I personally have not read “Paradise Lost,” but I have it on reliable authority it is an epic story of rebellion, failure and transformation.

I will not now inflict upon you a long, dull, analysis of the story. If you're at all interested, I refer you to the Wikipedia articles on “Paradise Lost,” or John Milton.

If you’d care to read it, you may find the complete text at Dartmouth University college >.< whatever, the Gutenberg Project has their downloadable versions one, and two, there’s one at the New Arts Library and Public Literature.

Or if those are a bit much for you, here’s a study guide - like ‘Cliffs Notes’ or the ‘Readers Digest Condensed version’.

Have I bored you to tears yet?

Then my work is here done...

EDIT:

Whoa! TOPD!

I used to listen to an internet radio station that had Bender's "let the dancing begin" in the opening...thing... for their weekend countdown

The song Surrender by Billy Talent reminds me of Fry and Leela.

I swear there was one more involving a book I read yesterday but I forgot. :/

The opening part of Disarm by The Smashing Pumpkins. The bells sound a bit like Futurama's opening theme.

Great one, Xanfor. I listen to the song Selfish and think of how Fry keeps trying to win Leela's heart. It really does describe the relationship that he wished to have with her. It's up to you to find out which song with that title is the right one... There's always more than one song called the same thing nowadays...

I watched that in my science class last year myself. That's the best part of the whole thing, but I do agree with the movie and it's points.

Anyone seen the new Babylon 5 DVD? The scene set it New York reminds me a lot of Futurama, especially the bit where Sheridan nearly gets hit by a flying cab.

A local radio station uses a clip of the Professor saying "I have a dramatic announcement" in between songs during station ID.

I brought in Crimes of the Hot for my science class because we're doing a global warming report in there. I gave the episode to my teacher to watch over the weekend. He said, before I left, that there'd probably be no problem with it and that we'd watch it on Monday.

Well, Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea (the 9th movie) reminds me of Futurama.

Basically, the Pokemon Ranger in the movie (Jackie) has a voice that's VERY similar to Zapp Branigan's voice! LOL. XD

I don't know who did Jackie's voice, but I wonder if they've seen Futurama and if they were possibly inspired by Zap Brannigan's voice. ^^

Actually, it would've been hilarious if Jackie had said some Zap-like lines in the movie. Hehe, that would've been great if he was seen hitting on that one girl whom he reported all his information to (the girl who didn't have that big a role in the movie, I forgot her name). XD

In the making of featurette, they show DiMaggio reading some lines - before all the electronic editing, the Brute Chieftains sound a lot like Bender.

Hmm, this is a good one. Apparently, there is a 2000 year-old precursor to the board game "Snakes and Ladders" called Leela, the Game of Self Knowledge, played during Buddhist times in India.

I came across it reading about the newest Rush album, Snakes and Arrows.

There's even a book about it.

There are so many references and characters in Futurama that it's hard not to be reminded of the show on an almost daily basis.

I can'hear Rush, Black Sabbath, Katrina & The Waves, Foghat, Led Zeppelin, Jefferson Starship, Beck or Cylon & Garfunkel without thinking of the show.

On a recent trip to San Fran, I actually made sure we walked by the Sir Francis Drake so I could see where Bender stayed. When we went to Fisherman's Wharf, all I could think was Fisherman's Worf.

The show has even begun to supplant memories of the things that it parodies, so that when I see the Jetsons, it makes me think of the Hip Joint. When I watch Star Trek TOS, every genius reference in "Where No Fan Has Gone Before" comes to mind. I finally saw the classic James Dean movie "Giant" and realized on my own that the Wong's house is based on the one from the movie.

My girlfreind took me to her friend's wedding. Her married name was Wong, and the two of us kept whispering "you've come to the Wong place," laughing hysterically each time.

So obviously, I'm looking forward to the movies because I need some new references to feed on.
