Here is a report of the new schedule. It says that Oliver Beene will be on at 7:00 Sundays and Banzai (they spell it right this time) will be a midseason show. (The article I linked yesterday said the opposite.)

Just read this on CNN about the Fall schedule What seemed strange to me was this sentence: Fox has canceled "Firefly," "Fastlane," "John Doe" and "Andy Richter Controls the Universe."Also actually they didn't say anything about Futurama at all? May be I missed something, but was there official statement about the cancellation of Futurama or was it just the usual "Don't ask, won't tell." Btw, welcome Kipper.

This is sad. But instead of all freaking out, seems like there should be two things we need to find out.
1. What are going to happen to the already completed episodes 509-516?
2. What are the possibilities for the show to be picked up elsewhere?
Does it not seem likely that Cartoon Network can both a) run the last 8 episodes and b) consider picking up the series? Even if Fox (LAMELY) felt that it didn't give them high enough viewership, the same numbers on Cartoon Network would be awesome.

[Farnsworth] Hubba, wha-? [/Farnsworth] Wish I could say this surprises me, but after the way they treated Futurama's timeslot, it wasn't unexpected. They did the same damn thing to "Andy Richter Controls the Universe," which was very funny and got rave reviews from audiences and TV critics alike. But, typical Fox strategy, they moved it around so much that no one could follow, and now it is cancelled. Thank God for Cartoon Network! Their decision to run the old episodes is proof that at least somebody out there is looking out for Futurama fans. I wonder how any new show ever can become a true hit these days; even older popluar shows that everyone seeks to duplicate, like Seinfeld and ER, took a few years of average seasons to build up momentum and become the great shows that they were. I suppose it's the ultimate irony: There's nothing good on TV these days; thanks to the short attention span TV has fostered, nobody has the patience anymore.
