I remeber seeing a few episodes on fox, then losing intrest, but while on vacation I saw The Sting on adult swim, and i suddenly needed to see anything related to the show. Though while looking through old school papers, i found out I must have liked it when in elementary school, because I put it down as a favorite show.*wow!*

"Episode 2: The Series Has Landed."  I stumbled upon Futurama by accident; it was raining one Sunday evening in the summer of 1999, and basically all the channels were fuzzy except for channel 29 (our FOX station.)  Anyway, I decided to keep watching FOX through King of the Hill and The Simpsons, and then I heard about Futurama.  I had read about it in the local TV guide and thought it was interesting.  I watched the episode and I immediately got hooked.

I'm weird in that I don't remember the first episode I saw or the first episode I loved. It feels like it's always been there, in the background, then Adult Swim shoved it into the foreground. The earliest 'rama-related memory I've retained, though, has to do with one of my least favorite episodes. This annoying kid in my health class, freshman year of high school (shortly after TCW originally aired), was drawing shirtless fat guys with paintings on their guts. I looked over his shoulder and said, "Oh, like on Futurama?" He got all defensive and said that it was his own original idea and he'd never seen Futurama and I was a big stupid liar. About a week later, he poured pop on a friend of mine, 'cause he thought he was laughing at him (he wasn't). And then he physically assaulted this other kid who threw a pen cap at him. The TA had to pull them apart. I'm surprised my nerdy ass got away unscathed. ... The end.

Well the first episode I've seen was The Honking... But It didn't get to me though...You know...at that time I didn't know that the show title was futurama since in Poland (where I live) it was shown under the title "Adventures of Fry in Space"(Polish: Przygody Fry'a w kosmosie)... Then after a few weeks/months I've been talking to my friend abount various funny stuff and he borrowed me some of his futurama eps downloaded from the net (In Poland the DVD aren't available and the post&package cost of shiping Futurama DVD's from other countries is just too much for me)...Well then I really fell in love with Futurama...(Please don't kill me for downloading Futurama from net...please...pretty please..)

Welcome to PEEL swidzi!   :)
So it was called Adventures of Fry in Space? Odd.

Anywho, I've seen episodes before this one, but the first episode that really got me hooked on Futurama was The Why of Fry. It was a great episode and it was funny too.

[offtopic]You'll say odd... That is almost normal in Poland that most movies and series have their name changed (eg.'The Postman' with Costner has been changed to 'Messenger of the Future')[/offtopic]

Well, I used to watch Futurama in the first and second season, but never religiously.  I like it, but not enough to say I fell in love with it.  Then, last year, my boyfriend made me watch "The Sting" (now my favorite episode) and after that, I couldn't stop.

The first ep. I watched was L'sLLiS in June 1999, but the ep. that got me hooked was tPw/P in spring (or late winter) 2002. I wished I had gotten into the show earlier, maybe I could have helped saved it, but to like Sonic the Hedgehog said "I don't look back, I don't need to, time won't wait and I've got so much to do..."

i saw the very first episode when it aired.  i thought it was a dumb show and didn't watch it again until my old girlfriend and her roommates all started gathering around the tv at 10:00 CST for FUTURAMA and FAMILY GUY.  i still wasn't much of a fan for some wierd reason, but then they grew on me.

Probably Love and Rocket... I remember long ago I was watching Futurama just randomly for the first time and Fry and Leela were floating outside the ship or something... I never found out which episode that was...

I originally watched futurama when it first came on, after seeing the series ha landed. However, I was too lazy to keep up with it's constant time changes and pre-empting. two summers back I got hooked on it again on AS, but when school started, I couldn't stay up that late. On my 16th birthday, my brother got me the season three box set, and I quickly got the other three.

The first one I ever saw, The Devils Hands Are Idle Playthings.... then everything went backwards and I was confused....then my friend mentioned it was the last show and I wanted to cry.

Then I got mad at myself for being so lazy and not watching it sooner.

The first episode I ever saw was, "War Is the H-Word" -- still one of my favorites.

I immediately fell in love with the show.  Ironically, this was after the show had already been cancelled.  Friends of mine were watching recorded Futurama episodes.  I had heard about the show, but since I didn't have a TV, I never saw it.

I remember thinking to myself, "Meh, it's probably not as good as the Simpsons... I won't bother even looking at it".  I'm so glad that I actually DID see an episode. Now, I'm a Futurama junkie.  What a cruel fate that my drug dealer decided to forever prevent me from getting a new fix.

PS- Of course, I soon discovered that Futurama was vastly superior to The Simpsons in most every way possible...

People had been bugging me to watch the show for a LONG time, but I kept forgetting when it was on, and I never got around to it.  Plus I'm not a HUGE fan of The Simpsons and just figured it was like that (BAD ME  :().  I was watching TV one night and noticed it was on, so I watched it.  It was Where No Fan Has Gone Before, and I wasn't THAT impressed (maybe because I've never seen Star Trek?)

After a while, I noticed it was on again, so I watched it.  It was A Flight to Remember, and I fell in love.  I immediately went and bought the season 1 DVDs, and have been addicted ever since.   :)

As far as i can remember i saw the first episode on Sky1, british channel, and i liked the whole idea.  however they never seem to show it and although i liked it and my friend caught some episodes and we talked about them i found it hard to watch at the right times.
but, i remember seeing season three being first aired and they re-ran all the episodes because it was new, after that i loved it.  and now recently i've purchased all the box sets and after seeing it all i can't get enough.

I was living in Japan when "Futurama" premiered, and we didn't get the first season until the second or third season was on in the States. My dad loves it and got me hooked on it almost immediately, but I didn't become the example of utter geekdom for the show I am today until "Fry and the Slurm Factory". It's a perfect parody of one of my favorite movies, and I hadn't laughed so hard at a TV show in ages.

It was the same for me, also haveing Bender for Unreal Tournament helped get into Futurama

In Australia (to what I can remember) there was a quite a bit of hype since it was created by the same person as 'The Simpsons'

Well, I oftened seen parts of it when I was doing hmework I really didn't want to do, so I'd turn on the T.V. Then last summer, my friend wanted me to watch Family Guy, which was at 11. I turned on and saw Futurama instead. The first episode I saw was the Sting, so I started watching it every night. Then I saw The Farnsworth Parabox, and I was hooked. I had to learn more about this show. And here I am now, an addicted nerd. Whoo!

I never heard of it by word, but I had nothing to watch at night, so on Adult Swim, I saw a show that looked like the Simpsons. Futurama was made from the creators of the Simpsons, so I watched it, (my first episode to watch it was "I, Roommate" ) and then I started laughing my head off. Back then, I've been a fan of Futurama since... Maybe It was first aired!

The first episode. Me and my mate had been talking about the airing of the first episode and when we watched it we talked about it for ages at school. How funny it was , how cool it would be to be in the future. From then on I never lost interest. I loved it :D

The first time I watched futurama I was young and I dint really appreciate the wit of it. I always thought simpsons was better but as I got older I realised Futurama was better. It's somethin' which young kids dont like as much but definately better than the simpsons. ROCK ON FUTURAMA!

I'm guessing it's alot of people's, but before it even aired here I was just waiting for it cos Sky advertised it so much, plus I loved the Simpsons and it was Matt Groening, so I watched it. Even though I wasn't exactly obsessed at first, I watched it, and once my parents bought me and my brother the dvd set I've just been watching it ever since.
