Hey, jerkberg,(I feel like I'm calling you some kind of derogatory expression!), I still drink coffee and caffeine drinks not to those abusive levels- no more than 2 mugs of coffee in a 24 hour period. Two mugs are about 24 ounces of coffee(or Three 8 ounce cups of coffee). And no more than 4 Vanilla Cokes. That's still abuse to me and keeps me up for a day and a half to two days when I drink that much. So I try to not abuse my caffeine rations too often!! I'm going to go rewatch the Raging Bender episode to see if I agree with you about it reminding you of PEEL.[This message has been edited by HYPNoBRECKY (edited 02-10-2008).]

The episode itself had nothing to do with PEEL. It's the fact that "Raging Bender" has been the "classic episode" for as long as anyone can remember.

Yeah, I'm going to watch the Raging Bender episode anyhow---For, for homework as a noob in the PEEL organization, yeah, that's the story I'm sticking to for now- till you start torturing me then, maybe, I'll give you my REAL reason for watching the Raging Bender episode; that's only if torture is involved. I think this reminds me of an old Futurama episode. I'll have to watch the oldies to name the exact one!! You see how I brought it around to the subject of the thread- ain't I amasin'!! Don't answer that!! I'm afraid the pliers and car battery will come back out!! [This message has been edited by HYPNoBRECKY (edited 02-16-2008).]

I know that smell that Don Pettit speaks of, too!! I took arc welding in High School, tenth grade. Boy, I had a whole whoosh of memories flood back on me just conjuring up that smell from my memory banks!! Who needs Smell-O-Vision, just jump into an airlock and take a space walk- then scratch and sniff your clothes for that wonderful odor!! Maybe the arc welding smell is the smell of the oxygen missing from a space. [This message has been edited by HYPNoBRECKY (edited 02-16-2008).]

[*Toing*] I wonder if this phenomenon has any bearing on using the smell-o-scope, or its operation (IE. 'under the hood')? quote: Originally posted by HYPNoBRECKY: Maybe the arc welding smell is the smell of the oxygen missing from a space.
Umm...- Oxygen is odorless, therefore its presence or absence is too.
- Vacuum (IE, space) is the absence of matter.
- Just as without matter present to support those vibrations (longitudinal waves) our bodies perceive as sound, vacuum cannot suspend particles, molecules, whatever that our bodies perceive as smells.
Therefore:
- The aroma Mr. Pettit describes must be something the environment of space deposits on the suits, helmets, etc., that, when diffused by air, our bodies sense as a particular aroma.
I'm anything but an expert in welding, but I understand the by-products of arc welding include metal fumes, oxides, ozone, and so on - many of which might be present in near-Earth space, and combinations of which could produce the aforementioned aroma.[*Crickets chirp*] Ahm... [*SC clears throat*] ... yeah... If anyone cares, I'll be under my rock...

Maybe the space deposits burn off in the presence of introduced oxygen. Thanks, that makes more sense, Spacecase!! quote: Originally posted by *SpaceCase*: *I'm anything but an expert in welding, but I understand the by-products of arc welding include metal fumes, oxides, ozone, and so on - many of which might be present in near-Earth space, and combinations of which could produce the aforementioned aroma.*

Has anybody seen the rock Spacecase is under?? If you wash off the dust, I think it's the biggest Diamond in the UNIVERSE!! Even bigger than the one the Native Martian Bug people flew away with after kidnapping Amy!! Huh? Huh? It pays to crawl under a rock now and again!!

Erh? That question is evidently based on the incorrect assumption that Venus is currently under the same rock as I. quote: Originally posted by HYPNoBRECKY: Has anybody seen the rock Spacecase is under?? Ozzy Osbourne was exiled from Texas for quite some years for peeing on the Alamo when he was drunk and high in his youger life, JBERGES!! The state just, recently, welcomed him with open arms to perform his conerts in Texas once again. He wasn't trying to make a political statement like the British guy in RIGA, Latvia was doing; he was just "under the influence" and needed to pee!!
