Remember me previous polls; The Futurama Song Contest andThe 2002 Futurama Song Contest?

What? You don't? This is an outrage! Click the links and vote away.

Yesterdays episode meant I had no other choice but to do the 2003 version of the Futurama Song Contest.

Afterwards, we'll have the grand final between the winners/runners up of the three polls.

If you don't see the song you love, it's probably in one of the other polls.

Look out for another installment of Clothes For A Cyclops" as well  :D

The opera was shere brilliance.  While I don't think it was Leela's absoulout best performance it was Billy's best and it was hilarious.  The devil rocked fine (print!  ;) ) The greatest original song in anything I've ever ever seen.

So far out of what I've seen I'd pick the 'Bee Happy' song from 'The Sting'. But as I haven't seen the last episode yet, all that could change, so I'll save my vote for later  :)

I thought the Opera was brillence. The AD libbing part was my favourite part of it. The other's were good but this was the best.

I felt sorry for TV Party Tonight (0%) so gave it its first vote.  However, I love the opera too.

The opera was really great, and probably was Billy West's best singing in the series, and of course Katey Sagal's voice is tops.

It was played over the end credits for "Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV". You can download the MP3 at CGEF.

Gotta go with "TV Party," by Black Flag, solely on principle. "Leela, the Opera" was really good too, but I really, really like Black Flag. Personal preference.

Odd bit of a question: that didn't sound like Henry Rollins doing the vocals. Did anyone who caught the credits able to tell me if they listed who performed the song?

I went with TV Party because it fits so well with the storyline AND flips a nice bird to the lazy TV watching public.  That's A+ material in my book.

The Bee Happy song was great, but Fry's opera was moving and provided a fitting conclusion to a great series.

To Evan:
The credits rendition of TV Party was done by the Futurama cast.

Bender: TV Party tonight!
Farnsworth: Ehwhaa?
Bender: TV Party tonight!
Farnsworth: Ohwhoa!
Fry: We've got... nothin' better to do
Leela: Than watch TV and have a couple of brews.
Zoidberg: Don' wanna talk about anything else!
Fry: We don't wanna know!
Farnsworth: We're dedicated, yes
Hermes: To our favorite shows!
Cubert?: All My Circuits!
Dwight?: Everybody Loves Hypno-Toad!
Amy: Scary Door!
Leela: Blernsday Night Blernsball!
Bender: Futurama!

Then cut! to three mesmerizing seconds of
THE HYPNO-TOAD.

Awesome.

I think Leela sings: "Blurnsday Night Blurnsball"

During the 1ACV production the staff was under a strict timeschedule, in order to find extra time to get the job done David X Cohen invented Blurnsday, meaning they now could work 8 days/week.  ;) He brings it up a lot during the "Fear Of A Bot-Planet" and "A Leela Of Her Own" audio commentaries. Incidently that's where Blurnsball comes from.

Right on, Teral! corrected above.  That went past me in spite of multiple listenings.  Also, Farnsworth's first line was slightly off.  If anybody can confirm my Cubert/Dwight attributions, we would have THE definitive transcript

It improves with repeated listenings.  I especially like Zoidberg's tone - his voice rises like he's about to do something maniacal.

BTW, it's my first post. And, my picture is of Leela at the funeral from "The Sting", in honor of Futurama's ending.   :puke:

My man.  More people need to vote for this one.

I just checked the credits, there's no credits for TV Party.  As Vintage Dave says, the credits version is performed by the cast, but I agree that the original version from in the episode doesn't sound like the Black Flag version I'm most familiar with.  I'll have to listen to it again.

Edit:  Nah, I think it sounds the same.
