I thought the planets could make a good poll choice  . Which planet do you like best from Futurama?
I like the planet Earth the most, I think its better than the other planets in Futurama.

I like Earth, but they should rename Earth. Earth is such a boring name.

Vergon 6 was cool

Am I wrong or the PE crew never went to a planet similiar to Earth? I mean, with big and technologically advanced cities (not just small ones as seen in Zoidberg's homeworld or Trisol), big metropolis, with spaceships and cars flying everywhere, cool people, etc. etc. Even in Mars we saw nothing but only a little campus.

Where they held the Miss Universe contest seemed pretty with it in terms of big citys and there was that planet that Bender thought was Earth at the end of A Pharaoh To Remember - whether that was populated like Earth I wouldn't know..

For the sake of the poll, I'll go with Earth.  :)

Yeah but we never seen them. They're supposed to go in many amazing places (Sicily-8, Cannibalon, etc.) which we never see. Perhaps because savage planets are more interesting and civilized worlds could be boring? But Earth isn't boring!  :p

And Ebola-9 (the virus planet).

Maybe by not seeing them, it will make them more interesting.

yeah, perhaps... But I sincerly hope to see some strange world in the next "season".

if Earth is a so crazy planet just imagine a similar alien world with large and chaotic cities like N-NY. The major civilized planets we saw till now revealed us too little. Writers could make very funny plots about alien lifestyles, culture, glamour etc. And that's another point that makes this serie so great and full of possibilities....

Had to go with Amazonia - I just can't vote against Snu-Snu!

By the way, the robot planet is "Capek 9."  Named after Carl Capek, who wrote "R.U.R." in 1921, which lead to all of the robots populating Capek 9.  It's a good tribute, a nice reference, and a pretty funny joke, all in one.

I can't be too snobby, though.  Yes, I know the reference, but I have never read the book, nor do I know the meaning - if any - behind choosing the number 9.

The number "9" perhaps has some meaning. I don't know if you noticed but there's a strange guy who appears here and there in some episodes wearing a large dress with a big number "9" written on it. In the audio commentary of the Season 1 DVDs, David Cohen said something about this guy, concerning the fact they originally planned to make the society of future with people belonging to specific classes and levels - so I guess "9" indicated the level of that citizen. It was supposed to be a reference to "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley, where people were divided into different categories since their birth.

I have read "R.U.R."  It's a play, not a book by the way.   ;)  If there is any signifigance to the number nine, I don't think it's a reference to "R.U.R."

Amazonia, although Free Waterfall Sr's Pluto was cool (heh, I made a pun).

Best planet yet to be visited; Kif's homeworld.

Probably not, but I sure hope so.

Glab is the DOOP president, and Kif is XO on one of the fleet's mightiest spaceships, so obviously KIf's species is quite prominent in DOOP. We need to learn more about this species, and visit their planet.

In Osiris we saw nothing but some huge statue. At least in planet such as Chapek (streets, cinema, courthouse), Trisol (big royal palace) and Zoidberg's (spaceport, houses, beach, club, arena) we saw a little more... But that's still a bit far from what I would like to see of these alien worlds  :hmpf:

In the audio commentary of Season 1 DVDs David said that in "Hell is other robots" they were supposed to send the crew to a Roman planet, ruled by Centaurs. In one of the few scenes here, one of the Centaurs ate a carrot Fry gave him. Nothing special, then they switched their choice to Sicily-8 (which we haven't seen though).

Omicronians are the funniest aliens of the show, togheter with Morbo, but I dind't like their planet very much (at least for what we've seen).

When shall we see those gangster planets and cowboy worlds everyone's talking?!?   :laff:
