I visited TFP just recently.... I don't go through futurama sites like I used to.  I just wanted to compliment you on TFP Javier... It's always had a great layout... possibly what I'd say is the best, and thank you for keeping the machine turning all these years.  You're pretty awesome Javier.  :)

Thanks a lot winna  :), I really appreciate your comment... is has been kinda hard to keep the site alive because of the hosting problems I had in the past, but now is kinda good (with some perhaps unnoticed problems).

About the layout, I always like to create new ones (and I like the current one  :p), I think I'll create a new one for the 9th birthday of the site..

Bump!
Sorry for the double post, but i've some news about TFP.

I'm about to release the new design of TFP, #13 to be specific.. I was wondering if you want to give your opinions to improve the new design:
http://slurmed.com

New features:
  • Slidershow at the top of the site (it has only one, and not working, for the moment)
  • Fixed or Wide design... you can choose one with the and buttons, at the top left of the content box.
  • You can show/hide the main sections of the site clicking over the headers (info, media, budds...)
  • 3 top buttons for quick access to the news, movies and rss pages of the site

Notice that:
  • I've not yet compressed some of the images
  • I've not improved some JavaScript and CSS
  • I had to use tables because IE6 = Hell (and lots of people that visit TFP use IE6, I dunno why)
  • Some images and budds could be missing
  • You must use the ?p=news13 if you wanna see the news correctly for the moment

I wanted a green design because I missed the old days when TFP was green.. and somehow because is a ecological color. Is supposed to be a bluish green, but in CRT screens looks kinda greener. I like the green, but I want to hear opinions about the color.

I don't decide, should I leave the titles backwards, like this: section . futurama point or author . section . futurama point   ... or like I have them right now: futurama point . section . author

Well, any suggestion, weird stuff or comment is welcome as usual.. this is kinda my xmas present for all the TFP visitors (I also have a new xmas wallpaper that I'm working on :p)

JavieR I like it! It is a big difference from the previous design and it somehow fits with the new movie...nah just a coincidence. I can't wait until it is fully up! It will give me something new to look at. :)

It looks pretty clutch.  And all the new interactive features (I assume they're new) like closing up the sections is hella cool, along with the fixed width and wide width options.  All the graphics are clean and professional as always.

I'm not a huge fan of the green.... I usually prefer darker greens especially when they have as much open space, but that's a personal thing, it's not bad.  I really like the different shades of grey however; like used to border out the news posts.

I'm not sure what you mean on the title orders.... like the futurama point . section . author thing.... I'd happily give an opinion if I knew what I was looking for.

Overall, a great job as always Javier, and I'd love to see it with the slidershow working. :)

Thanks a lot to both of you, I tried to create something new for the site. I'm glad you liked the new layout.

Well, I know not everyone likes green, but it was a color that looked good with the shades of grey.

I was talking about the title of each section, for example, this page:
http://slurmed.com/?p=pixelart/@pixelart&name=javier&pag=1
has the title: [ The Futurama Point ::  Pixel Art :: JavieR ]

I want to change it backwards: javier . pixel art . futurama point
Or I could leave it like it is today:  futurama point . pixel art . javier

So, I'm not sure of which one yet..

I think I prefer Site title, section title, author best.  It feels more like flowing down a directory in my mind.

 [Important Edit]
I've problems reaching TFP from my country, Ecuador (and I can't update it for the moment). If someone that is not in USA, Canada, Mexico or Australia can let me know if the site is loading fine and with no delay, it would be great.

I don't know if is a problem only in my ISP, my country, or the access from South America. It doesn't seems to be the hosting, but I want to check the access to the site elsewhere before I complaint.

So, is official, I have released the Layout #13 of TFP - The Futurama Point:
http://slurmed.com

Any word is welcome!

I kept the titles like that, i dunno if change it them backwards could be better or worst for search engines, better safe than sorry (at least for now :p).

I tried to decode the binary for a secret message but was severely disappointed.

Well, there's no secret message, only a freaking problem, I added the binary code randomly

The Futurama Point (slurmed.com) is back online. If you check the latest news there, you'll see that the site was sending unwanted spam without my knowledge

===

More news... sad news for TFP. The site is now temporally not indexed in Google because of the problem, I've already fixed everything and the site is in reconsideration to Google.. but is gonna take a while, and this will narrow down the site's visitors and perhaps the Google Rank :hmpf:, I really hope no because I already had that problem when I changed the domain to http://slurmed.com
