I'm in agreement here. I found this episode to be rather disappointing. I'm usually pretty forgiving and enjoy the episodes others dislike (ie. That's Lobstertainment, A Leela of Her Own, A Pharaoh to Remember), but I just couldn't find much to like here.

I remember from the DVD commentaries, the writers said early on they decided that they were going to do the show they wanted and not cater to FOX's preferences. This show seemed to contradict that. The constant penis jokes and sexual innuendo were something you expect to see in The Simpsons nowadays. I expect more from the humor in Futurama.

I think there was too much of Lrr in this episode and I never thought I'd say that. Seeing him fight with his wife about their relationship problems seemed so pedestrian and uninteresting. It was a real turn off to see him become all sensitive at the end and start making out with his wife.
Bigfoot's appearance was SO predictable too and could have been handled much better.

There were a few bright moments in the show: the UFO abduction, bigfoot film, the alien porno, Leela singing 'The Bodyguard' theme.

I guess I'm just in the minority here with my dislike of this particular episode. Maybe my expectations are just higher knowing that these are last episodes of the show.

Don't get me wrong - I like all the shippy/character piece/overall story arc stuff as much as the next person - but the occasional 22 minutes of "stupid" humor (and I mean that in a good way) ala "Amazon Women" or "Deep South" is very cleansing. If you didn't laugh at the fake nose and glasses on Fry after Zoidberg's preceding "high quality prosthesis" (or whatever he said) comment, then you have no soul.

A Bender beatbox theme remix, non-stop d!¢k jokes, Lrrr AND a special “under the credits” ending (even though I have to wait a year or more before I’ll actually see it). Pure Futurama bliss!

Sure I can see how some might be put off by all the lowbrow humor in Spanish Fry, but that is the real beauty of Futurama. The writers knew that their audience was both diverse and smart (two things most TV execs can’t fathom) so they had no fear changing the tone of the show from week to week. Take four of S4’s best: “Jurassic Bark”, “Where No Fan…”, “The Sting”, and “Spanish Fry”. One makes you cry, one taps your inner geek, one plays with your head and one is best viewed in a fraternity house after 6 beers.

And ALL make you laugh. Maybe some more than others depending on your own personal interests and frames of reference, but each episode has at least a few things in it that will make you laugh.

God, August 10th will be a black day for humor on television, but I am so thankful Futurama’s 1584 minutes of inspired magic (and madness) will be available to me 15 shiny platters for many, many years to come.

HA! Thats great, I thought that I might be the only PA fan here.

Alot of people seem to have problems with all of the wang jokes. I dont see why. Its fun to have a risque episode or two. I thought that most of Bender's lines were funny. Also, the horizontal monster mash...I laughed my ass off when I heard that.

In addition:

It's also great that they put the "thanks for watching futurama slave army" or something as the caption in the alien language cause if you can read it, then you're obviously a futurama geek for knowing what it says! Which we are! Like BNLbum said, it's like DXC is thanking us for watching. I loved that.

There is no question that this show has the best animation on television. WOW! Almost all of it was in 3D! It's like DXC says, "this show has animation too great for TV."

Beat-boxing Bender-intro: That seriously rocked. I love it when John Dimaggio foes some beatboxing.

The camping-trip was great (Leela loked damn cute sorry, I had to sneak that one in), although the Bigfoot-movie was pretty dull. Atleast we had some good beer-jokes and other stuff to make it a minor nuissance. Leela's more hard-assed attitude was great. "This isn't a fatcamp, although you could fool me." ::looks at Hermes and Zoidy::

I'm also a bit puzzled Fry didn't try to steal a peek into the girls tent. Liked the shot of Leela spraying her boots though. "Yeech! What smells like boot feet?"

The Hermes accounting joke was pretty clever.

Lrrr and Ndnd were great. Even though they were pretty cliché ridden, the relationship jokes work well. The sight of two Omicronians making out is probably the most disturbing scene in television history, except for Ferengi's making out. ::Sideshow Bob shudder::

And I agree with Sarge. The reason Leela's singing was bad, is beacuse noone can make "I Will Always Love You" sound great. I'm surprised they even know about that song in a thousand years.

The "horn" jokes: well, some of them were pretty clever, some of them were ... not so clever. All in all I'm pretty meh about it.

Was I the only one who thought Lrrr and Ndnd would keep Bigfoot as a pet?

All in all 22 minutes well spend. i can't believe this great show ends in only 4 weeks! "Ohh, I made myself sad."

My crappy illegal online copy is crappy--I can't make out much of the background details in the sex shop. But the name(Beast With Two Bucks - $1.99 Sex Shop) was cute.

Lrrr was kind of annoying. Actually I guess he's always been kind of annoying. I like the omicronians in general, but they've had some bad lines over the years.

I don't agree with people saying the penis jokes were too crude. I thought they were classy.

The Neptunian sex scene was probably the sexiest thing I've ever seen.

Leela singing was bad. Haven't they already done the "people sing poor renditions of 'I Will Always Love You'" gag on The Simpsons? They should at least come up with a different crappy love song.

Continuity error: hasn't Bigfoot already been discovered? I recall a "Bigfoot Turns 80" headline, but I'm not sure which episode it was. Ah, who knows, maybe it was from the Weekly World News of the year 3000.

The beat-boxing intro has grown on me--it's still scary though. And the alien language was pretty awesome/nerdy.

Leela's singing was one of the better renditions of "I Will Always Love You" I've heard personally.

Yeah it was okay, the plot wasn't as strong and interesting as some other similiar style episodes but still quite fun. But with the "One of these days Ndnd (spelling?)..." and the Scary Door ending, it seems like they were desperately trying to get various deleted scenes into an episode before Futurama was taken off air.

I liked the 3D Pipes parody, and the response of Lrrr to the tranquiliser. The beatbox remix was neat, but I would have probably enjoyed it more if I didn't already own the DVDs. The credits sequence was, of course, as other people have said, on the DVD's already. Bender's jokes got kind of tiresome, IMHO (but I think that was probably their point ).

Lrrr: This human's lower horn is one of God's creatures. A living thing. And all living things, large and small
Bender: In this case, small! Woooo!

Maybe Bender has seen Fry lower horn.

Oh, and for the record: It's "wang coffin", not "wang casket"
