I also liked the bit where they were testing out their powers-

Leela: Ability to command the loyalty of sea creatures?
Fry: Hey Zoidberg, get in here!
Zoidberg (from out of sight): Screw You!

And the scene with Fry, Leela and Bender in the mayors office.

Mayor: Where are those daring crimestoppers?
Leela: Oh, I completely forgot. I left my apartment on fire!
Bender: Errr... as for me, I'm late for my LSAT's
Fry: And I can't take life anymore! (jumps out the window)

Actually this was a huge mistake made by the writers.
Since when does Zoidberg have money?

Gosh Leela is sexy in that superhero outfit!

Too bad the episode was an over-the-top yawnfest . . . I love Leela, but I hate her parents, and any episode featuring more than a minute's worth of the stupid un-funny mutant society gets an automatic 1 point deduction.

You know, the beginning was great. It had every mark of being a great ep. But, somehow, along the way, this episode fell absolutely flat. I guess I had a big idea that there was going to be more superhero-ing and less boo-hoo Leela's parents.

What? I loved this episode!.. Sort of.

This ep was my first Futurama ep that I watched on FOX (I watched most of it on CN) and I really loved it. Especially the New Justice Team song.

The reason Leela's parents were in there was because there had to be one thing that wrapped up the episode (Zookeeper trapping Leela's Parents) and was cool at the same time (we got to see The ZooKeeper's Hideout).

Hah I beat Rage Dump....!

Will post my review after I've seen it again, first viewing I loved it though, I thought it was hilarious....

Edit: Yep loved it even more the second time, some funny bits....

I thought "Gemerald" was clever

In the theme song, singing about Fry "Not just fast, but from the past"

And of course Zoidberg's "Screw you"

And well done Channel 7 for not showing "Leela's Homeworld"
Luckily I already knew she was a mutant from PEEL, but if I didn't I would have been confused....

You folks are nuts! (well some of you anyway) or maybe it is I who is nuts for laughing my rear off every second of this ep.
the song was incredible. And it was a good usage of Bender's character to make an opportunist super hero i thought.
Leela's parents weren't funny, but as Hawking Hole4001 stated, they provided needed structure to the plot.

Tropic of Fry--> YES! This was insanely funny. But don't say that Leela's parents weren't funny... Both the F-shirt joke and Morris blurting out with the big secret.. Half funny is what I'll dub them...
Also, the "You're pulling me!" line was brilliant.
The theme songs were solid platinum. I watch them over and over and over and over again. And then a couple of times more. They are abvious spoofs of TV-hero-theme songs like dabadabadabadabadabadabadabadaba-BAT-MAAAAN and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... "They are heroes in a half-shell and they're green" "When the evil Shredder attacks-them turtle-boys won't cut him no slack"
The New Justice Team's alter egos' excuse for leaving the mayors office to change into the outfits.. Hazaa!!! Hilarious!! "I left my apartment on fire!".
The whole Pi-kea joke passage was masterful. And why does the supercollider have wooden boards in the packege..
Zoidberg's storyteller voice is also filled with splendor.
etc. etc.
But the ending DID seem rushed. The Zookeeper won! What's up with that? So, the only weak point of the ep was The Zookeeper. Both as a character and as a plot-catalyst... But his minions were great...

"Go team, go team, teamteamteam" "Not just fast but from the past" "Also he's a robot" "Who does she beat up? YOU!"

I think that the episode was quite enjoyable, yet it went all out to be as silly as possible, so in places this will be very good (Bender's binary fighting bit and the Professor taking a nap) and in places it may well fall flat on its face (the Zookeeper, I just found him annoying). And yes, the Zoidberg joke was great, as he always usually is.

Great ep, but i think you really had/have to be into super hero stuff, like seen the old tv shows, cartoons and movies to find most of the jokes funny(or eaven get them), like i was
And that ikea gag was hilarious, my ikea stuff ALWAYS break down the same way the robot did.

What?!? I was one of the few who liked this ep?!? Odd.

I think some of the best senes came in the dialogue between the Zookeeper and Fry:

Zookeeper- THe superheroes are here, or should I say... Super Zeros!

Fry- That was uncalled for.

Zookeeper- Minion, fetch!
*Bird grabs Gemerald*
Fry- That seemed unnecessary.

And in teh ending credits son, ""Winners don't use drugs", ha, gotta love the cheesy anti-dug slogan bits.

But it did seem to lack something, and some bits just seemed dry, so I'd give it a B-.

Second to least favorite episode.

They really could've taken this further. I think it was a little out of character, and, I dunno, it just feels like this episode is an indication that they were running out of ideas (which I don't really believe..).

Anyway, it still had its moments, after all, it is a Futurama episode. Zoidy's: "Screw you!" was the best line ever. Fry's "that was uncalled for" is also awesome.

Leela and Fry's costumes were clool, though I didn't like Bender's that much for some reason.

Also good to see some zoo animals, just because I like how the artists draw animals in Futurama.

The point is that this episode is a take-off of old superhero movies.

I thought it was pretty good. Funny jokes, good lines ("And I can't take life any more!" ), decent plot. Captain Yesterday, in his costume is sex-ay

I rate it a B -

This is a small nitpick, but i hate inconsistency. Leela's hair is a lot longer then it's shown to be in LTH. It should go down to her waist. Like in Anthology of Interest 1 or in the comic where they all catch colds (i forget which number it was) again, small nitpick i know, but she's a major charactor, they should know better.
