Sunday 17 7:00-8:00 we will see both Bender Should Not Be Allowed On TV and The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings.

Sky One must be having some kind of generous phase. It's quite unnerving, at least with enemies you know where they stand. With neutrals who knows?

You are assuming everybody here has Sky, I for one don't so expect I'll have to wait for the DVDs to be released to see series four, unless channel four starts the series fairly soon.

Channel 4 showed a Futurama episode this morning in how long? It was Anthology of Interest I, I hope Channel 4 show a few more episode over the school holiday but that's great news for people with Sky.

I was amazed at how badly that ep was cut, having only ever seen episodes on Sky and on DVD.

Also on the subject of this mornings channel 4 ep i was very sad that they cut one the funniest jokes in the ep. hermes yelling "what are you hacking off? is it my torso? it is! my precious torso!"

i personally am impressed with the coverage of Futurama on Sky and channel 4 much better than Fox.

They cut some of the weirdest bits out of the morning versions like in the titanic episode when Amy tells her parents she has a boyfriend her father says "why isn't he here right now" and they cut it before he says "..fathering our grandchild"

$ky don't show Futurama episodes, they show adverts with a few bits of Futurama mixed in for good measure.

I'm sorry, but I must strongly disagree with you there. Sky, apart from CN and it's sisters, has been the network to treat Futurama with a trace of decency. Especially when you consider that in the US there are 2 ad breaks per half hour, not one.

Red Dalek, ever heard of syndication? Cos if you lived in the States, thats what you'd have to put up with after first-run episodes and they probably do even more cuts than Channel 4 for ad breaks. We've got the lesser of two evils..

Actually, in the US, TBS has been showing S2 and the breaks are exactly where they should be (two for every 1/2 hour) and the end credits are intact.  So, it's not so bad.  FOX is the evil entity that has swallowed all that is holy in it's filthy maw!  Sorry.  Got carried away, is all.

is it because we dont have anything as bad as the fox network here so we have to pretend it is to fit in with the american

I only say it cause I was used to the simpsons on BBC2, with a total of, wait for it, NO adverts. Then channel 4 got futurama, and apart from scheduling it sooooo badly I didn't know it was even on, put 1 advert in the middle of it. Watching anything on $ky is simply painful for me, as I grew up with good old BBC.

No, it's because sky shows long adverts, has no respect for futurama (like fox) likes to tease viewers with lots of old episodes. Hell I bet the two episodes next week are just a publicity stunt and they'll be withdrawn next sunday morning and an old episode will be put on in it's place.

As for advert breaks, while waiting for some programs I've seen sky take a break and then return for three seconds of programming followed by the credits. If that isn't too much adverts, I'll eat my hat.

How does Sky show long adverts? The schedule is divided, like on most networks, into half hour slots. In order for them to make a show last a full half hour (and most of the time, they're finished by 25 past), they have to put adverts in. And how is showing old episodes "teasing" viewers? They aren't going to show new episodes at any time other than that allocated. If you're talking about replacing midseason, then that comes right back to FOX and them witholding the episodes.

Sometimes Sky is a little guilty of that, I'll admit. They've been known to try the US style of breaks, both in the "break after credits" version and the Act1/2/3 breaks. But they got so many complaints they moved back to the British style.

I personally think showing old episodes ad nauseum is almost like mocking the viewers when there have been so many good new ones to put on. And adverts, I don't know why but Sky seems to put on more adverts than any terrestrial channel.
And okay I admit that it's probably FOXs fault they can't show any decent new episodes, but I think I'll extend my ranting to cover both Sky One and FOX. Ask nicely and I'll rant about Channel 4 as well.

I'll rant for channel 4 for you! They didn't tell me Futurama started! No promotion at all! I just happened to flick there in the middle of the 2nd ep and that was my first exposure to Futurama!

Then they moved it to the weekend and AGH!

Sky may not be as bad as Fox but they are still evil and bred from the same Rupert Murdoch owned corporation.

They shred a lot of programs to bits in the vain of censorship and plaster every corner of the screen with logos, interactive links and other adverts whenever they deem it necessary I remember being forced to watch the final few episodes of Buffy with lines haphazardly cut and adverts for the "Vote an episode!" they were running the next week which totally ruined it.

Howdy, y'all...
I've been away on holiday to Britain's best theme park-Alton Towers.  Anyway, I just saw Obsoletely fabulous...IT WAS GREAT, although I had to beg my parents to let me watch it and skip dinner.  Sky must have some sinister alterior motive behind showing two new episodes in one week.  I can't believe that after that, it'll be the end.  No more.  All I'll have are the comics, the memories and the DVDs.  And possibly a movie.  And the game.  And if I don't get season four on DVD soon, I will eat my PS2.  No joke. 
Seeing as it's the last boxset(I mean season 4, do you reckon there will be any new features?  Interviews?  Previews for Groening's new show?  Awwww...  I still haven't seen Rocketship love, where no fan has gone before, Leela's homeworld and Crimes of the hot.  Please let me watch them...

Also fox have announced 17th november for region 2 but play.com say 1st september i emailed them and they replied saying they can confirm this date.

I have to give full credit to Sky at the moment. Not only are they showing the final two episodes back to back, they're advertising it in it's audience timeslot and putting a new Simpsons on before it. And the advert's are more than 50% Futurama  ;).

I haven't been watching Tv this week, are Sky actually promoting this enough? And are the saying it's the last one? And davids don't build your hopes up for Sept 1st, you just know it's too soon.

I haven't been watching TV but I bet there hasn't been a single advert for Bender TV/Devils Hands all week. It is the last one as well. That I am sure of.

That's exactly what they have been advertising (although using clips from other episodes to advertise them - odd.) They've made it clear these are the last two episodes ever. I'm sure any spawn of Murdoch is evil, but I think a commercial break every quarter of an hour is not greedy; you wouldn't expect anything different on the independent terrestrial channels. I understand Red Daleks loyalty to the BBC, but we pay a licence fee so that the BBC can offer that kind of service. How much larger would that licence fee have to be if it financed every other TV station as well.

btw Mr Dalek, under the current embargo from the Terry Nation estates, as a Dalek are you allowed to support the BBC?
