 http://www.slurmfactory.co.uk

At one half of the site, we have Robot Hell (at http://site.slurmfactory.co.uk  ), a futurama fansite that non-posting PEEL member Slurms_Mckenzie, some non-peeler called Matt, and I (with a submission by Shadowstar, thank you) have been steadily working on since october.

At the other, there's a message board at http://forum.slurmfactory.co.uk  , yes, I know, it's another message board, but this is the fifth version of the forum, finally hosted by ourselves. We've done the best we could to make it a good forum...

Well, that DOOP sign sure looks good... Maybe because I did it.

And the "DOOP FAQ" smells like "CGEF FAQ" with a bit of rephrasing, too...

You still need to learn to do things on your own instead of hoping no one will notice  ;)

oops, i forgot about that... the logo i used from cgef was just meant to be temporary until I made my own, but I just kept delaying it... as soon as I get a framegrab from someone i know from the season 2 dvd i'll make my own and replace all the appearances of the icon with my own scan. Sorry about that.

edit: done.

Cool design in the Robot Hell website, and you have some nice info about the robots.

Bigger/alternative layout for those on a higher resolution? I use 1280x1024 which is quite a majorly used resolution and that looks tiny. If it was centred and stretched down the page vertically it would be better.

Only the first few things are big flamey things, the rest are nicer  :)

First of all, that site colourscheme is a killer on the eyes.

Please kill this program.  iFrames suck, and I'm limited to the amount of page I can see by your site and not my screen resolution.

You've named your '<div>s' with the id tag, yet you keep your style in the tag, rather than referencing it from a common CSS file... when your page is nice and flat, and theres no iFrames, this'll speed up the loading of your page (not having to reload the style each time).

Your news page needs <html> tags, a <title>, a <head>, and a closing </body>.

The episode guide is good... where it says there is 'no review thread', you should give your visitors the oppertinity to create one?

With your framegrabs, you may want to organize them by episode and by charatcer, so if someone was looking for framegrabs from 1ACV01/Space Pilot 3000, they could click a button and see framegrabs just from that episode.

It's good you used Flash for your games, making it crossplatform  :)

I'd be careful having scans of the comics... FOX might hunt you down and steal your children.  They're a little smundged in parts... so you might want to put a big dictionary ontop of the scanner when scanning them to keep them flat.

The scans are very good, very clean... :D

With your forum, I notice you're using an unregistered version of ipb.  Go a copy of phpBB, it does everything ipb does, execept subforums (but that's coming in the next major version of phpBB), and is free... so ips won't come after you for money  ;)   There are converters you can use to keep your existing members and messages  :)

We did try using phpbb at first, but it had a few problems with the name of our database (which can't be changed), and when we tried to install the subforum mod (using easymod) the whole thing collappsed and we couldn't remember how we had installed it. So, we just went with invision.

Both websites appear to be working.

However, recently we had some server trouble, but that has all been fixed now... and as far as I know, it was fixed quite a while before your post.

With all due respect, he can't really be held responsible for the comments made by his members.
