will we get more Leela puzzles? Specifically some shippy ones?
Well, maybe a little Fry & Amy 'shipping...

(I dunno why the puzzle doesn't appear yet, I'll put up a couple more eCards and see what happens... it's been a long time since I wrote those scripts)

Me asking for shippiness is odd and frightening i know, but i was bound to see the light sooner or later. So anyway, how about FemJ's wedding pic? Or her Dinner at Elzars, do you think she would mind those being turned into puzzles?

I seem to be having major problems with TLZ.  None of the images seem to load correctly, and after I visit the site, every other place I go seems to have the same problem.

Venus: I'll put the wedding one up tomorrow; can't find 'Dinner at Elzars', though that could be a normal side effect of trying to find a picture at 4:30am.

Unknown: that's weird, what browser are you using? I know we're using a behaviour script for IE in order to show transparent PNGs correctly, so maybe that's screwing up something... I'll ditch the thing in the next layout change.

i saw Dinner At Elzar's earlier. It's on Femj's fanart page. I think either the 2nd ot 3rd page.

Oh and could you make sure you upload the color versions and not the black-and-white, cause those would be way too hard to put together.

Here you go. Turns out I had forgotten to put the right path in the Puzzles updater last time we changed servers (thanks to that Fox C&D) so the index wasn't being updated. New eCards/puzzles: Dinner at Elzar's, Kiss The Bride (FemJesse's wedding pic) and Leela Minogue (for the Leelaholic guys).

One question. If anyone here is a member, how do you send ur fan fics? I tried emailing the people who created the site by clicking the link but nothing happened. How?

On the left menu of TLZ is "Send Hatemail", which serves not just for sending us plenty of hate mail (always welcome), but also to ask questions and send stuff in. So, click one of those links to email one of us suckers... I mean webmasters. Clicking on it should bring up your email client. If you use webmail, then just right-click on the link and choose whatever looks like "Copy Link Location" or "Copy Email Address" (not sure what it is in IE, because I have been lucky enough not to have to use that browser for some years now) and paste that into the address part of your webmail compose page.

If you did that already, then sorry for the delay. Maybe you should send it again, because sometimes things do get mislaid.  :(

Now, let's await this thread to be deleted by mysterious powers.  ;)

Also be sure to label it as Futurama content in some way; write "Fanfic for TLZ" or something similar in the subject line.

The TLZ mail-accounts get a ton of worm/vira/hacker-mails. A few days ago I even got an email with the word "Futurama" in the subject line and the dispatch address, yet it was one of those badly concealed ZIP-worms.

Other than that, just follow Graham's instructions.

Yeah. TLZ is the most awsome Futurama site on my list:

1. Leela Zone
2. CGEF
3. Farnsworth.tk

I love that they have regular updates with lots of content.

Also the widescreen design is awsome for me since I'm a 1280x1024 user.

Thanks to all the webmasters of that place.

I agree. It's one of the finest Futurama sites I've been to. Can't really use the wallpapers though because my computer uses 1400 x 1050 pixels and the closest they have is 1280 x 1024 which, if I use is a little pixelated but no biggie really.
I give the site 10/10
I love the daily updates. I've never seen anything like it.

Don't worry, the site's still The Leela Zone at the core (same bunch of insane webmasters, and all the content that was there is still there). The change in the slogan and de-Leeling the layout have two goals:

1) Get more non-Leela fan stuff for the site, because even when we _say_ every other update that we take non-Leela fanart, fanfiction, wallpapers and fanwhatever, we STILL get a vast majority of Leela-only content.

2) Attract more people that don't care about Leela, because the site has a bunch of non-Leela content that gets a bit overlooked because of the Leela-centricness of the title and layout.

Goal 1 is a priority; goal 2 could be a nice side-effect.

The original idea was to simply change the name of the site, but we figured we'd have visitors rioting if we just did that. So we added a subtitle, slogan, or whatever you want to call it.  If people don't get the idea and we STILL get just floods of Leela-only content, I may just have to register www.futuramaondrugs.com....

PS. I may just have to set some script to let people select between a Leela-centric layout and a multi-character layout to prevent rioting, it seems -- Faris, I got your message, as well as a couple others :P

To be honest, The Leela Zone has been "de-Leelaed" (must look up that word in the Oxford English Dictionary ) for some time, considering that we have been accepting non-Leela work for some years. The site will still cater for Leela fans, but we felt that we needed to emphasise that we're not a Leela-only site and, as Leo has said, take any Futurama-related stuff.

I suppose the way that Leela-centric fans could combat this is to send us tons of Leela-related stuff to weigh against the non-Leela content we get. Sometimes I say too much...  <IMG SRC="http://peel.gotfuturama.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif">

No offense guys, but I don't like it.  And I agree with Venus about the site being de-Leelaed.  You just have to look at the title bar where the "Futurama On Drugs" slogan is several times larger than the site's name.

I can understand you wanting to include more non-Leela stuff, especially now the show's been cancelled and the fan contributions will inevitably start to thin out, but if the current layout's anything to go by TLZ's in serious danger of losing it's identity and becoming just another Futurama site.

Congratulations on getting 1 million visitors gentleman. You have all done a superb job in getting the website so far.
I agree with Fred and Venus about the layout. One of the great things about TLZ was that it was dedicated to Leela. You will disappear into the crowd if this keeps up.

Yes, that would be a great idea, having both layouts operating at the same time, I know another site (non-Futurama) that has 2 different layouts that the users can choose which one they like. Please, please do it.
I liked seeing all the pics of Leela at the top of the page, also I'm a 1400 x 1050 user so it fitted my screen perfectly before.
Please do it, it would be a great idea!

Congrats for 1Million visitors, but I have to agree with PCC and the others. The Leela Zone was unique with its Leela-theme and now, although it isn't a bad layout, it looks like one out of the huge amount of Futurama Sites.

I think you'll find that we got that million due to the contributions from fans, the webmasters' updates and hard work, and other such stuff rather than what the site was called.

The issue is that we are trying to branch out, and although we've been doing that for some years now, we still get emails from people asking if we'd accept non-Leela work, which we do. I can understand the confusion, seeing that the site is called The Leela Zone, so we thought we'd try to make it less subtle for our casual visitor and the non-visitor that dislikes/hates/loathes/despises Leela but doesn't realise that we don't just cater for her fans but cater for all the characters' fans.

I don't think the site stood out just because it was called The Leela Zone or that it centred on Leela, I feel it stood out due to various other factors that I mention above. Still, maybe we're wrong and will bomb, but we'll just have to see if that's the case or not.

So, who wants Classic Cola back?

We read your comment there, here, and in the mail. We already know Faris Hates FOD, so don't worry.

As for changing the layout back, it's been up for one day. Let us finish collection opinions before we decide what to do. You surely suffered worse layouts at my hands, so you can wait a few days, don't you think?

Considering the current feedback, it's unlikely the slogan "Futurama On Drugs" will stay -- more because of the people who took it the wrong way (thinking it was actual drug endorsement) than anything else. We're still going to add another slogan in the next layout, as soon as I think of one. 'The Futurama Insane Asylum' looks good for me...

As for the next layout:
- Widescreen look: most likely.
- Other characters besides Leela: yep.
- FOD slogan: not likely.
- Non-Leela content: definitely staying.
- Lots of new hatemail: highly probable.

Several people complained that the FOD slogan was more visible on the layout than the title of the site itself. Well, you KNOW what site you're visiting, after all, so I don't see what the big problem is -- we've had several layout that didn't say "The Leela Zone" at all. I think I'll just include the acronym "TLZ" in the next layout and leave the name out completely... always good to see so much hatemail in one day.

I really do think a few of you are taking the Futurama on Drugs thing a bit too seriously. It's meant to mean that the webmasters are acting as if they were on drugs, not that we're advocating taking them (although what adults do with their bodies is up to them, IMO, but that's another story for another thread). I mean, do we get this uproar when Bender goes on a booze marathon? Do we get upset because Hermes partakes in taking weed? No, it seems that we don't do that, for we realise that this is comedy, edgy comedy if you will.

Anyway, as Leo has said above, due to taking things too literally by some, we are probably going to remove the Futurama on Drugs logo and replace it with either Futurama Insane Asylum or Futurama Communist Utopia.

Kidding on the second one before McCarthy rises from the grave and kills us all. :P
