I was at CGEF and suddenly this window opened:

Quote
Warning by CGEF!
Your browser appears to have a parasite installed, which can present you with unwanted advertising (including popups), compromise your computer's security, may invade your on-line privacy and steals money from sites like Can't get enough Futurama. The parasite does not originate from Can't get enough Futurama though.
The program Ad-aware can remove most parasites.
Your system is infected with:
VLoading (info)
Your options now:
Info on removal (recommended by CGEF!)
I like being infested. Leave me alone with my parasites and close this window.
What's that? It looks to professional to be just a joke of some internet jerks, but I'm not sure about this.
What can I do?
What are those parasites?
I need help ... *looks around for any help possible*

EDIT: Thanks Paul for helping me.  :)
Tweek, it's your honour to close this now.

Not a joke, it's a genuine warning. You must've installed something that in turn installed "VLoading" (used for porn 0190/0900 dialers)

See that you get rid of it because it can cause heavy phone bills (if isdn or modem installed) and run arbitrary programs on your computer.

Paul has told me about Ad-Aware and where to find it. I did and used it and I was really shocked how much spy ware there was already!
I think everyone should scan his/her computer for those spy ware/parasite thingys, cause just with an e-mail or while visiting a normal site you can get those dialer programs.
http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/  <-- AdAware for free to save your PC.
...
May those idiots who created this spy ware/parasites burn in hell soon.

Hell yeah, my computer has 128 meg sdram and 1GHZ processor, it takes likr 20 seconds to IE explorer just to start up. I cant be bothered to get it all tho, id rather just concentrate on my new comp.

I'm using Ad-Aware.
Everytime I run the prog it finds Spy-ware, even if I'm not using the internet.
I always delete what Ad-Aware finds but there seems to be something on my PC that Ad-Aware can't spot....??
Any suggestions??

I find that Spybot:S&D is a bit better than AdAware. It tends to find more stuff. One of the best freeware progs I've ever seen. Here's the website: http://security.kolla.de/

hmm... I have now tried Ad-Aware aswell as Spybot and although they are finding parasites and delete them, the popup with the parasite warning at CGEF still apears.
Must be a tricky one........

Anyway, the message says:

Your system is infected with:
NewDotNet/B (info)

Has anyone any other suggestions???
...thanks AdAM

NewDotNet is awful spyware. Dont delete it or it will block your Internet connection.

for more information just search with Google and you'll find help sites like this

you could get this spyware with very popular program Kazaa so if you have it, unistall it.

Don't use Kazaa, use Kazaalite, it's spyware free whereas Kazaa now comes with some awful spyware.

Get Crazy Browser, the pop-up blocker for Internet Explorer. And also get Spybot, it works really great. However, it has problems removing Hotbar stuff.

Margarita:

You've got all of those even though you ran AdAware?  My AdAware removed "CommonName", "flash Track" and "hotbar". And yes it's true.

The problem is _I_dont_have_all spyware on that list but Warning says I _do_ have it. imagine what my comp would be if i had Lop Hotbar and NewDotNet at the same time. i know NewDotNet because i had it before and i'm 100% sure i don't have it now. odd.
i enabled XP firewall maybe it will help...
*goes to CGEF to check*
i still get the Warning. *shrugs*

I fixed the info links some hours ago. It's a bit weird that you get about half of the checked for parasites but not the others. Maybe something weird with your java script or a plug in that screws with the loading of others. If you ran SpyBot and Ad-aware, just click the "ignore" next time around.

Firewall has nothing to do with spyware, it won't protect you from getting it.

Margy, if the thing in CGEF picks it all up, then AdAware must be able to find something? It does sound odd.

No, but it wuld prevent the spyware programs to report back to their originator about your habits. At Least that's my understanding.

I found this thread and downloaded AdAware.  I removed lots of parasite things.  Only now, I seem to have become a lot less articulate and I can't play the holophonor very well...
