Stealing?

Well, I checked out that www.futuramauk.co.uk  site and everything. It has a lot of the same icons and content like that on TFO. Are they allowed to use the same icons and content like on other sites?

No, they shouldn't.

Nope. Some people think it's ok to steal content for other sites. They don't see it as a serious problem, because sites like that are "just starting off", and plan to later replace the stolen content with original content. Although I can understand their wanting to have a nice website (copying is the highest form of flattery because it shows you're doing something right), it's still wrong. Even if they link to wherever they got the content from, they need to specifically say, "We got this from The Futurama Outlet" or something. Otherwise they are still trying to pass the stuff off as their own...

about the stealing... I think it's how all sites began... using someone elses content, but ofcourse not stealing everything, by god my old futurama page had alot of stuff that wasn't mine that day... but well now I learned to create own content and I LOVE IT. I don't say it's ok to steal everything in a beginning site, but don't attack people that are using a scan or 2 from your site.. I AM NOT REFERRING TO THAT STEALING site you mentioned... he steals everything and that's baaaaaaaad...

I don't see what the big deal is... I steal all the time. Hell, where would we be without stealing? Everybody steals... Even you! Don't try to deny it, you know it's true. Wait what was my point? Oh yeah, stealing is bad. Or is it?

ok i admit it... I stole this computer,it isn't mine... and no I didn't create windows 98 (FWEEW) bill gates did who in his turn stole it from some other guy... WE ALL steal  hehehehe

Just because we all steal, it doesn't make it right. I try not to steal and come up with something original.

It's not going to kill anyone of you steal a small amount of content.  The only one it WILL hurt though is you.  If you take another site's stuff, why should people visit your site?

Be original - use new and creative stuff, giving people a reason to visit your site!

They should at least say that they got the content from TFO.

I don`t think The Futurama Outlet cares
so much about people stealing from them,
because I`ve(probably others too) seen
way too many sites stealing stuff from TFO.
If they should try to get webmasters to remove all that is stolen from TFO,they would probably need a own person to do it!
and I don`t think they would spend time and money for that....
hehe. 

Anywayz,stealing from other sites is bad,but some sites will allow "stealing" or "borrowing" if you make a link back to their site.

Well, they didn't even give any credit to TFO or to the people that submitted the stuff they sent in. They posted up drawings and junk not saying that other people made them. TFO knows about it now and Robert is mad about it. He hates it when people do that. If you know more sites that do that, he would like it if you told him.

 www.futuramauk.co.uk  finally gave credit to TFO in an update. I e-mailed them myself too on how they need to give credit to them.

Yeah and then someone goes and points it out and everyone says "yeah this happens all the time the subject starts to stray" and then everyone starts to talk about how the posts start to stray and we forget what we were talking about in the first place, and... what was my point? Oh yeah, stealing's bad.... or is it?

I don't realy have anything about stealing Offline (If you're a poloce guy, please don't kill me), but stealing another persons contact and stufff for a web page just plain SUCKS.
