I'm curious if anyone out there has compiled a list of all the Futurama references/appearances on The Simpsons?  I know there was one in the episode where Mrs Krabapple and Skinner were going to get married and Milhouse asked Matt Groening to sign his Bender doll at a sci/fi con.  And I'm sure Bender made an appearance at another sci/fi or comic book convention too, but for the life of me I can't remember which ep it was.

And there was another episode from last season when a kid commits suicide by jumping off a cliff screaming: "WHY DID THE CANCEL FUTURAMA!!!!"

Bender has appeared twice, once as one of the FOX workers taking calls in the episode where Homer becomes a missionary, and again in the episode where Bart becomes addicted to the new satellite dish.

This is all I got:

Treehouse of Horror IX (AABF01)-  Halloween credit: David "watch Futurama" Cohen

Mayored to the Mob (AABF05) -  Uter wears a Futurama t-shirt at the convention

Missionary: Impossible (BABF11) - Bender appears in the pledge drive at the end.

HOMR (BABF22) -  Fry appears in the couch gag.

Bart vs. Lisa vs. 3rd Grade (DABF20) - Bender is in Bart's hallucination.

I, (Annoyed Grunt)-Bot (FABF04) - Bender's name is among the tapes of robot battles

My Big Fat Geek Wedding (FABF12) - Milhouse has a Bender doll and MG draws a picture of Fry at the convention

Catch 'Em If You Can (FABF14) - Futurama poster in background at video store

Fraudcast News (FABF18) - Squeaky voiced teen yells "Why did they cancel Futurama?" before jumping off the cliff

I have a list of all the Simpsons appearances on Futurama as well(not all typed out, though), as well as matching screen shots for all of them... for some reason I just decided to compile the list one day... I don't know why (that's the kind of exciting life I lead, people...).

Do the Simpsons comic books count? I saw a Futurama poster in the new   Halloween comic on the first page.

I find it interesting that there have been almost as many Futurama references in the past season as there were when the show was actually on the air.  Verrry interesting indeed... Oh, and I'm going to laugh at SJM now. Ha ha ha.

What do you mean this post was a thinly disguised excuse to gloat? I am offended, sir!

On the Simpsons episode where Homer is Pie Man, Bart says something like "They should have seen it coming, if you sign a contract with Fox you're bound to be screwed." and it reminded me of how Futurama was cancelled.

Well, a lot of shows on FOX made not so inside comments about how FOX sucks.  Married...With Children did it all the time, and that was 15+ years ago.

the weird thing that may have confused people on that is that treehouse of horror IX aired in 1998. I had to tell someone at the S.E.U at my school who is a big Simpsons fan and he didn't get what I said when i told him  any Futurama jokes.

this kinda counts.

There was this one episode where Marge asks Comic Book Guy to sign a petition and he says something to the extent of: "Sorry, I only sign petitions to bring back cancelled science fiction cartoons".

Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

You're wrong on that!

He actually said "cancelled sitcoms", not science-fiction cartoons.  It may be a reference (I admit, Futurama was the first thing that I thought of), but I think it was just a generic dig at nerds trying to bring back/save cancelled TV shows.

Didn't Uter's T-shirt air before Futurama as well? I'd check, but I'll let somebody else provide the information for this. You know, just to be nice.

Simpsons, Season 13:
I can't remember the episode, but a HG Blob figurine  was conspiciously placed on Bart's bedroom night table.  I just about shat myself when I saw that.  I'll watch some episodes tonight and figure out which one it was...

Anyone know?

EDIT:  DoTheBartman says that the figurine on Bart's night table is, in fact, not HG Blob, but a space mutant, but that HB Blob does appear on a computer monitor elsewhere in Season 13.  I'll have to watch again...

Not the greatest of quality, but here are some captures from Simpsons, Season 13 - Episode 12 - "The Lastest Gun in the West":

And, as a comparison:

I think it's a HG Blob figurine. What do you guys think?

(Also, as for the HG Blob reference in episode 18 of the same season - "I am Furious Yellow", I didn't see any Blob on computer monitors.  Only a Treasure Troll and some other junk.

I would say not.  It does look enough like the HG blob that I would say yes if there didn't exist a creature in the Simpsons universe that it looks even more like (Space Mutants), especially considering that Bart is known to be a fan of the Space Mutant movies. If it was supposed to be HG blob, they would have made it perfectly clear that it was, design-wise. It would have tentacles that ended in stubs, not hands, it would have three "hair" tentacles, no "feet" tentacles, and so forth.
The same goes for the sighting in Furious Yellow that DTB mentioned (look either in the above the head of the Air-hockey player in the very first view of the office, or wheeled past on a chair in the equivalent shot of the repo scene if you still can't find it). It also has "hands", a single "hair", and "feet".

Here is one of a poster in Some Enchanted Leavening that shows the whole body.

Generic space mutant from The Telltale Bread:

Space mutant with kangaroo pouch from Principal Harming:

And here is an action-packed shot from Bart's Friend Falls in Glove.

But one is a blob and the other is a alien shapeshifter that likes looking like a blob! They are completely different!

Ranadok: Yeah, I admit I might've been mistaken about the "Furious Yellow" one.  Haven't seen that ep in a while.

And the Space Mutant toy has been a staple of Bart's room for years, I think since season one even.  So its definitely not a reference.

How many times have they actually said the word "Futurama" in the Simpsons, though? Once...twice, maybe? We need more support! (BTW: My question wasn't rhetorical, so feel free to answer.)

Twice, I think. Milhouse refers to MG as the creator of futurama (though I think he mispronounced both Groening and Futurama), and the squeaky voiced teen yells "why did they cancel futurama" before yumping off a cliff (both last season).  I think the actual word has appeared on screen three times (THOH credit and Uter's shirt before the show aired, and possibly the poster in the movie store from last season). I know you didn't ask that specifically, but it felt relevent enough to include.

Uter also wears a shirt reading "Futurama" at a sci-fi convention, right before Mark Hamil goes into a sing and dance routine.

I just remembered another reference but not sure which ep it was in. Marge was in a video store and behind her is a (small) Futurama poster.  Looked like DVD Volume 1 art if I remember correctly. I saw a scan of it but again, don't know where.  Man, I'm no help at all.

Hey, wait a minute, I was the one who started this thread.  Holy crap, my memory is bad!  :laff:
