Revival of Futurama Petition

I know a lot of people will say "There already was a great big petition, and fox didn't care." but for those of you, hear me out.

I think it's a good idea because:
We might get futurama back, duh. Also, the show actually seems more popular now that the reruns have been on [as] for a while. I think if it were advertised well, it might do even better than the original.
Even if it doesn't do better, now FOX has DVD sales and rerun ratings as well as the signatures to go by.

Reasons why I think it's a waste of time:
I probably wouldn't be able to get more than 160,000 signatures, or whatever the original got.
And even if it did get as many, would fox listen? maybe not. If CN offered to buy it shortly after, maybe. Who knows.

If the petition is successful, I'll send it to Cartoon Network also. If they realized how popular it was, more than just ratings-wise, maybe they's offer to buy it from FOX, or pressure FOX to make more episodes. I'm sure Turned Broacasting Company has more influence over fox than a bunch of nerds at their computers! (and face it, that's what we are!)

Here is the actual text of the petition, for those too lazy to go to it:

Quote
As many people know, the last episode of Matt Groening’s second cartoon show, Futurama, was aired in August of 2003. FOX has discontinued the series, much to the discontent of anyone who enjoys quality television programming.
Since it’s cancellation, Futurama has gathered a sort of cult following. Reruns have been airing on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim programming block. It has consistently ranked #1 in its time period on basic cable in delivery and ratings of its target audiences, particularly adults 18-34 and 18-24 and men 18-24. The recent release of Season 3 on DVD was ranked #3 on Amazon.com’s top seller list for the first few days of sales, and is still #27 after almost three weeks.
Why did FOX cancel such a great show? No one knows. But the truth is this: it should be brought back! That’s why I am starting this petition for the Revival of Futurama, one of the greatest shows ever to grace a TV screen!
For more information:
 www.peelified.com
 www.gotfuturama.com
 www.plan-et.tk

So please: I need as much help as I can get! We need to spread this everywhere on the net! If [-mArc-] or anyone from CGEF reads this, please update some of the old banners from the original petition, and for anyone who wants to help on their own, here's the address:

 http://www.petitiononline.com/bbf_2004/
To remember bbf_2004, just remember Bring Back Futurama in 2004. That's how I came up with it in the first place.

Anyone who has a Futurama site, please advertise! link to here, to my site, or to the petition, but get as many people as humanely possible to sign this petition!

The link, again, is in my sig.

If it works, you will be the most famous person among Futurama [watchers].  If not, you can join the club of people who have failed.  Good Luck!  Yes, I signed it.  #5!

Someone needs to create a Futurama news story of some sort to remind people of its existance. After all, the 160,000 petition came immediately after the show was cancelled. We're not gonna get numbers like that without another big bombshell.

I have a feeling that Matt's upcoming apperence ion The Simpson's will help. People watching that episode who hear the mention of Futurama may go "Whatever happened to that show?", the go onto the internet to look and BAM!, they get PEEL and CGEF.

i'm #23! and to everyone who thinks this is a longshot: of course it's a long shot. But we have absolutely nothing to lose at this point. And another major petition now might make the Fox execs seriously think about maybe bringing it back, or it might just irritate the hell out of them, and that's just as good!

The prime reasons the last petition reached those numbers, and in such sort time, was that it made both Ain't It Cool News and Slashdot. Ofcourse mArc disabling all content of CGEF except the link to the petition and the news story on techTV helped a good deal.

So in short I agree, unless we get someone to spread the word outside the PEEL community, we'll get nowhere.

sorry, but it was amusing! and sorry, to whoever it was that wrote that. i'm not saying it was bad, it was just funny. it seemed like they were trying to say that the simposons is better, but they made it seem like futurama was.

oh, and Lucky Clover, i appreciate it, but "advertising" doesn't mean "post the link all over the board."
