I would say that this was a good choice to start the season off with. It was fast paced, featured Bender but not overly so and had a huge guest star in the way of Al Gore. Just to hear him say peace out is enough for me. I loved his little cape over his jar - had he done this stuff when he was running for president he would have won! I wonder if he had won if he would still have made an appearance on Futurama.

I had missed that Jedi reference the first time I watched this episode but when it was posted above it finally hit me what that joke was. The early robots were great - C3P0 and an early Bender. Bender in a speedo, Hermes in a speedo, Farnsworth in a speedo, Amy and Leela in swimsuits - lots of good stuff!

It makes me laugh to know that every time Wernstrum makes an appearance the entire Futurama community is thinking the same thing - Wernstrum! :lol Another fun little inside joke was the no gasps at Zoidberg's revelation on the motives behind the robot party.
Great way to kick off the new season!
RM

Good all around episode. The best part was Al Gore and his books. 8 out of 10 I'd say.

I liked this one a lot. Not quite an entire Bender episode, but it gave the PE crew a lot of play time. Nibbler has been given another moment, too.

I liked the early Bender prototype as well as the C3PO lookalike. And with the global warming film, I actually liked the greenhouse gases beating up the sunshines, great analogy.

Overall, pretty good. 4 out of 5.

I don't know why. George Bush Senior was on the Simpsons a few years back. (I know it wasn't really him, I'm kidding.) Is there anything wrong, though, with a politican voicing himself on a cartoon? Lousy republicans.

I hate FOX worse then ever now. They said that they would make it so that the Futurama Season Premiere would definintely be shown in my area, I even e-mailed them yet they lied again, extended that dumbass football game another half an hour and then didn't show Futurama afterwards. They said that they would show the full episode right after the game, but they lied and skipped over it! God I hate FOX.

i share your feelings... i dont think emailing them will do any good at all therefore i am about ready to call them and talk to the customer relations office or something to that effect... im not going to be mean or use any profanity, just explain the case and why so many people wish to see this great show... i dont expect it to do anything for futurama but you never know anything could happen

I thought this one to me was in the top three of funniest shows. To me the funniest (that I have seen) is still when Bender was henchmen to the evil Santa Claus - that is one of the funniest things I have seen on Tv.

Al Gore polking fun at himself was a kick.

The Nixon portrayal is hilarious! "from which there is no escape...from the fun!" And I wonder if when he was elected Governor of maryland in 1966 Spiro Agnew could have dreamed his name would be referenced on Prime Time TV in the 21st century.

Also like the Kyoto conference and the Professors' flashback to the early robot constructing and the hot/slutty 'Mom'.

BRAVO!

No, the fact that the book had to be about Harry Potter for people to care. And then we get into the wizard joke... it was awesome. Heh. Al Gore.

I also like how he was introduced as the inventor of the environment.

But anyway, you're right, the ep was pointing toward the Kyoto treaty.

Overall a good episode. Some week areas, like Amy, Leela, Fry and Hermes. They had way too little to do in this episode. Zoidbergs lines were good.

Otherwise great. Bender was, if slightly out of character, good, Farnsworth was great and Nixon was his own mad self. Loved that. Also nice to see Wernstrum back.

I loved when Morbo was gasping for air, and his head moved. Is Morbo related to Neelix? What a horrible thought, but they both have their lungs in their heads, apparently.

Liked tha Harry Potter angle, and the enchanter.

Al Gore was good, nice to see he only had a small part. It felt natural and unforced. Good work. The Agnew joke went completely over my head though.

Good episode, great jokes and decent plot. Not in the same league as "Roswell That Ends Well". I'm not sure if this was the best season opener, but Al Gore probably gave FOX some free publicity, so I can see where they're coming from. I mena why waste good promotion money on a show you hate?

Rating: 4 out 5

am i the only person concerned about these things on this board? (thanks - treaty - not resolution)
i think about these things alot - and think its great of futurama to bring things like this up.

i was shocked but not surprised - by america's standpoint on these issues.. (let our kids worry about enviromental problems .. see 'big ball of garbage')..

from an european point of view its the viewpoint of a child.. (sorry) ..countrywise i mean..

hope my second language is understandable.
