Are you sure?  I watched and didn't notice any cuts in the scene.

I could swear that I heard Fry ask the question, then the Rabbi Bot replies "We believe he was built and very well programmed, but he wasn't the messiah." (from memory so be kind).

So - are you telling me my ears heard silence and my brain automatically plugged in the word "Jesus"?  If so, I may need to cut way back on my Futurama.

Wait - I'm buying the DVDs today - damn - I'm doomed!!!

I didn't notice the removal of "Jesus" either. Maybe my brain just plugged it in, or maybe it was there all along. Not like it matters much.

They didn't censor it where I live.  I specifically remember hearing that because I had forgot about that joke.

yes we know about zombie Jesus. we dedicated a thread to it. but when Fry talked about robot Jesus it wasn't censored, nor was any other instance of Jesus in the show except those 2 in the episodes you mentioned. on CN you can't say Jesus in the exclamation, like "Jesus!" even though Stormy said it on an episode of Sealab 2021. 9_9

Wait a minute here, NOW I understand what HawkingHole4001 is talking about.  He doesn't understand why "Sweet Zombie Jesus" was censored but not "Robot Jesus".

All I can say to that is "Sweet Zombie Jesus" is sort of taking the "lord's name in vain" or swearing, while Robot Jesus isn't phrased as an exclamation or a swear.

It wasn't censored...
maybe it's a regional thing?

Because they don't like censoring They only did it the other time because losers threatened them since there is no specific complaints regarding the other use of the word Jesus they didn't censor and why would Jesus be censored anyway?

Know what's really offensive? Not owning your own unexpurgated copies of the DVDs.

There. Now they can't censor 'em.

Disturbing really.  How do you bleep out "f'n cry" on Family guy and "sweet Zombie Jesus" yet allow the n-word to fly about on the Boondocks and barely bleeped explitives on ATHF?

Futurama & Family Guy must get the conservative cenorship because TBS showings.

Sometimes I think Stewie is saying "laugh and cry" not "f'n cry". There are also two different intro songs. The older (?) version you can heard Chris and/or Bryan singing low notes at the end. The newer (?) one has only a high chorus.

well if you watch the DVD commentaries Seth MacFarlane say many times that it's "Laugh and Cry" Which really doesn't have anything to do with Futurama

You won't be seeing that kinda stuff when Futurama makes it's way over to Comedy Central!

Hell no we wont. Comedy Central doesn't get nit-picky about what they bleep. Mostly all they bleep are the really nasty words and stuff, but that's in the stand-up comedian area. As for cartoons, as far as I know, they could care less what they say. Cartoon Network has issues...  :nono:

I don't know what the mystery is. It's not just a CN thing, "Jesus Christ" is censored on most networks when it's used as a swear/in vein and it's not censored if it refering to the person or as a name. the end

Why does AS censor Futurama?  It seems that Family Guy is never censored when jokes like that are told.
