I thought this might be slightly interesting, but, with all the people who went with Futurama from the Simpsons, which Simpsons writer do you wish would've come along to Futurama? Not that I don't think the Futurama staff is awesome (Morton and Odenkirk are brilliant)

(NOTE: Writing partners are considered together.)

Matt Selman would have been good. But then, some writers are more suited than others to the shows. I mean, Ken Keeler should prove that.

Al Jean and Mike Reiss would be a good duo to have. BAM! *votes*

I agree. Al Jean and Mike Reiss are great writers for the Simpsons, and it would be interesting to see how they adapt to its sister show.

As j_ohanley said some writers are suited best to other shows, it would be interesting to see how some of the Simpsons writers would do on Futurama. Jean and Reiss are great writers and I think they could of done wonders on Futurama.

I've no idea which writers wrote which Simpsons episodes so can't say which I'd like to see write for Futurama, I wouldn't mind an episode by Quentin Tarantino though  :evillaugh:

I think George Meyer could've been great.  He was (and still is) creating great sight gags.  We could've seen more Cop Departments, Scary Doors, etc.

I agree with the Quentin Tarantino vote!  :D Of course, my seeing Kill Bill last night has absolutely nothing to do with this opinion...Eheheh... Of course, a spoof of one of his films would be just as good. Imagine "Pulp Fiction" Futurama-style!
Oh yeah... :flirt:

I'd say the Futurama staff was probably fine the way it was.  Considering Keeler's record on Simpsons for instance, it would seem certain writers are just better suited to certain shows (as others have said).  Any of the people in the list would probably be good though, although I'd actually probably rule out Vitti since his tendancy seems to be not to do really wacky stuff (the other writers have wackier sensibilities that would be more fitting for Futurama).

For the sake of this poll, I would have to say George Meyer (although I agree that Futurama's writing staff was fine the way it was). He, like Jim Brooks, is the behind-the-scenes guy. He's responsible for alot of the jokes that we see on The Simpsons, and the episodes he's actually had a writing credit on have, for the most part, been great. I mean, a Futurama episode done in the style of "Bart Vs. Thanksgiving" or "Homer the Heretic" would probably be a winner. And, he wouldn't even have to write episodes for the series, he could simply be the same behind-the-scenes guy.

And if I remember my commentaries correctly, George Meyer was the person who originally came up with the idea for the hallucinagenic chilli pepper episode ("Ej Viajo Mysterio Du Jomer" or whatever it's called) years before it was actually written, proving that he himself does have quite a wacky, creative sensibility about him when it comes to creating story ideas. So my vote goes to him.

Think John Swartzwelder, with his 'wild' writing style, might be an interesting choice too though.

I vote John Swartzwelder because he seems to have an inexhaustable supply of story ideas. Although I personally love Al and Mike I'll vote with my head on this.
