My PC crashed last time i was making comments, i'll be brief:
A) No design
B) No content

Open the site when you have a decent content base, and then maybe work on a design.

If you're looking to start a real site, pay for it and get some people to help out also get rollover and map images for a cool design

There's not much content, and the design isn't all that good, but the thing I'm most bugged by is your forum.

My suggestion is to have 1:15 board to active poster ratio. Now, I don't mean 1 board per 15 active posters, but to have that many more before you make a new board.

Or something like that...

I don't think you understood what YLB said. You have a 12:0 ratio of boards to members now. YLB suggested that you should have about a 1:15 ratio of boards to members. Basically what that meant was you should have about 15 members (more or less) before you make another board. You could easily use just 1 board for every topic (as there's currently no members or posts). Or you could do just Futurama Chat, Offtopic, and News and Questions/Feedback. Something like that, just take out some boards basically.

I hope you understood that.  :)

Number 1: Use of JavaScript rollovers and imagemaps != design.
Number 2: JavaScript image rollovers are soooo 1997.  Right up there with statusbar scrollies.   :p

f_r: Use CSS to lay out your page.  It's child's play to make a site look pretty using CSS, and no horrid messing around with tables to layout your page.

That, and you have wayyy too many forums, and I have a certain dislike for the forum software ProBoards use.  Just goto the older threads where I was more of a web-standards-zealot, and see.

You also use bitmaps for your images.  Turn them into PNG, and if you need a free (good) image editor, use The GIMP.  You'll probably want the 2.0 series, as they have spiffy GTK2-ness.  Which looks much better than Gimp 1.2, which uses GTK1.

And chucks is right, you need a better site to be able to support a messageboard.  If anything now, the peak of Futurama fans was reached 2 or 3 years ago, so you shouldn't really make new boards.

Edited (speeling mistakes)

Screw that... use irfanview... it's possibly the best freeware image editor out there... Of course it isn't an image creator like say PSP or Photoshop, but if you need a resize on the fly, or the like, irfanview will be your bestest best friend.  :D
