They did like a test run a couple of months ago with an episode on a Sunday night I believe and as far as I remember it did fairly well.
Still, 2pm Eastern time doesn't do me much good as I will be at work. I wonder if they will be running Futurama on TBS while it is on hiatus from CN?

It's going on hiatus from CN? how come? That would be totally awesome if it came on at 6:00. Then i could get Futurama, an hour of Seinfeld, and then Friends. That would be nice.

It's going on hiatus until September or October, whichever month FOX gives them rights to the Season 5 episodes...but I am very happy. The only unfortunte thing is that Futurama on CN and TBS will stay at the same episode length (CN just aired 1ACV06 "A Fishful of Dollars" ) about until the hiatus. I wonder if TBS will get rights to the Season 5 episodes too. Oh well, and they're airing Family Guy too. Now all we got to do is have a miracle happen where billions of dollars fall on Cartoon Network's doorstep and they decide to produce more episodes of Futurama!...

I think it starts next monday, or something. But the TBS shedule on there homepage havent changed yet.

I agree with Coop.
I haven't watched TBS for quite a while now, but doesnt that channel censor suggestive language and scenes in favor of making a program more "family friendly"?  I have been told that it is a lost cause to try to watch james bond on TBS for that very reason. 
The main concern I have is that they don't try to censor or cut any scene of the show.

Ouch. You can't really do much cutting to Futurama, though, unless you completely remove Bender from the show.

I guess he's hoping for students being out of college around that time. 2PM is far from what I'd prefer (disregarding that I can't watch it anyway), but I've seen preteens watching and enjoying the show before. Having these see (too) Futurama can't hurt.
Best would be a rerun late at night, I suppose.

On censoring: TBS and CN are both owned by the same guy and CN already censored the zombie jesus parts on their 11PM airings. I fear that this will end up equivalent to the C4 version or worse.

Quite a few scenes have been cut out in several different countries. I heard somewhere that the stabbing-practice scene from Insane In The mainframe was cut out in the UK, and that "sweet zombie jesus" thing was cut out for Cartoon Network, as mentioned earlier.

Really?  What was the name of the episode in which the saying "sweet zombie jesus" was cut?  Most of the Futurama episodes I have seen are the cartoon network ones, and I do remember that in one of them I heard the professor say a line similar to: "I haven't seen that since the second coming of jesus".

So apparently it was Turner Broadcasting (not just Cartoon Network) that bought the rights to Futurama. So it didn't eat up all of CN's budget.

I don't think that TBS will cut any more than CN did. TBS is an adult-oriented station 24 hours, so the time of airing doesn't matter. (I believe there's a new FCC ruling that allows bad language between 12 midnight and 5am.)

Okey-dokey, just got done watching SP3K on TBS.  They ran it with 3 commercial breaks, like Fox, instead of one, like Cartoon Network, but they ran the complete credits, with no squeeze or voiceovers. 
Also, they had the little transparent "Superstation" logo in the lower right, but at least there were no giant animated lower third promos for American Juniors.
Nothing censored in the first episode, we'll have to wait for The Deep South to see if Zombie Jesus survives.

Well... it shows that it did good enough to come back. Of course by that time, I'll have all four DVD sets. I'll feel guilty about not watching, but my 200 dollar investment for the four sets will be a lot more noticable I'm sure.

By the way, Teletoon only seems to be airing McSeasons 1 and 2 over and over. Didn't they buy all 72 episodes? I'm sure they'd want to keep audiences and not air the same 29 episodes over and over. But then, they do air the same 13 episodes of "Ripping Friends" every single night, so we're probably dealing with a FOX intelligent level station here (but at least they promote it).

Of course I care. Friday's the one night they don't have Adult Swim. They picked the perfect night to air it. Unlike Family Guy where they air it on Wednesdays and it's going to be on at 11 anyway, this is being aired on a brand new day. Up go the ratings through the rooftop!

Rupert Murdoc is the man behind Futurama coming back... The only way Futurama is coming back, is if one of these three things happen, 1)NOONE bought the DVD's.  2) Rupert Murdoc is given a large offer for teh rights.  3) Groening kisses Mr Murdocs ass.  And I see none of these happening anytime soon.

TBS isn't competing with CN because they're both owned by the same people, unless CN got sold and I didn't realize it. Thus the appearance of FG and 'Rama on TBS. TBS, by the way, is an over the air station in Atlanta but a cable station in the rest of the country.

I dunno. On TV Tome, I once saw a bunch of geniuses debate on how to boycott FOX and get Futurama back on the air. They decided that they should tape the episode and watch it later. Ooo-kay.
