Another round of classic reviews. I skipped Monday's episode in favour of this one as we already had PYHOMS reviewed multiple times and rated, too.Watch the episode today and review.

Meh, pretty average episode. Had a few funny moments - but not enough to hold the episode's weight in my opinion.

It's a good, solid episode. I prefer Act One to Acts Two and Three, mainly because of the movie segment. I'm not a huge fan of Bender episodes, because they generally follow patterns which (as payndz hinted at on ANSTATMAW) could very easily be transferred to "The Simpsons" (Raging Bender does share a slight similarity to "The Homer They Fall" ). It's not an episode which is a defining moment in Futurama, like "Parasites Lost" or "The Day The Earth Stood Stupid", but it is a solid episode. B "Calculon! A fire has broken out at the special effects warehouse! Come quickly before a fiery explosion chases someone down a corridor!"

"Good news, everyone! I've taught the toaster to feel love!"That's one of my favorite Professor quotes ever. Overall, though, the episode is pretty average. Not bad, but not my favorite. I'd give it a B. [This message has been edited by nichie (edited 10-28-2003).]

It's a pretty good episode. Gotta love Raging Benders "i'm a big toughy". Perhaps I am a little more tired of this episode than others, because the Season Two boxed set was the first that I got, and have probably watched it too many times. But trying to think about when I first watched it i'd give it a...B+.

Judging from my avatar, you can tell I'm a big fan of this episode This episode deserves mention just for Fnog's appearance. Also loved the brain slugs. Good stuff! No girl has the will of the warrior. You have the will of a housewife or at best, a school mom.

My two favorite quotes from that episode are: Girl who acts like fighter training fighter who acts like girl. and: I have the will of the warrior, you have the will of a house wife. Therefore, I win. Rematch? I win again. Sorry if I got the quote wrong.[This message has been edited by Frymeister (edited 10-28-2003).]

It was a pretty entertaining episode this one, especially the cinema sequence, but did anyone else think that the concept of Ultimate Robot Fighting was somewhat weak? It was like an uncomfortable mixture of wrestling and boxing elements that was neither here nor there and whilst some of the pro-wrestling satire they did was spot-on (The Foreigner, Bender's sudden change in gimmick), other aspects like the other robot fighters and Adner Doubledeal had a comparatively tenuous link to the real-life sport. I'm probably over-analysing this, but I just felt this stopped the episode from being a classic and left it as being merely a funny episode here and there

Definently a funny episode with tons of funny one-liners, but it wasn't as good as most 2acv episodes. Still, it was good. But it wasn't one of the best.Edit: I give it a B as well. [This message has been edited by Evil Fox Exec (edited 10-28-2003).]

I watched it on DVDs just a minture ago.Classic. Chockfulla laughs, one of the best Bender centered eps. There were so many hialrious moments, and we get to learn a tiny bit about Leela's past and her martial arts story. Random quote: "Why Zoidberg, there's a wonderful picture of you in here. " Solid A

It was a pretty good episode. Bender has some good lines in the episode. He was really hot in that fur jacket, “You know I’m also an ultimate robot lover” and I love it when he does that push ups.------------------ My Photos And Arts Site

Really hilarious one with loads of great jokes. Not the best, and the plot wasn't great, but I'd say it was one of the better Bender eps. The stuff with the movie was great, but it lost a little steam and got a bit dull during the bulk of Bender's wrestling plot. Great quotes:"Two robots enter, one leaves. Then, later, the other robot leaves, having been declared the winner." "That doesn't sound so bad." "Did I mention the crippling agonizing pain? I'm pretty sure I did, oh, hmmm, yes, difinately." "I WILL DESTROY YOU! ...And stop calling me." B

Who wrote this one? Horsted? I watched it on CN last night. I've always liked this one, I think this mid-season-2 is a great stretch of shows, and this one slots in well with the surrounding eps. I like the fact that it's both a Leela episode and a Bender episode, but still manages to keep its focus. The jokes are consistently funny (except for the cringe-inducing line about Fry's brainslug starving to death), and Bender is spot-on-character. Watching him show up in a white fur coat with two floozies and a ring on every finger is the highlight of my life. And I like the resolution of the Fnag/Leela plotline, where Leela strikes home the ridiculousness as well as the satisfyingness of beating people up for revenge. That hit close to home.

I love this ep, one of the better ones from S2....I saw it for the first time the same day I got the new wrestling game for my Playstation....so at the time it was quite cool heh-hehLots of funny stuff, Bender's little "Go Bender, Go Bender" makes me laugh every time.... The wrestling parody worked well....and seeing Leela's troubled childhood was cool.... I love Destructor, and the little twist at the end....but in subsequent eps he doesn't seem to be controlled by Fnog....?? The brain slug on Hermes for the whole ep, and the part with Fry was funny, why do you guys hate it....? Baaahhh.... ------------------ Bending Unit no more....Brand new Starship Captain since October 8th 2003....baby

He is a battle robot, you know. Maybe Fnog felt it was less effort to simply reprogram this unit to accept direct commands (no doubt the style of warfare employed by Destructor would be illegal in Ultimate Robot Fighting (I know, I know...no rules... )).

Although not the funniest episode (but then again - what is?), "Raging Bender" comes in with some pretty good laughs, mostly thanks to Master Fnog. But also thanks to the many robots Bender "Fights", my favorite being The Foreigner. "I'm not from here! I am my own customs! Look at my craaazy passport!" This is a pretty solid episode, and one I never really tire of. 9/10

I thought it was a pretty decent ep. I did like the wrestling parody, with the various gimicks and rivalries and all that (one of my best friends is a big wrestling fan, so I got a little introduction to that in real life). I really liked the movie theatre scene, especially when the masked unit (is that his name? I can't remember!) begins to show his true form. Bender: "Ah, ha ha ha ha...oh, I'm boned."I also like Leela's last line. "The important thing is I got to beat up someone who hurt me in high school." Now who hasn't felt like that before? The line about Fry's brain slug gave me a little chuckle...wasn't a great line (a little too predictable...I mean, who didn't see that shot at Fry comming from, say, Omicron Persei 8), but it didn't exactly make me cringe or anything. Anyways, decent episode. Not one I watch on a daily basis or anything, but still good. B+/A- range.

Meh. There's something about the episode that just... made it a little bad. I don't know what it was, I think I'm just turned off by anything sports related because it bores me to death, even in Futurama.Phnog was the only good thing that happened to the episode for me. His lines, and Bender's furry white coat with the $ on it were the best parts of the episode. The rest was, in my opinion, mediocre. I'd give it a C, or at best, a C+

Well you make a good point actually: that's two episodes in a row that Bender acts like a pimp. Three if you count the obscene amount of jewellery he has in A Bicyclops Built For Two.

Yep, that line (very funny it was too) was featured in "Put Your Head on My Shoulders" I think.Although if the male Bender had worn the cowboy-hat ensemble that Coilette was wearing at one point in "Bend Her" he would look decidely pimp-ish as well. Well, that's actually shows just how much range Bender has: he's been a pimp and a ho. He's done it all, y'know?
