Current slow down is due to a temporary server change. Expect it to go away in the next few days when we're back on the old one. (technical difficulties)

Ah, so that's the problem.  I've been noticing the slow down for the past few days.  I thought the off topic board was going to crash again.

It's getting frustratingly slow for me right now.  I've only made about ten posts since Friday.

When i load pages (especially the homepage) i often get loads of boxed red Xs. This often happens to the new topic/no new topic images.
Any reasons?

Y'know, I've discovered that PEEL loads faster for me at home with a 56K dialup than at work with a dedicated DSL line.  It seems to "hang" on the DSL hookup, but loads every time quickly on my modem.  I empty my browser cache everytime I log off on my home computer, maybe the system at work is clogged with net sludge.  Who knows.

Go figure.  confused

I have had no real problems with the server. Maybe like Spice Weasel said it's because I have a 56k modem.

I have a 56k modem, and PEEL have been A LOT slower these past 6-8 days, compared to what's normal.

It's swings and roundabouts for me.  I'm on the 56k dialup at home and a T1 connection at work.

They're both pretty slow lately, but nothing that I can't cope with (much).  It's starting to get tiresome though.

mArc has already explained that it is due to the server, there is no need to stop "test" threads unless people get fed up with them, like they did with the "label" threads.

Well, PEEL died with a "CGI LimitReached" message first, then went all "Interner Servenwerventestefenergen" -iffy. Now it's fine, just slow-ish.

I talked to the server support guys today. They'll see if the problem is gone and move us back. If the error persists, we'll have to have a deeper look into it and it might take some more (especially as I'm not reachable by phone for them over the next few days). Has nothing to do with any test threads.

Cool.

Today, the board's been up-and-down like a brides nightie.  Kinda frustrating.

The slowness is nowhere as bad as the rx-7 forum.  Trust me, this site is far more enjoyable because there's far less traffic.

not ok!

Don't bump ancient, erroneous threads about nothing to raise your post count. It is frowned upon because it just makes the board spammy, slower and it makes it more difficult to find anything of actual value.

Nobody likes you anyway.
