Well. I know it might be a bet tedious for the lot of you to just see me posting in this thread just to announce my general everyday updates, but this is a rather big one.

Ive revamped and decorated the place this time. I need some feedback on the design..

Looks fine to me, but then again I use 1280*1024. That could be the reason.

Looks good, static. Nothing fancy, yet apropriate for the site. [insert thumbs-up smilie here]

BTW, I was looking through your links site. Can it really be that there isn't a single Swedish Futurama-site worth mentioning (Besides yours, ofcourse)?

hmm. i actually have no idea. but why would i want to even bother with a swedish site? The show is in english, and so i think the good sites would then have to be in english as well.

And my site isnt really that futurama related in itself... more of a PEEL fansite i thinks..

PlanetEkspress.dk is a Danish website, yet it's written in English. I was simply wondering whether there where similar sites in Sweden (I'm always on the look-out for news sites to poke through   ;))

I'm even browsing two Russian sites (written in Russian, so I have to use a translator).

yeah.. i suppose you got a point there.
i think ill take a peek through google or something.
mayhaps there actually is some swedish futurama sites somewhere...
i mean.. just because im the only fecking swede that posts on this forum doesnt HAVE to mean that im the only swede that cares about the show, right?

/edit

during the 2 minute searching (which is just about as much as i will dedicate to this task)i found that Aslate's Fry Online was created by The Real-Fry, last seen sometime WAY back here on PEEL, and he's a swede living in our capital city of stockholm.

That site, however, is already linked  ;)

Static, either put a scrollbar in the navigation pane or go back to text links. As it is, it's useless to people with a screen resolution of 800x600 or less (IOW, most people).

mmmmm.
perhaps you are right.

ill add a scrollbar temporarily until i figure out a way to do the site without using frames at all.

I like those buttons, but can see the problems they would cause.

Why don't you have a homepage with two links on it, one to the newly designed site and one to the old site, and just update them both. Sure it would take more effort, but it would be well worth it.

It would take more effort indeed, but the old site is already overwritten so, thats a no-go for this lazy spaceship.

ive added the scrollbar now, so it should at least be functional until i remove the frames alltogether.

Thanks y'all for bringing this up btw.

The scrollbar helps alot, although I still liked the icons better.  Also....mind if I join the gallery?

Use tables and center it, that's the layout for most sites, and i works for nearly all screen resolutions...

Well. This "only" took 3 hours to do....
the site has been totally reworked, the frames are gone and lost forever, the resolution issue is just that... still an issue, and i need some more feedback.
1, Should i stick with it optimized for 1024x768, but still very much readable for 800x600?

2, Should i shink it down for 800x600 optimized use? The buttons are a bit too big for this resolution though so i would have to rework them to a smaller size as well.

2b, Do what Aslate says and center the whole thing? This would wreck the button layout IMHO, but i'll follow the public opinion i thinks...

Read the News section for additional info...

800X600 works best for me.

yes, but is it OK/readable/useable at the high-res page? I figured that you used 800x600 by your previous postings but i wanna know if it would work with the current one without being too cumbersome or whatever.
This is because im not very keen on the idea of reworking all the buttons again... but, like i said, if public requests it, i will do it anyway.

High res is fine but I prefer 800x600 but it doen't really matter as long as it's readable.

by center, i meant so it comes out like this...
site.jpg

See it works in 800x600 (I HATE this, but people use it), 1024x768 and 1152x864 (My favourite).
And as it is centered, it looks ok in all 3, but it may not suit your needs.

PCC Fred, what resolution do you use, i find that 800x600 is way to small, and most sites, although designed to work with 800x600 look better with a higher resolution.
Slight point, perhaps making the buttons a bit smaller (in width) would be useful.
I also wondered why i got this
'The Webmaster of Fry Online. Read in the Links section for more info about the site.
Surprisingly, he's also one of the youngest members of PEEL.'
Is it the fact that i'm a webmaster and so young or just i don't seem that young to any of you?
Anyway, you can keep it on, just wondered.

Static, i've done a quick mock-up for you of how i think would suit 800x600 users aswell (using tables). It didn't take me more then half-hour to edit your script to this (for two pages), so i don't know why it may have taken you so long (maybe you weren't used to tables). Anyway, i've done the main page and Gallery light only, not loads of free time, i do have school still...
