I got bored of Old Man Waterfall. The "I'm falling apart" jokes got boring, except for:

Nice episode, did anybody notice that somebody, i am not sure if it was the waterfall guy, says at the end of the credits (thin ice, i know!) "freedom"?

Also, Zoidberg dancing on the table was a great sight!

Took me a week and a half to get the damn thing and it wasn't really worth it. I love Zoidberg as comic relief, but he begins to sound a bit lame when he's given heaps of dialogue. I agree with what was said earlier about the episode seeming a bit off, it was kind of forced, like the newer Simpsons eps. Not a great episode, in my opinion.

Well, I thought this episode was another average one. Interesting enough storyline, but not as full of jokes as I like .

3/5
Oh yeah - also, did anyone notice a guy that looked like the "legalisation of hemp" person in the crowd when that person was singing.

After veiwing this episode again I am beginning to like it even more. The satire in it was great. Old Man Waterfall is/was a great character - much in line with all the previous Waterfall characters in pointing out our conflicting views on freedoms and how we are not really free to persue our own interests. This was shown in both the courtroom scene as well as when he gets crushed by the Oppression Palace - people cheered that he was for freedom but were against him actually practicing it in the forms of poligamy, homosexuality and religion. Great stuff and shows a depth far deeper than him wanting to defend the rights of Zoidbert to eat a flag or limbs falling off.

Earlier in this thread it was mentioned that there are 5 Waterfall characters and I think there is another one that people forget. Along with the ones mentioned previously (Popplers, Ice-Catraz, Freedom and Futurama Comics 5) there was also another Waterfall character in Birdbot of Ice-Catraz. After Free Waterfall, Sr., is eaten by the penguins another character comes on and says 'I'll avenge you Pa!' Judging by that I would assume that he is his son and therefore has the Waterfall surname. So that would make a total of 6 Waterfall characters so far.

I think Free Waterfall, Sr. Pa was Old Man Waterfall in Ice-Catraz, of course you could only from a distance, but it looked like him.

On a different matter, this episode wasn't shorter than previous episodes.

Hey, I am in a posting mood, and I forgot to review this episode.

I thought it was disappointing. Back when That's Lobstertainment aired, everyone started saying "Zoidberg's only good as a secondary character", "all Zoidberg episodes suck", etc. I defended him, saying that just because the one episode misfired, doesn't mean that the character is worthless. I can see a well-written Zoidberg centered episode being great.

But this is just another Lobstertainment. Harold Zoid was boring, and now we see that all of Zoidberg's species are boring. Hardcore nudity is good, and there were some funny jokes here and there, but the episode practically put me to sleep. In fact, I'm sleeping now just thinking about it.

I hope this isn't the standard for the season.

Now that I've seen this one, I can say that I actually quite liked it. The better of the Zoidberg-centric episodes, I thought.

I liked Zapp's Freedom Day parade exchange with Linda and Linda's subsequent exchange with Morbo, that as well as the opening. Very good, not excellent.

Arooo. We're certainly getting plenty of Nixon this 'season'. Speaking of which, in (I think) three weeks, the UK catches up with the US. Somehow I doubt that Sky will be allowed to show new episodes before Fox.

As for the episode: as a one-time American Studies student concentrating on the politics side of things, the whole flag-eating section was a nicely barbed bit of satire against the kind of hard conservatives who genuinely believe that sullying a *bit of patterned cloth* is a crime worthy of imprisonment or worse, and I never expected the Decapodians to actually *win* the war and conquer Earth! Great CGI effects, as well. But a lot of the jokes were of the kind that made me go "Ha, that was clever" rather than actually laugh. And Sarge and others above are right - there should have been more naked hot tub action.

Booooooooooooring!

There were three good moments in the episode: Leela topless, the exchange between Linda and Morbo, and Zapp giving away the planetary defence codes. Other than that it was 21 minutes of tedium.

Anyone else pissed off about thier continual cutting off the end?
Also it is played faster than normal which i really don't like....

My bloody antennae was not co-operating tonight so parts of the ep got cut out as I was fiddling with it, but I got most of it....It was ok not laugh out loud but still watchable....I agree with others who say Zoidberg is better as a secondary character (WMIBACIL being the exception) even his constant "woop woop woop" while running away is annoying in my opinion)
Having said that, it was good to see the Decapodians (sp) again, and the 3D effects near the end were great....
Might be more enjoyable on dvd without the crap reception....

Come on Channel 7, 4 weeks until The Why of Fry, and then The Sting in all their glory....

And Alex, I saw the guy who is your avy in this ep....in the crowd near the start....

On second viewing, it was funnier, and here are the jokes I liked....

Bender saying he was hating Zoidberg before it was cool

Fry getting a "headache with pictures" (idea)

and the Decapodian leader saying "meh"...classic....
