I thought it was a good ep, especially with the ally mc beal reference (c'mon, like you can't figure that out). This kinda stuff makes me think Fox actually fought Matt over freedom of speech, but i'm getting sidetracked. The ep is definitely not one of the best, but it's still fun to watch, it also shows for the first time the PE ship's weapons sistems, and from that ep on, they always remembered to incluide them. All in all, an average futurama ep, but what else do you need? it's better than most current simpsons eps and DEFINITELY better than KOTH.

Ahhh, the classic reviews, i like, i like.  When Aliens Attack is great, loved the introduction to the Omicronians.
Bender's patriotism Unit was insanely funny, along with Zapp's "Plan"
The entire episode was great start to end. It might also be worth mentioning to the people who are anaware, that the "Featured Episode" box on the Board listings has now changed, to allow voting for the classic episodes.
I gave this a 3/4

I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago and I thought it was really good. The best bit for me was when Zapp was watching all the drafted ships getting blown up by the Omicron ship, and he said "Stop exploding you cowards!". For some reason I found that and the way he said it hysterical! Anyway all round good episode nothing negative I can think of.

When Aliens Attack is probably the best episode of Season 1 as it is funny the whole way through. Zoidberg, Zapp Brannigan, Fry and Bender are just plain hillarious - and Lrrr is introduced for the first time (also being hillarious). A terrific Futurama episode with some great quotes, and to top it off - one of the most amazingly animated scenes in Futurama's early history - the space battle. Great animation, great writing, great humour.

The first time I watched this episode, I didn't really think much of it. Now it's one of my Best! I think the Omicron aliens is a cool idea! 5/5 on the Lee-Rating-System.

My favourite bit had to be Bender's Camara Three. I don't know why (yea i do - my gloriously one track dirty mind), the way he does it so casually, and the noise even though we've heard it twice before is much funnier without the visual action.

When Aliens Attack is probably my favourite episode of the 1st season (Love's Labour's Lost In Space might pip it to that title, though.  )Some of the best Zapp lines in the entire series, a space battle that holds it's own with the best of them and plenty of parody to boot. Definitely the best of the "parody" episodes. If I'd reviewed it back when it first aired, I'd probably give it an A, but knowing what comes later, I'll bump it down to a B+. "If we hit this bullseye, the rest of the dominos will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate."

Meh, i don't like this ep as much as others, although it used to be one of my S1 faves. Zappy was great once again, and the overall plot was funny. But I just didn't feel the love. Maybe it's just because that it's early material.B-

IMO seasons 3 and 4 had the better stories, but seasons 1 and 2 were by far the funnier. "When Aliens Attack" is hilarious. I don't have the memory or the time to run through all the one-liners that deserve quoting.The Omicronians are one of the best alien races ever created for TV. Throw in ZB at his very funniest, Leela in her swimsuit, the destruction of the Hubble Telescope and Fry KO-ing FOX, and you have a classic episode.

When Aliens Attack is my second favorite Season 1 episode, (Fry & the Slurm Factory being the best.) My favorite part was the Star Wars parody where it looks like Fry is Luke Skywalker. I loved that part![This message has been edited by Frymeister (edited 10-14-2003).]

(This review is more or less "out of memory", but I've seen the episode so many times now I think I can safely review it)One of the better ones from season one(or 1ACV anyway), that's for sure. Most of those episodes don't really stick out but this one does. It has plenty of the funniest moments in the series (Star Wars, many of Zapp's lines, "camera three", "you knocked Fox off the air!" etc) and has a very creative and fun plot. Correct me if I'm wrong but this was a Ken Keeler episode, which certainly explains alot.
Grade: A/A-

Yep, most definetely Ken Keelers work.This really is a great episode. 3 seperate and different acts (beachtrip/Omicronina attack, Earth strikes back, the Single Female Lawyer gambit), yet they connect so well, while keeping the flow of the episode uninterrupted. While the beachtrip was good (pretty nice to see the PE crew do something in their sparetime together as friends), the real entertainment start with the introduction of the Omicronians. Such a great aline race, and I like how the running gag of Lrrr making an embarrasing move everytime we see him came out of nowhere. Enter Zapp Brannigan and things really get up to speed. Great stuff with the space battle, the Hubble telescope and all. The third act with the Single Female Lawyer gig was a good too. "Gracias". Anyway, all in all this episode, together with LLLiS and Sp3k, make out my personal top-3 of the 1ACV episodes. 9/10. "Pah, I've had it with this review! I'm going for a scuttle." Hah, hah! I love that line!Anyway, When Aliens Attack totally rocks, and is among the best of season one. Everything about was really funny....Fry taking an hour to write two pages, the Omicronians threatening to raise the Earth's temperature a million degrees for several days, etc.

Not one of my favourite episodes but it's grown on me like most of them have after a lot of viewings....The Omicronians are great...."I am LRRR"
"Is this thing on....?" The Mothership appearing out of the stars is the best thing I've ever seen, and I love the mini spaceship blowing up Fry's sandcastle....heh-heh Best line in the ep...."Although last time aliens invaded Earth, all they did was pair up the most intelligent of us and force us to mate continuously....oh yes   ------------------

I find it kind of hard to review all the episodes now the show's over, I just tend to see them all as one fantastic nostalgic mess. Still, this was one of the better season 1 eps, introduction of the Omicronians and the return of Zapp. The animation was absolutely wonderful, probably the best of the first season, especially in the incredible space battle scene. Couple of great lines:Professor: I must decline your offer of marriage for you see I'm dying. Cough then fall over dead. (Smiles)
Zoidy: My God he's dead. (The professor checks his pulse) "My God! You knocked FOX off the air!"
"Pfft. Like anyone on Earth cares." And, of course, Fry's classic "that's not why people watch TV" quote. All in all, brilliant as usual, but just a taster of what's to come. B+ ------------------

Classic reviews? Brilliant idea! I hardly got a chance to use regular reviews. Anyway, great episode. I really liked the miniskirt on Leela and the part where they filmed the show. Seriously great.

Bst part of the ep right there. The whole shooting scene wwas incredibly hilarious, when Zoidy said "gracious", till when he poked out leela's other eye. brilliant work there, I'll bump the grade up a bit since Teral reminded me of this. B+ ------------------

I loved this episode! I liked in the begining whene they showed the actual single femal lawer, I forget what she says in it but it was so hilarious!

And nobody mentioned the beautiful cosmic zoom-out following the TV waves, including exactly eight frames of Voyager. I'm not good at ranking episodes, but this one's in my S1 top 5 for sure.

I think this ep was great. i especially liked the part at the end because it is so true. Unexpected things make people feel angry and clever things make them feel stupid. Good ep all around.

Average Episode.The really early episodes didn't have Bender really breaking out, i think.
Save Hell is Other Robots. Hes just not very sociopathtic yet or veryvery mean, so w/o that, no ep can be considered great.

I liked this episode a lot! The first appearance of Lrrr, Zapp getting his butt kicked was funny! How they tried to reenact the season finale of "Single Female Lawyer", it was just pure classic! Plus, that episode came out around the time Futurama was getting better and better.
