Future Futurama

This is not about my site, but my opinion, and the general disscusion about Futurama, and it's future.

Why didn't you just post it here so people can read it easily ... but still - opinion then:
In your whole argument you completely forget FOX's history and track record of handling Futurama. Say ... timeslot? Promotion? These things have to be included in your view on the world at some point. 

Fox has forgotten about Futurama: FALSE!
Does anyone else realize hatred and anger, is nothing but the product of rumors and propoganda? What is the matter with you people? I am sorry, but higher ups of the Futurama community, are only molding you all to their will!

I'll have to see myself as one of the higher ups   
How do you expect me to act when I get mail by producers of the show telling me that it is probably time to do something now to make sure that FOX didn't forget Futurama when they draw their new Fall line up? Tell them that FOX knows it all and we don't need to worry because they are good of heart? Sorry, does not compute.

That's the basic idea about both PEEL and the CGEF comment thing. With CGEF I'm trying to form and support opinions. That's the thing publishing is meant to do. But we encourage others to have their say on the topic. Tolerance does however not mean that differing opinions are to be assessed as equally right. 

1) Futurama has NOT been canceled: TRUE!
2) Networks are now working towards airing some programming durring the Summer reruns, with new episodes to attract more viewers: TRUE!
3) Neither King of the Hill nor The Simpsons had extra episodes ordered that had not been aired: TRUE!
4) By boycoting Fox, you boycot the foundation to the Matt Groening empire, The Simpsons: TRUE!

1) Depends on what you mean. The production was cancelled last year. Ask Sarge on this board. He's working elsewhere now. I know of plenty others (many went back to the Simpsons). The window of reemploying them is closing
2) FOX Sunday will introduce "The Pitts" and "Oliver Beene" in March. This won't make Futurama's prospects any better. If they air off the other episodes in summer that is not going to get production up again either.
3) Hu? I've not seen many "superiors" claiming that episodes might never air. They will air at some point.
4) Same here. None of those you refer to here asked people to boycott FOX.

One hint: Try dropping that "everyone hates me and is only out to insult me" tone. I hardly know you and most others don't care about you (really). You're just asking people to start disliking you for the selfobsessed theme if you go on like that.

Yes, I CAN think for myself.  I rarely give a shit what the PEEL higher-ups think.  And yes, I AM optimistic that FOX will renew Futurama.  However their mistreatment of the show over the last few years is plain for anyone to see, and not propoganda on the part of CGEF or anyone else.

It was FOX who shifted Futurama to 7:00pm.  It was FOX who kept pre-empting Futurama with football matches.  And it was FOX who failed to promote the series.  I'm still optimistic that Futurama will be renewed, but I understand entirely why most PEELers are pissed off and pessimistic about it.  If you don't, of if you still think this is some CGEF/PEEL conspiracy, then you're an idiot.

Fox call it hiatus
For Newscorp that's cancellation, TV show death.

Only one program has ever come back from the TV show holiday Hiatus... Family Guy. and look how crappy it is now, the show was half decent and now its boring!

Even if futurama is renewed, it wont be the same, chances are Matt Groening will be the only original crew member,whoopee!

4) Not everyone has fox, we have foxtel here in Australia, which no1 subscribes to neway, what good will that do? Nothing! Newscorp is a multinational corporation what do they care what a few hardcore fans do, we are a droplet in their viewer ocean!

Give it a rest, they'll either renew it or they wont, not a lot that we can do. Buy the DVDs and let it live in your memory!

I have not been programmed, i think by myself and try not to be influenced by others. This is my opinion as a UK fan:

As will be mentioned Futurama is not technically cancelled, it is on hiatus. This means they are not ordering any more episodes. The Futurama team stopped work just over a year ago now, have they just been sitting there waiting for FOX to order more episodes? They've moved on and have another job and in the real word you don't try and switch from job to job quickly.
In the UK i don't have any access to FOX, so i can't boycot them, but i don't think i would anyway. Channel 4 don't like Futurama either, cutting episodes and then not airing the season finale.

The outlook for Futurama is grim, but i still hope that it won't be cancelled. If it was, why not announce it now? However Futurama isn't likely to be the same as it was before and FOX don't support the show.

Well, first off, I want to thank you all for at least reading my, rant, speach, post, whatever you want to call it. Second of all, to Craig, I didn't think you were insulting me, that is what you think, and that is what I wanted to hear. Third, to Marc, I never said you, and to the readers, never did I say CGEF (personally I love that site, and use it to get my Futurama news), nor PEEL.
Okay kiddies, time for some clarification:
If you think I come off as "asking for it" I do. I am not one who is affraid to speak whatever is on his mind, and I know what could happen if I do so.
People, I'm not going to apologize if anyone came off insulted, because I never intended such. Now if you got the "idea" that I was suggesting CGEF (why the hell would I, I love that site), or PEEL, well, to say it honestly, you were wrong. And for that, I will apologize. Sorry.
Here is the low down: I was angry with the MEDIA!!!!!!! Let's face it, if I were to mention all of the media things I have saved and read at CGEF, I would have to make my whole site the speach.
With the whole, your superiors, I will admit, there are people in this community, who are that, (Marc not you), who, I will not say. They like to threaten, they like to hack harddrives, and steal what is not there's. And when they can't do it themselves, they trick someone else to do it. I should know, I know those who have been attacked by these people. They see themselve as the superiors, and I let them keep that title, along with my alias for them, "Tyrant."
ALSO! People I cannot stress this enough, I didn't mean EVERYONE, I meant those who are. Yeah, it's a little shocking, and perhaps, personally attacking, but for some, it is true. The common reaction is to retaliate. And my words were only of help, too let you know, not to get caught up in the "hooplah."
Who might you ask? A letter I read in issue # 11, or some of the posts on CGEF's opinions page. And personanlly, I love humanity, and the personal drawings I saw of Rupert being stabbed, I thought were, if so, a bad joke, and really, quite barbaric.

And, finally, to Leandro, I know you will be reading this, when you see the subject is back up there on the list, move on. If you really hate me so much, then just move on. I did, now why can't you? I don't post things about you.

Once again, thank you all for reading my post, I will reitterate, it was JUST MY opinion, nothing else. If you came off insulted, too bad, and your posts on your opinion are WHAT I wanted to see. But unfortunately, the ones I'm trying too help, I do not think they are regulars to PEEL.
PS: Marc, you are a cool, and have a cool site. PEEL, you are good to post my opinion, thank you.

Well, to answer your hacker/cracker question, basically, these Tyrants I speak of, have attacked. When I started to mouth off to them how they can't do what they are doing to the community, they retaliated, the only way they knew how. Now, I agree, they do need to learn social skills, seeing as that is all they can do in life, type on a keyboard.
Now how this relates to the Future of Futurama is more of a sub text. If you are ever unlucky enough to meet one of these tyrants online, and express a different opinion about what they think, they find it funny, to crash your harddrive, steal private information, and even implant a virus or two.
Sure, I have been hacked, and I know whom it was. But all I did, was rebuild my hard drive again, and go on.
Once again, I stretch out a warning. You have your good people, Marc, Tweek, Juli, Paul, Andy, and many more, but hiding within these ranks, is the tyrants that do all they can to control whom they have grown close too.
"HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE MY FRIEND!"
Well, who did the bigger atrocity, me, or whom ever let their friend hack their way to a lower standard?
So to sum it ALL up, you have media idiots who need a story and say (all of the suddend), Futurama is canceled. And finally, you have the idiots who choose to use their computer knowlege for illeagal use. And seeing as those hackers/crackers are already unstable due to a lack of real life social interactions, they believe those media jerkwads.
Oh, and by the way, I used to be friends with one of these tyrants. And by telling that one off, well, I knew what might happen, and it did. But he sure did a lot to me, he ruined my life oh-so drastically I found my self at his mercy with his out reach for the inner feeling of ego.
Oh, just in case I wasn't clear enough, the last two sentences were that of sarcasm.
