Account Suspension

After quite some thinking about it, I decided to get Kif's account(s) suspended for a month. He can read the posts here, but not answer. That is, if the ban works as intended.
This is the first account in peel's history which got suspended. I would suggest that you - Kif - think about how you handled warnings and other persons on this board.

I don't want to enumerate all my reasons for that decisions here. Some are pretty obvious - others arent.

The reason why I was really unsure about all this was, that it could work like a determent to others. That's not what I'm trying to reach. I'm fine and actually quite happy with things right now (besides some Kif related stuff which is still going on and a little too few ontopic posts).

I would like to use this occasion to invite anyone, who thinks that there is something wrong on peel, to mail me at
 the@sick-du.de (not just now, whenever you need to/want to). I might not always be your opinion, but it's valuable to me to get feedback.

I will leave this thread open for discussion. But please stay ontopic and _polite_.

PS: Kif, please don't try to evade this ruling. That would make it really worse. Email me in mid march, if you want your account back.

hmm, i said i wont enumerate them, but well, as he send me a list covering most of his things, here you go (exchange "i will (not)" for "i was/did (not)"):

1) I will try not to be mean to futurefreak
2) I may or may not be mean to iliketowankalot
3) I will not post useless posts
4) I will not waste 2 pages of the board talking to myself
5) I will not repeatedly say things like AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA over and
over and over
6) I will treat the moderators with "respect"

my god futurefreak, how old are u? if i recall correctly you are old enough to be at a mature stage.and even though i might get banned for saying this (mhh, sounds like the return of the dictatorship) i really do think u need to start acting more like your age.

and the most hilarious part is that u we all happy because he got kicked out. how low is that?

marc, excuse me saying this, but i don't think kif has been as bad as to get kicked out..

i wouldnt ban you for having an opinion, thats fine.

but _i_ think ff had enough reasons to be glad about kif being away for a while. maybe she shouldnt have said it here, but i think, she did it to show him how it feels to be unwanted. and sorry, after 2 or 3 ignored warnings (even better: agreed to warnings, but yet ignored later on) i have no doubt about having him locked away for a while. i considered what would be best for the majority of peel, and giving kif some time to think about it was what _i_ think was best. as you might see on the other threads, most here dont think he thought about it well enough though.

I like what JBERGES said there, I like also to stress his third point:

"Read the FAQ, check your spelling, and take it easy on the spam."

The FAQ he talks about is the PEELers' FAQ a quite nice read about "how to use PEEL" and what to do and not to do to be accepted. A big part you should take in account is the "check your spelling". There is no denying that we are "Spelling nazis". Just because this is an international board, and not all people here are native English talking people that can decypher what "sryy" and "plz" means. Since PEEL is a Forum/Message board and not a chatroom you have enough time to write "sorry" and "please" anyhow, you are not in a hurry here.

Make it relevant. Don't say "I agree" or "I disagree" posts. Typing two posts in a row is called double posting, which is apart of the double, triple, quadruple, and so on posting family. Don't do it. You won't get banned for doing it once, just don't do it again and again.

And never use chat speak. Like GFF said, we have foreigners. Don't replace words with numbers, letters, or use phrases like "brb". It's not just bad for them, it's bad for English speakers as well. It gets annoying. With time, you will learn.

Dude, Donald, have you read the post date? This thread's over five years old. Both the user who got banned and the user who banned him are long gone. Sit back for a while, chill out, observe how things are done around here, wait a little bit to start posting. You'll benefit more from it.

All I'm asking is, why can he not post if he's had the account for almost a month? All it says is that the administrator has not yet aproved his account or he does not have permission to post yet. So either mArc has way to little time on his hands, or there is something wrong with his account.

That was almost 5 years ago.  You're just finding that out?  And I thought that I was behind the times...

You do seem to be a bit of a weirdo magnet; I saw a post a moment ago that somebody else got banned because of making inappropriate comments about you.
