The Futurama Dome is closed Down

Hi, I have decided to close down my site. Maybe forever or maybe just till summer's over. If you have any comments, pleez post here!

Well, that's too bad.  I know what it's like though, as I have quit working at my (former) site, Planet Roadmap.  Luckily the other webmaster, Jason Barnabé, kept the site running.

Before you erase your site, maybe ask if anyone else wants to run it for now.  Or if you are shutting it down for good, maybe give the content to another small site that is just starting.

Damn, Chris I really hate to see you go.  You were one of my few supporters when I was having so much trouble with my website.  Take the summer to think about it.  Who knows, you just might miss all the hard work and sleepless nights we webmasters enjoy so much.

Don't shut it down because of that!!  Keep building the site, and the visitors will come!  When I started Planet Futurama just over a year ago, it took about 5 months for it to get over 40 hits a day.  It then took off and got about 200 hits a day.  I then merged Planet Futurama with Roadmap to the Futurama and Planet Roadmap ( http://pr.morefuturama.com  )was the result.  I don't work there anymore, but it still gets like 250 to 300 hits a day. 

And only a year ago, AYNIF (co-founding site of CGEF) wasn't nearly as popular as it is now.  Keep up the work and the visitors will come!

I started my site, futurama uncovered, on febuary 15th. by early may, i was getting 50 hits a day, now, late may, i'm getting around 67 daily hits.some little site predictor service said that if the current statistics continue, i'd be getting at least 150 a day by the end of the year.

the moral of the story is not to give up. 

keep it going, it has tons of potential, ya just need to work on that design :P

Oh, and that thingy I posted up there about the site predicter was wrong. I'm allready getting 95 daily hits. Now the predictor reackons it'll be 200 a day (I don't think that'll happen sumhow...  )

Anyway, it's cool ya gonna be re-openeing it

It took me three months to get 1000 visitors.  I don't think my web host (Homestead) could handle some of the traffic you other webmasters are talking about.  But that's okay because my website is specialized and not for everyone.  Hell, sometimes even I don't like it.

hahaha sounds like my site, even though yeah it doesn't get amazing #s at all it has done much better than I expected, but even though I'm getting more and more hits I'm getting few people to post under the POLLS!!!!! COME ON PEOPLE IT IS A PAGE ABOUT FREAKIN' POLLS SO JOIN IN!!!!  sheesh o~well I'll keep on trukin'.  You gotta do What you gotta do.
