There's also crustacean in love, which I'm pretty sure parodies an episode of star trek.  That's the only one I can think of that hasn't been mentioned yet...

Cider House Rules/Cyber House Rules...ok, maybe it's not a full episode parody, but it has the same title and one lame scene taken straight from the movie.

And if you just go by titles, there are a lot of references to movies and tv shows...my three suns/my three sons, amazon women in the mood/amazon women on the moon, the problem with popplers/the trouble with tribbles (a star trek episode), etc.  I know I'm missing a lot, those are just a few I can think of off the top of my head.

I also noticed that War is the H-word parodies "Starship troopers" in some ways.

"The Honking"'s title is a parody on the werewolf movie 'The Howling'. I guess they look for the werecar in Paris as a parody of 'An American Werewolf in Paris'.

'Single Female Lawyer' is obviously a parody of 'Ally McBeal'.

"A Fishful of Dollars"='A Fistful of Dollars'

"How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back"='How (some girl, don't remember her name)Got Her Groove Back'

"Parasites Lost"...well, there is a movie (and a band) called Paradise Lost, but that might be coincidences.

Many of these might be pretty obvious, but we want to make a complete list, don't we...

The trouble with tribbles...anyone remembers those fluffy little things infesting the whole Enterprise? Funny as hell, this episode of Star Trek Classic. When I look at it today, it seems like an ancestor of futurama...tribbles everywhere! popplers everywhere! HELP!

Wow! How the hell do you know all this stuff? Or was it a certain site called IMDB?

Also, being a starwars fan, in a lot of episodes they parody little pieces out of starwars, examples I can think of right know:

Bender falling, making an r2-d2 beeping sound.

The near death Star: death star

I believe in war is the H-word, you see the whole fleet flying, they wear the helmets from starwars and it looks like the redone scene from the "digitally mastered" Epi 4 "A New Hope" where they are on their way to attack the deathstar...

Also in Bender get's made (that also sounds like a movie title) when Fry is steering with the ropes and shooting, it looks like the escape scene from A New Hope...
I know there's more, but this is all I remember

Huh. I sure am stupid. I thought that "The Honking" was a parody of forgettable American Horror Film "The Haunting." But, now that I think about it, it doesen't make much sense. Doy.

I did a search for "movie references" hoping to find a thread just like this one. How nobody mentioned the Wizard of Oz parody from "Anthology of Interest" just boggles my mind.  ;)

So I resurrected a thread older than my baby niece just to tell you that.

That might have something to with the fact, that it has nothing to do with the title of the episode.    :p

Aside from that, score one for archaeology.

The first post was asking for movie parodies. The request being tied into titles was apparently just a divergence.

What sparked my original search was a revisit to "Slurm Factory" and my brain went "Damn this show has succesfully parodied a LOT of movies" and I figured that someone probably compiled a list for me.

I expect we can add some more movie parodies once we see the Final 8.  :)

Many episodes parody more than one Film or Series. I think the real parody thread is in the Re-Check/Weird Scenes Forum.

Kinda like how Anthology1 tweaked Godzilla and The Wizard of Oz?   ;)

What's funny is that several times during the commentaries the participants often profess to never have seen the movies they're riffing on.

Thanks for the tip. I'll go have a look.

It's because that episode hadn't aired at the time this thread was active.  Neither had anything else from broadcast season four.

Resurrecting threads this old should not be permissible. But, let's not close it and think of stuff from Broadcast Season 4 to add to the list.

And I thought AOI2 was Broadcast Season 4, not AOI1.

"The Scary Door" TV show is a parody of The Outer Limits.

The ice skating scene in Xmas Story is taken from A Charlie Brown Christmas.
