Here is my latest project/crazy scheme/reason for neglecting school: A Farnsworth fan-site.

It's not that full of content at the moment but I hope more people will start making Farnsworth-related content and submit that.

It's a small site made with beginners html and a lot of ambition.

I myself will try to add as much content of my own as possible and I'm working on it every day with both the coding and the content making.

I will continue to work on it until it reaches the status of "Worth a second look".

I would very much like your input on how I could make it more user friendly, better looking and more interesting.

Other comments are also very much appriciated.

The site is made to be as 800x600 friendly as possible but it's not optimised for 640xwhatever , so side-scrolling is to be expected for 640xwhatever users.

However: I will not make my own thumbs for the framegrabs section. I know that it would be faster to load and look better but I really don't have the time or will to make 2202 thumbnails.

"Farnsworth's" has an apostrophe in it.

Don't have the time to make 2202 thumbnails? Get Irfanview as it will batch-produce thumbnails for you, just tell it to batch convert, shove in the desired image size and you're done. Alternatively a script can be done in PSP to do the same thing.

Not a bad site, you've got no competition and i hope you do well for yourself! Oh, don't worry about 640x480 compatibility, if anyone's still using that they don't deserve to browse the web.

Good layout you have there. You should create headers for each category of the menu and try not to use Times New Roman in your design.

The design's a bit plain, and I suggest you put a disclaimer somewhere at the bottom.

The content you've got at the moment's really good though.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That's the noise of me reading a well desingned, informitive, non-garish-coloured site. Not often heard in this section of the board

Ok, maybe it's still a lot of work. If you want to try using thumbnails, you may be able to work out if you can use find/replace to do what you want. If bandwidth is an issue you may have problems with that page.

I'd try using textpad to write your HTML, it's a nice editor.

There's a problem on the framegrabs index page, the last few episodes go out of the border of the site.

Yeah, the <basefont> tag doesen't seem to work. I'm going to replace that with <Font> instead. I'll set the face to "Arial, Tahoma" since almost all computers seem to have Arial.

I tried adding something to the Video section today but this tag didn't work:

I've been working on a frame design to test out now. >New design<

This design will make it possible for me to add and remove sections whenever I want to.

The site will still be user-friendly even for 800x600 users.

The only noticable difference except for the layout will be that when scrolling down the menu will still be visable.

Another noticable change is the name change from "Farnsworth's Laboratory" to just plain and simple "Farnsworth.tk".

About the thumbnails:
Photoshop 6 has a built-in function to produce thumbnails.
It's under File/Automatisation/Webgalerie (poorly translated from German).
This will set up a page with thumbnails to click on but if you don't like the page it produces, you can erase it and take only the pictures...

Yeah. The same thing that happens to almost all new fan sites happened to me to. I was relying to much on other people to submit content and such and was to lazy to make it myself.

I could put it up and let it be cold if I feel like it.
