I think it's fairly obvious that the Giant Space Bees killed all the Giant Space Wasps and took over their hive sometime after the last crew was killed.

Do they lose their stingers? I might be mistaken. It doesn't matter though, they can get away with it no matter what because they are outer space bees.

Lines I liked in this one:

H: "Honeycomb big! Yeah yeah yeah!"
B: "Honeycomb small?"
H: "No no no!"

Prof: "Ordinary honey."
Leela: "That doesn't sound so dangerous."
Prof: "This is no ordinary honey!"

I loved this episode. The funniest part, where when leela thaugt that bender and the other where singing. And that they exploded.

All the times when she dreams, are great. And when Fry talks to her from the picture.

Just wanted to add some things after seeing it again...

I also do that with my cats in the morning and when my dogs were pups I did that too.

About the things Leela had in her box, another reason that she maybe DOES have feelings for Fry. Man, I got it bad... I can't get enough of the shippy stuff! I'm growing into another chick-flic girl, god! Still, I think what gets me is the perfect match Fry and Leela make. Yeah, that's what makes it so powerful.

Anyway, the ep was perfect except for the slight absense of laugh-out-loud humor. I've been singing the "bee happy' song all day in school!
"I've forgot how many hundreds of degrees below zero it is." Also, Bender's line: "I always wanted to kill all humans except one"- touching- from BENDER?! Anyway, couldn't ask for a better fic, Pat! Hope Futurama lives on thru fanfics! (I'll be writing 'em)

The only thing that I could say could make the episode better is if at the end, as it faded to the credits, Fry told Leela to wake up again. >

You don't remember? Leela worked there and knew that guy. It was shown a few times that he has always said the same thing to everyone who woke up from the freezing there.

Fry telling Leela to wake up one last time? That's an allright throwaway joke, but I'm glad they didn't end it like that. My heart sank when Leela woke up after Fry was regenerated from the royal jelly, so ending the ep with "Wake up" would really just be annoying.

Or maybe the last crew has been killed by bees and the Wasps ate the corpses.

Or maybe the professor wrote "wasps" on the enveloppe even if the crew was killed by bees. You know, the professor tends to forget things...

It was a great episode. Thank god for tapes and VCRs. I was in Bellingham, to pick up a friend who was gonna help me with a televison production, but she got sick... Anyway I was aon the freeway and missed it, I got home at 7:15. I wasn't going to turn it on in the middle of the episode and spoil it all for myself. So I watched it after i ended. But I still missed IT!!!

Anyway, I figured out right away that Leela had been stung and not Fry, since the singer did go right through him and rip Leela's shirt. The mark in the middle of the rip gave it away to me.

It was a great episode. Zoidberg's "I wish I could have removed the singer" was great with the empasis on the "G". and then the sound of the stinger being crushed as the coffin lid closed. The whole "Don't worry, Bee happy" song was halarious.

Overall, one of the best epsiodes.

You're understanding of human anatomy is a tad different than mine. Usually when someone is pierced all the way through, many vital organs and vessels are torn and the individual dies. When someone just barely gets pricked, they tend to survive. Of course this fails to take into account any poison that may have been injected.

The episode was good, no doubt about that. Because of Fry telling Leela that she had to wake up every other minute, I had an idea of what was going on.. I've seen that type of plot before (the dream in a dream-thing), but I can't remember where! Maybe it'll come back to me in a dream...

I think this episode was a very well-balanced one. Romance, humour, space travel, the PE crew... everything. And not too much of either part - which makes me rate it 88%. A couple more funny lines and subtle jokes, and it would reach my top-5 list!

This episode takes its place in my top 5 favorites. I LOVED the "Please Wake Up" parts from Fry. My favorite joke of the episode is when Leela says that the only things the old crew did better was "suck and die".

In all the humor in this episode was overshadowed by the plot line, that had me on the edge of my seat. I laughed, I cried, I LOVED IT!

It was a very strange, though okay episode...

I liked all the past-episode references and 'Walking on sunshine' played by that Scottish dude was very well done. Quite an emotional ending, but nothing compared with Jurassic Bark.

Overall, seems like this Futurama season is, just like Simpsons season 14, ending pretty well after a few weak episodes...

El Zilcho is right. Fry says that he loves her but has never been able to put it into words before in "Parasites Lost."

However, "The Sting" is the first time he says he loves her not under the influence of mind-altering chemicals or parasites, etc.
Quite a plot development if you ask me.

more to add: i don't really think it was THAT emotional, not like JB or LH.

ALSO the whole "it was a dream" is not rare at all. (most popular- Wiz of Oz) still, this situation was different. it was also BETTER than all those other dream plots

I didn't think it was a mood killer. Of course, it would have been if they said out of loud "pioo! you stink ! you have to take a shower..."

The way they said it (whispering) suited their complicity ; it was just in the right tone to make me have a last laugh without spoiling my mood ! it brought a funny final touch to this crazy ep...IMHO

Just got through watching it. Pretty spiffy. The ending was nice, and there were enough jokes to keep the non-shippers (which don't include me) happy. Loved the ST2 reference. The funeral was genius - ironically, that would have been a perfect way to end the show (if they chose to go on a sad note).

The plot I kinda guessed from when Leela got stung. Chalk it up to watching too many Voyager episodes ("Waking Moments" comes to mind in particular).

These last few eps (dang, only 7 now) really have a tone of finality about them, either intentionally or unintentionally.

Anyway, I'll give it a 9. Definitely fits more in the "Parasites Lost" than "Roswell that Ends Well" tone, though.

EDIT: Thinking about it, the episode of Voyager it most reminded me of was Season Two's "Coda". This blew it out of the water, though.

I agree with the comment posted on CGEF - cutting the show off when it's producing episodes like this should be criminal. Interesting to note that even with the present score of 89, the episode still ranks 19/67.

"Waking Moments"! That's the episode that kept alluding me. I also kinda liked the reference to "Demon" (although the Voyager ep stunk (no offence ))

I'm glad it wasn't as shippy as I had feared (or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough), but I think this was more a show of friendship and a guilty conscience, than true love.

Oh, non taken. "Demon" is possibly the worst Voyager episode (even worse than "Endgame" ). And then they made a sequel to it ("Course : Oblivion" ).

By the way, Teral, have you noticed something ST and Futurama have in common - the fans blame a person named Berman .

I also think this was one of the best episodes ever!

There was a lot of romance between L/F, I think that was nice, it gave us something to think about, maybe they are getting closer together.

And the humor, it was sarcastic, that's what I love in Futurama, that typical Bender-like humor, that Fry-stupidness and Leela was a little bit confused and messed up in this episode, but that was because she was in a coma.

The beginning was great ! The professor saying that they weren't good enough and finding that black box and the other ship. The plot was also very funny, I never thought that Fry would stay death, but I didn't guess it was Leela who had gotten the poison,
IT WAS FUN!

I didn't actually mind "Threshold" that much. If you can ignore the huge gaping plot holes, the silly plot, the...wait a minute.

Both "Demon" and "Threshold" would feature on my list of episodes I would not show to someone if I wanted to make them a Voyager fan.
