When the Season 4 DVDs arrive for you, will anyone consider watching the entire 4 seasons of Futurama back-to-back?  If so, how long would it take?

I certainly won't watch them all in one go, even though I haven't seen most of the episodes yet I'll spread them out a bit  :)

When I have them all I will have a Futuramathon with my friends, with a projector etc. Spread across three days.

I was considering hiring a theatre at my uni or local community hall and playing either a selection of episodes, or the entire run back to back on big theatre screen, with all my friends and any Aussie PEELers that wanna turn up

I won't do that I guess. Also, I only have one friend who likes Futurama as much as I do. Or almost as much.

Screw my friends. I'll lock myself here in my room and watch all the episodes from 1 to 72 back to back 5 times, or until I pass out and die - whichever comes first.

None of my friends watch Futurama, which is why I was so happy to find this forum and others who love the show as much as I do. So, I'll probably end up watching them alone.

I like to watch 2 episodes a day until I finish the set. Then I go back and watch them with the commentary.

Let's see, let's assume that all episodes are 20 minutes long, rounded down, of course.  That's 3 an hour.  72 divided by 3 is 24.  That's about a day's worth of Futurama.

Uhh...72 divided by 3 is actually 24, so that is precisely 1 day of Futurama, if all the eps were 20 minutes.

How can it be precisely one day when you're rounding down the run time?  ;)

I expect I'll have a season by season marathon on my own over four days if I have the time. Though I probably won't do it till Christmas. I don't really know enough Futurama fans around here to have a decent Futuramathon.

That would be a great way to die. I can think of better ones though. But it's a good start.  :)

I had a Marathon with one of my friends when the season 3 dvd came out. The first 3 seasons didn't even take a day.

One season of Star Trek takes longer for me.

That's about the same as me. It can be more though, depending on how many eps are on the disc. But that's only when I get the set for the first time. After that, I randomly pick eps from different seasons. Whatever I feel like watching at the time  :)

It's pretty difficult to work out the exact running time of all the episodes back to back, do you count the credits? Think about how much of the running time is taken up by the credits. Also, I thought that the episodes were 22 minutes long not 20?

Anyway, I'll try and do a Futurama marathon one day. For years me and my cousin have said that one day (this can't happen to atleast 2006) when all the Satr Wars films are out on DVD, we'll sit back and watch them all in order pretty much non stop. And the same for the Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Jurassic Park (the final 4th part is due out 2005), and Back to the Future films. I guess we'll need to put aside nearly a week to fit in all that.

Hehe, I won't. I do have a life  ;). Although I will be anxious to watch 'em all! I want to spread 'em out, so it seems more like a treat to watch 'em.

Oooh, I'm going to be having a Futuramathon at a friend's house this weekend... but I only own the eps between SP3K and A Taste of Freedom... so it isn't a full marathon.

In fact I can still hang on to the hope of Futurama staying alive for me, because there are four episodes I still haven't seen...

My guesstimate is that watching all 72 episodes back to back would take about 26 and a half hours.

Personally the most I've ever watched back to back is six, when the 3rd season DVDs were released.

My friend and I watched all of the Season 1 DVD back-to-back once. However, doing it with all 4 seasons might be a bit too unbearable if there were no breaks.

I dont think I could do all 72 eps in a row. I haven't go the endurance to sit and watch Futurama all day, as cool as that may sound  ;)

As I buy each season I tend to usually just watch eps from that season until I've watched them all. Then I just pick from any random season, depening on which ep I'm in the mood for watching  :)

When my season 4 DVDs arrive, I'll first watch all the season 4 episodes only, with the commentary.
Afterwards I will start watching all 72 episodes in the correct order, but just one or two episodes per day, so that it will take me about 9 weeks to get through all of them.

When I get mine, I'll retreat into my room for several weeks and watch all the episodes in order.  Then listen to the audio commentaries in order.  Then watch all the episodes in order...

I will only watch if I'm particularly alert and awake.  Anything less, I consider a misuse of the time.  I space them out to minimize the risk of becoming jaded.

      I watch one episode.

      Then the commentary.
      Then the deleted scenes/animatic/storyboard.
      Then the episode.

< I hope you found yourself hearing the above in Bea Arthur's voice  :) >

Then I go to bed and hope to dream about it.
