Hahah. I'd consider getting an iPhone if there was a PEEL app. As well as a couple of other things. But a PEEL app would be a big step in the right direction.

That would be good, an iPhone/ iPod Touch app. Because the forum is really hard to use on my iPod Touch.

What exactly would this PEEL App do?  If so, I might spend the time to create such a ... scratch that... with blackjack... and umm... hookers.

Instead of a peel app, they could make an app which has many of the major Futurama fan sites currently on the web, such as the Futurama Madhouse and CGEF.

How about if mArc can use this theme for smart phone users:
http://www.farfromperfection.com/smf4iphone.html

It has no support now (well, there's a thread at SMF), and apparently doesn't work with the latest versions of SMF, but I think PEEL uses an old version.

Well, this is just an idea, I don't know if this can be done without spending a lot of time.. and I don't even have a smartphone :laff:

PEEL works alright on my iPhone, but I admit it could be nicer. P22L works on it much better than 1.0 did. It would be cool if there was a PEEL app, and I'd probably post more often if there was, but alas it's not exactly essential to my existence.

Nothing coming from my side due to time constraints...

The SMF theme Javier mentioned does not work with this version of SMF.

Try the lofi-versions if full Peel does not work well enough for the iPhone:

He was planning one before he got all employed on our asses, so he scrapped it!
I can only get the WAP version of PEEL on my Samsung Dolfin browser, can't seem to get the full version at all.

It isn't bad on the Blackberry but it would be cool to get notifications and have a button for it on the home screen.

Instead of an app, maybe it would be easier to just make an iPhone- friendly mobile version of peel.

There's absolutely no need to write a native Cocoa Touch app for it. It most likely wouldn't get approved, in any case.

A smartphone-optimised web app version would be the way to go - along the same lines as the Google mobile iterations of its suite of applications. That way, it wouldn't just be limited to iPhones and iPod Touches - owners of inferior smartphones could use it, too. The mobile optimised version of Google Reader works great on my phone. PEEL is a nightmare.

You can use Windows to develop for iPhone- if you are prepared to jailbreak your device.

Oh, and also, I believe it would be quite easy to develop a Peel app for Android and Symbian OS (The OS current Nokia phones use), as both companies have IDE's that require no programming experience.

A PEEL app would be absolutely awesome! I can't open spoilers, and I can't select the Bold Button, so I have to actually type it out...:hmpf:

I always type out the bold and spoiler tags myself anyway, it seems faster than going into advanced reply and clicking it anyway.

Learn UBB. It makes everything so much easier on here. Also, what kind of phone do you have where you can't open spoilers? A PEEL app would appear on smart phones, where there shouldn't be much of an issue with that.

A way you can remember is to look at the "Pages:" at the bottom of the last post, the number of the page is surrounded by [ ] brackets, these are the ones you use.

UBB is the code system used on PEEL. When you go into Advanced and click on things, it spits out what you want in that system. There's also an explanation of what PEEL allows for in this code on the Wiki. Live it, learn it, love it.
