There are many great spaceships in Futurama, I'm sure I've forgotten some of the best, what's your favorite?

Here are some pictures I found of some of the spaceships:

Planet Express Ship

Titanic Spaceship

Nimbus

Nibbler's Spacecraft

If anyone has anymore spaceship images they would like to add, then by all means do so  :)

edit - btw, when I said Omorocian, I meant Omicronian.

I went with Nibbler's, perhaps because I only saw it for the first time today but it was so cool, I especially like the thing for his top eye  :laff:

Yes, it is pretty cool. Front-and-back-mounted teent boosters, a headlight (!), and that bitchin' fin. Poor Leela, she had to travel like that for ages with her hair caught in the dome...I'm afraid I can't vote, though; I'd have to go with the Planet Express ship, and don't want to be part of the massacre.

I could argue that the Planet Express Ship has it's own personality, but I get you drift ;)

I gotta vote for the PE Ship... only the coolest ships come with their own lion.

Is it my imagination, of does the PE ship look like Thunderbird 2?  Even the launch sequence in "Space Pilot 3000" was similar.

Planet Express all the way!

Oh, btw, wasn't the Nimbus modeled after a can of ham?  :)

I love the fact that the Planet Express ship is so damned cool, it doesn't even need a name!  Millennium Falcon, Enterprise, Excelsior, Heart of Gold - great ships, sure.  But they lean on their names like crutches.

I always picture Zapp saying, "this is the good ship, uh, Planet Express ship."

I was going to vote for the PE Ship, but the Omicronian's ships are just too cool in a cheesy 50s sci-fi kind of way.  They make that great "woo-woo-woo-woo-woo" noise!  :)

Gooooooooo PE Ship! It's just creativly designed. I can just imagine how long it took to create the blueprints and designs and such.

The PE ship. Watching it gracefully swoop in and kick ass in "Roswell That Ends Well" great. Highly manouverable, deadly accurate, the shields can withstand anything the Omicronians throw at it, and if that fails the windshield can withstand a head-on-collision with an asteroid.

And the voice was cool, both Weaver's and the original one. I hope the original voice return someday, I really like that one. "Ooops. Sorry! Muah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha.."

As good a cue as any to plug Payndz's Ain't No Such Thing As Too Much Amy Wong, which also houses ever-expanding blueprints and "goofs" involving the Planet Express Ship...

In the DVD set, Groening and company mention that they originally intended to have official, concrete blueprints which would act like a character model, but quickly abandoned the idea as too restrictive. Payndz works very hard to compensate for this...

Personally, I picture the ship as having a flip-open upper shell--hinged on the side along the red line--which allows engineering intern Amy to re-arrange the internal set-up at her whim.

(I now return you to your topic. Sorry.)

I really like the fact that the staff at Futurama knows about Payndz' page, they even mentions it. "We drive him crazy" (Groening? Cohen?)

So they do visit fan-websites. Nice.

Look at the pic of the Nimbus above, upside-down. It looks like an alien smiley-face. Or frowny-face.

Long before Love & Rocket I often thought the PE ship to be a personality all by itself - even if she's just a means of transport. The CGI with her in are always superb.  :D

No i think the Nimbus is definetely better because its a lot bigger than the Planet Express Ship. And it doesn't crash so often. You should also include that restaurant which Zapp crashed into the Amazon planet in this poll  :)

"She's built like a steakhouse, but she handles like a bistro."

Yeah, the flying restaurant was definitely cool too.

The explanation in "A Clone Of My Own" of how the Planet Express ship travels vast distances in short amounts of time is the ultimate high point of the show for me.  Gave me goosebumps.

Being named after a Mitsubishi van kinda put me off the Nimbus. Who am I kidding? I was going to vote for the PE ship all along. It's just too cool.

I voted for the Nimbus.  My second favourite is probably the Titanic - it's so detailed. After seeing Love and Rocket, though, I just couldn't bring myself to vote for the PE ship.

Oh, and my girlfriend, who's here with me, says the Omicronians' ship is best.

The Nimbus is a great ship, it's so huge as well. My favorite has got to be the Planet Express Ship though because it's aesthetics are so cool. Who'd have ever thought that green would suit a spaceship so well. I do rather like the Omicronians spavecraft's too though :)

Let's see....

A 3D PE ship is my wallpaper, my screen saver is PE Ship flying across the screen and I have the cool MAC action figure PE Ship sitting on my printer...

Decisions, decisions...

Like one vote ever made a difference.

I have to say other, the ship I am talking about is from AOI II. When the space invader's came from their "Old incredibly, Old school" ship down to talk to Fry and the other's, in the videogame wish.

On side Bender3000, your name similar and looks familiar (gives cockedeyed look)   :hmpf:

I really like the PE ship, it's simple, aerodynamically shaped (though it's not really necessary for space travel) and cool blueprints abound. It had even inspired me to do some CGI work on it.

But they forgot to upgrade the shields accordingly. That's gonna pull down.

I agree with the people who voted for the Nimbus. That's really an impressing spaceship. Big, hulky, awe-and fear-inspiring. If the PE ship wasn't in th epoll, I'd voted for the Nimbus.

But the PE ship is just too cool. Streamlined, manouverable, heavely armoured and armed, fast, spacious, what more can you ask for?
