I wont give a vote for any single writer, as Futurama and the simpsons is a group writing process, so most writers have input on every episode

I'm going to go with Ken Keeler on this one, although it's definately a tough choice. He has the largest collection of my favorite episodes credited to his name, though, so he gets my vote.

Very hard decision, and I love eps by all the writers. But I guess I'd just about give my vote to Ken Keeler, because IMO his eps have a certain unique creativity in story. Loads of people comb over the scripts and make it what it is, but Ken Keelers initial story ideas still shine through, especially in 'Godfellas'. Also IMO, his stuff is more far out and wierd, but he explores what Futurama can do with Sci-Fi and the future setting. He's got a certain creativity but doesn't make it too wacky, the balance is right and very cool

edit - I also have high hopes for the last ever ep 'Devils Hands', especially as it's writen by Keeler   :)

J Stewart Burns, for writing to of the best episodes of the entire show: "A Head In The Polls" and "Roswell That Ends Well", both shows that rank very high on my top-10 list. His episodes are generally very funny and wellwritten.

            Honorable mentions go to:

            Ken Keeler for
              1ACV12 - When Aliens Attack
2ACV07 - Put your head on my shoulder
              2ACV16 - Anthology of Interest I
              2ACV18 - The Honking
3ACV14 - Time keeps on slippin'
              3ACV20 - Godfellas

            Brian Kelley for
              1ACV04 - Love's Labour's Lost In Space

            Dan Vebber for
              3ACV05 - The Bird-bot of Ice-catraz
              4ACV03 - Love & Rocket

            Eric Kaplan for
1ACV09 - Hell Is Other Robots
2ACV05 - Why Must I Be A Crustacean in Love
              2ACV09 - A Bicyclops Built for Two
              3ACV02 - Parasites Lost
              3ACV15 - I Dated A Robot

            and ofcourse Ron Weiner for
3ACV04 - The Luck of the Fryrish

I love Ken Keeler. He wrote some great episodes, and he seems like such a goofy, funny guy in the dvd commentaries. But out of pity, my vote will go to Lewis Morton. Zero votes? Come on, people...Amazon Women In The Mood. Brannigan Begins Again. The guy hasn't written a single bad episode.

Bill Odenkirk.  Sure a lto of hi episodes aren't "Great", but they're all pretty good, the song in How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back is one of my favourite Futurama moments, and the guy used to work on Mr. Show with Bob and David!  (We should all be so lucky to work on two brilliant shows!)

Oh, sure, just rip the rug of my argument out from under my feet, causing the rear end of my beliefs to land hard on the floor of reality.  I think I bruised the tailbone of my knowlegde.

OK, enough absurdist metaphor.  Thanks for correcting my facts.  I still like Bill, though.

Definately Ken Keeler followed closely by Lewis Morton. Keeler work has to be the most consistently best out of all the Futurama wrinting team (did that make sense) and most of his episodes are the series best.

Sadly some of the other writers on that list have been a bit hit and miss. Stewart Burns wrote My Three Suns and Roswell That Ends Well, two of my favourite episodes. But sadly he also wrote The Cryonic Woman. Likewise Ron Weiner wrote Luck Of The Fryrish, the most tearjerking episode ever but he also wrote A Pharoah To Remember which brings his points down a bit. My word that was long and probably pointless.

I voted Patric Verrone - mainly because I love The Problem With Popplers (2ACV15) and also because he seems like a funny guy.  But I love them all, they're such talented people, with special respect for David X Cohen, Ken Keeler, J Stewart Burns and Lew Morton.

Wow, Patrick M. Verronne is really inconsistent. "A Problem With Popplers", "A Clone Of My Own" and "The Sting" are regarded as classics, but "That's Lobstertainmetn" and "A Leela Of Her Own" are widely agreed upon to be the worst episodes ever.

:\ I'm so conflicted!

Hey! I actually thought A Leela Of Her Own was pretty good! Ah - matter of opinion I guess.  And That's Lobstertainment wasn't *terrible*.  The thing that seems to be forgotten is that there are so many different people contributing to each episode, that if an episode isn't as good, the writer gets the blame.  You gotta remember that every individual involved in each episode is responsible for it.  The writer shouldn't be made the scapegoat.

Ok, I'm done lecturing!

David X. Cohen's REAL middle inital is S, which is the name he went under while writing for The Simpsons. However, when they made Futurama - they joined some type of organisation for all TV shows. They don't allow any 2 members to have the same name, and they already had a David S. Cohen in there, so David decided to change his middle initial to X, because it went in well with Futurama's sci-fi theme. It can also be noted that J. Stewert Burns doesn't REALLY have a J in his name - he added it for the same reason David changed his initial.

Also, I'm voting for Ken Keeler, because When Aliens Attack, Put Your Head On My Shoulder, Time Keeps On Slippin' and Godfella's all kick ass.

I vote Patric Verrone. "The Sting" was marvelous, and "That's Lobstertainment!" was pretty good, "The (My) Problem with Popplers" has one of the better lines ("My hands...they're huge! They can touch anything but themselves!" ) and it introduces the Free Waterfalls I believe.

Close second is Ken Keeler for the song in "HHRHGB," as well as introducing the Omicronians in "When Aliens Attack," and ending the series       .
