We are definitely having a whip round at agi, and I would expect people to contribute at LEAST 2 pounds each, which would make in the region of 60 euros, i think. Because everyone seems to be poor! But as soon as we know how much we have we'll post it on the board, and then post it literally to you.

I can't send any money now, sorry.  frown Maybe soon-ish, but not soon.

2 pounds? What kind of pathetic scabs are you? I was going to throw in a tenner. I would've sent previously but once you exchange the money and actually send it, a tenner really doesn't seem worth it...

Well, i'll probably bring about £5, on £15-£20 a week myself i'd of expected more from you lot.

Also, use the post-office, since there's no comission charge.

Woah, slow down there. We haven't decided on anything at all, Mel was simply giving an example. We'll pass the hat around and people throw in whatever they feel like contributing.

And it's still voluntarily. If people don't/can't contribute, I'm completely cool with that.

I'll be pretty disappointed if anyone give those who don't chip in a hard time in any way.

^ Agreed with that.  No-ones bending anyone's arm.

I'm gonna chuck in what I can, which hopefully will be around a tenner.

It's short for "Another Grand Idea"  the first PEEL inperson meet.

It's short for "A Grand Idea" actually, and it's now the term used for any [UK/London] PEEL meet.

Well, thanks to all the generous souls who threw in, we've got the princely sum of £160 collected.  Which is enough to pay Marc's bill this time, and enough to contribute towards next time.

How much did the US AGI get?  wink

Using a currency calculator £160 works out as around 230 euro's.  However, exchange and commission will bring that down, but it'll still be over 200 Euros.

Dunno, we passed all the money to Booze, because he'll do all the stuff through the bank in Germany.

...and we trust him.  (of course!)  smile

Yup. Go Booze! I'm sure Marc will see this and give you the info, Booze. I mean, Bend-err. Aslate: and no, we wanted to do it with no risk ie not sending cash in the post, so it's best for Booze to do it. Who wants £160 to go missing... or even to risk it? You can't do it via the net from an English bank. Or at least, I certainly can't.
Anyway, Booze will sort it all.  big grin

Why did i say converting at the bank? I meant at the damned Post Office, i know that's where my mum's done some of our conversions when we go on holiday.

Well, thanks again to the AGI goers

Once I get the AGI donation, I will have enough money for the next 6 months (plus some server extension).

This might sound weird, but, stop donating for a while  wink I don't want to have much more than we need. We can get concerned about it in 3 to 4 months again then. Maybe I got some other solution by then, who knows.

I guess the AGI whip around happened when I was lost looking for that British tea (?)  I even passed the money around the table at the hog's head! 300 Norwegian kroner it was, or about ?36.
Oh well, I'll send them in the mail then. Like I originally intended [/dramatic finish]

But the official AGI numbers can be increased to about £185. Let's go for 200 in Amsterdam!  smile

woo! we rule! every agi should have its little peel fund raiser, if you ask me.

also, another idea of financing the forum (if everything else fails, that is) would be to steal b3ta's idea and let people buy something like litte icons (yet to be designed, could be added below the rank-stars or something). if you donate something, you can choose an icon. every 6 months, the icons change.

Someone should bring a video camera to the next AGI. If the whip around doesn't net enough, it's time to play "Blackmail!"

"We'll be showing you more of that movie later ... unless we hear from Sammy or Andie."

Anyway, this is awesome. Very generous of the AGI'ers. yes, I know that includes me, there are no passing strangers in my little town, so I need to pat myself  tongue

I received the Mammon wetting AGI contribution today. That brings us to:

Current status:
  25 CAD
+ 40 USD
+ 253EUR
= 305EUR

Needed for next half year: ~235EUR (due to more webspace)
Payment for December to May due: December 6th

Fundlevel after that: 70EUR

So, we are clear for the next 7 months.
I hope to have a cheaper solution ready for the half year after that (changing server or so), but I couldn't do that quickly enough for this one.

Thanks again!

Hell yeah... we can even do the auctioning of custom ranks in person. Slimmy suggests them - we buy. The money is then given to Bend-Err as per before and passed on to mArc.

I bid £5 for SleepyMcSleepSleep.
