I've just seen it, and wow that was weird. I like it, but I did't love it. Interesting idea, it came out about how I imagined, and I was happy to see that the other characters were equally used throughout the ep. Hermes limboing was really clool, and I liked the whole Bender changing gender story, it was just about enough to carry this ep through, the weirdness probably helped. But it wasn't one of the best eps either, just good

well you should fix your gender icon then  It's funny and disturbing that so many people (guys) are freaked out by Bender becoming a fembot. It's just a cartoon. You personally, the viewer, are not getting a sex change just by watching the show.

I saw one woman post negative and one "transgender" according th the icons anyway. And you just thougt it was poor, I meant the people who got REALLY bent out of shape. Sorry for not noticing you were female, I just never pay attention to the gender icons (or ranks, or number of pretty stars). I'm too lazy to go to my profile and set mine, I guess. Hey, no problem. But we're getting off topic here. Let's all go back to bashing the episode some more.(edit) I could've sworn one of my posts was at the top of the page a few minutes ago, but now it's back on page 2. Does that happen a lot? That remembers me when I told once some guys how a male-to-female sex-change-surgery is like. They were all looking shocked and all the time looking down their body as if they were about to check if everything is still okay "there".  Btw: I know a lot transsexual and also some intersexual people and they are really good friends of me.
I think it would be nice if we could watch once this episode. But that can take years till "Biege sie" (translated title) will be in German TV.
Also I should better watch the episode before I'll show it to other people. EDIT: Look at my shiny new avatar!

Actully, I've since grown a grudging respect for this episode if only because in the thread about the newest epp, people are stil compaining or upset about it. So it upset people on some fundemental level or shook up their assumptions, and thats generally a good thing if done with tact and/or humor.

Well finally got to see this ep and I must say, stomach turningly hilarious. Female bender is really creepy, but that didnt stop me from enjoying it.

it sucked, i could barely stand watching it. bender was so gay, and not in a funny way. jackotsu from inuyasha was way funnier in that way. i give it a 0/infinity it reeeks! give me devil hands so i can get this over with!

1.) Being gay has not to be funny. It's a serious way to live. Not a joke for TV.
2.) What is "sucked" about an episode which features something not heterosexual / cissexual? (cissexual is the opposite to transsexual)
3.) Coilette is not gay. Ever heard of transsexuality? There is a difference between gay people and transsexual people.
If you wish I could write you an e-mail explaining the differences between homosexuality, transsexuality, transgender, intersexuality, transvestism, drag queens, drag kings, etc. ...

I never got this. I'm Hetrosexual But it's not my lifestyle, It's my Sexstyle. I don't live for sex, nor is my life consumed with sex. It typicaly makes up less then 1% of my average week. And typicaly tops out at 10%(16 hours a week) for most people. Should your Lifestyle really be defined by what you do less then 1/4 your time? ------------------

The way I would see it: About 64% of my life is based on women. I think about them. I call them. I try to get a date with them. In fact, I think it may be more than 64%. Why do I go to school? So I can go to college. Why do I go to college? So I can get a high paying job. Why do I get a high paying job? So I can support a girlfriend/wife... I mean, my only motivation for getting a summer job is so I can fund my romantic escapades (well, that and Futurama Season 2, as well as some pointless excursions to the mall and movies). Its like "I Dated a Robot": All of society is based on an attempt to impress the opposite sex (or sometimes, the same sex). In conclusion, I can't really remember what my point was, so I'll peter out with this final though: "What if life were more like a video game?"

But would your actual lyfestyle be any diffrent if you were homosexual and simply replaced the word Woman with Man in your post? Not really. It's a superficial part of the statement. You could even use genderless statements to acurately describe the exact same point. The Lifestyle stays the same with a diffrent Sexstyle.

Is the motorbike which Fry is driving at the wedding the same that Bender drove in Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles during his rebellious stage?

Just watched it, funny in places but john dimaggio making a girly bender voice was to creepy man!! I say it could be funny if it were his normal bender voice.

A good fun episode. No it hasn't got a deep, thought provoking concept like some of Season 4's other landmark episodes, but who cares. It's got a cool season 2 feel to it, and that's a good thing. Futurama may have developed since then. But it's important to have this sort of episode to remind you why you fell in love with the show in the first place.
John DiMaggio did a great job with the voice. The Limbo/sprint was one of the funniest things i've ever seen! All the characters and voices are on top form throughout the episode. And the moment in the "She's a Lady" montage when Calculon swings Bender/Coilette around the dance floor made me laugh sooo hard I cried. It's the way DiMaggio says "whooo" and the quick cut editing that makes it so brillaint! Overall 8/10.

Putting a male character into female role is a "must do" for many TV Series. In most cases it ends up in a disaster, because all they focus on are cheap jokes. But the Futurama writers have managed to handle this one well...
And like usual, they found a way to make fun of both sides...

This episode is like many others, meaning that the first time you watch it, it doesn't sink to far below the surface. I bet when it's watched again (reruns, DVDs, paintings on cave walls) it will turn out to everyone who hated it that is was a good ep. Seriously, watch it again. I liked it because it's Futurama. And, Tom Jones songs in anything make everything better.

Well I just watched this ep and I kind of thought it was pretty poor. It was ok, but I dont know why but I just didn't really like it. Bender becoming a fembot was a really unique idea but they could have had a lot more fun with that and made it a lot more funny with a slightly different storyline maybe. It was nice to see a lot of the other characters involved a bit more. I dont think I laughed once till the end when the Professor said
'Turn off this crap-o-rama!'
That line made me smile. But apart from that, a pretty dissapointing ep for me really. Aah well, maybe it'll get a bit better on repeat viewings

I only just saw it, anyways quality episode.
I don't know why ye are all getting so creeped out by benders sex change, to be honest I was a lot more creeped out by that lower horn removing device from Spanish Fry, I've lost track of the amount of times I've wanked to coilette probably the hottest fembot yet on Futurama.
Anyways my only dissapointment is that I thought a Coilette-Fry affair would have been a lot funnier/disturbing than a coilette-Calculon one.

[nerd voice]I just noticed a lack of continuity in this episode, in episode 1AVC03 I Roommate, Bender has his antenna cut off and says they might be able to reattach it if they find it in time yet in episode 4AVC17 Bend Her he goes the whole episode without his antenna and has it reattached in the end, boy I really hope someone got fired for that one[/NV]BTW whats the deal with Lezbo in some other thread saying transsexuals all around the world were outraged by this episode and were going to march into FOX studios to protest, this has gotta be the funniest thing I ever heard, seriously I hope these trannys go ahead with it, the publicity might be good for futurama, hell I might even join in if it helps Futurama
