Maybe I'm just being ignorant, here, but...

Wouldn't a PEEL app always be in need of updating because of the constant change of mobile phone technology?
How about the value of PEEL? Would it be degraded?!
I, mean, if one has access to it all the time?

In short: Aren't you afraid of becoming PEEL junkies?!? O.O

Creating a mobile site is a far better alternative, because you can support all platforms without making two or three applications for different platforms.  Furthermore, some of these platforms requires money to get the application in their Store or even available for their phone.

So it is a waste of time and money for such a low priority website.  It might make sense if you are Facebook or Wikipedia (although I don't think Wikipedia has an official app), but not for this one.

And I am not hearing anyone complain about lack of integration with their mobile phones, which - honestly - I can live with.

I only PEEL from my phone ducky, so it isn't an issue for me. Just gotta have the right (free) internet browser application, in this case Opera mini.

Been playing around with a CSS file for a mobile version of PEEL, I've tried to make it CSS only (setting some classes to display:none, changing the font-size's, simple things like that) but I ended up hacking some <td>'s out of the thread list page (the Replies/Views etc. columns), but I haven't done anything for threads pages yet...

Trying to get it similar to this layout: http://touch.boards.ie/

Files I've been playing with:
