it on earlier. I mean, it DID used to be on @ 7:00. Which, granted, would be a stupid time, but at least I wouldn't have to sacrifice my REM sleep. (I'm a morning person, not a creature of the night. When it gets past midnight, I'll be out like a light.) Woah. That rhymed. O_O

I'm the exact oppisite. I'd stay up really late, and I never can fall asleep unless extremely tired. My friend's worse than me staying up until 1-3 am then having to get up before six am fpr school. I go to sleep around 11-12pm, or later if I've been lazy.  It'd make a lot more sense to be on @ 7pm though.. 7_7

I don't go to bed either till about 11pm or 12pm.And I can't ever fall asleep. And I agree it would make more sense to have it on at about 7pm.

Since they moved it to ten, I can fall asleep @ 10:30, and not worry about staying up too terribly late.

Well, you lucky UK bastards get the DVDs uber-earlier than we in the US do, so don't be complainin' to us!
[Professor]Aw, I made myself sad now.[/Professor] T-T
On that note, if (or rather, when) the DVD movies come out, will the US get them at the same time as the UK? 'Cause it seems to me that both contries should have the same release calendar. It's only fair. n_n
