***BEFORE YOU VOTE, PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST!***

I'm in the process of making a site for which I will record songs from Futurama and have them available for download as *.mp3 files.

I've come up with a few titles either by me or other people's suggestions: fTunes (parodying Mac's iTunes service), MHOP (based on the Metropolitan House of Opera from TDHAIP), Musicrama, or you can suggest your own.

When other people suggest names, I will post them here, in this message, and if you like one, choose other and tell me your choice in your post.

SUGGESTIONS:
  • FuTunesRama by HungryZoid
  • Tunes-a-rama by Nixorbo
  • Honest Bender's Quality Used Legal MP3s by Nixorbo
  • Welcome to the Tunes of Tomorrow! by Nixorbo
  • Kidnappster by Nixorbo
  • Futurama Frequency by Otis P Jivefunk

fTunes has a certain classyness, MHOP sounds like Metropilitan House Of Pancakes to me... :\

MHOP, which was the first thing you contacted me with.  Which reminds me, I still have those thumbnails if you end up needing them.

you mean this? those mp3s are so low quality it almost hurts.

my site would have every song in the show in high quality, you  could request other songs, and it would have the information for every song, lyrics, singers, episode, etc.

Tunes-a-rama.

Simplicity.
("Simplicity" is not a suggestion, but rather a description of my actual suggestion.)

On a non-simple note:
Honest Bender's Quality Used Legal MP3s

that would be interesting with the Bender them

it could be like bender the tape recorder face thingy and the content could be in his chest cabinet

that would be a hard thing to do but its a good idea

although I think I like fTunes for now

Yeah I kinda like that too... either that or the musicarama... to be extra nerdy, it would be µsicarama  ;)

Anyways, good luck to you Zeep, this sounds like it'll be a kick-ass site.  :D

I dont know quite how Zeep will do it
but if that was my job I'd use Polderbits sound recorder and editor
then when your recording you just change the record source to "master source" and while you playing the DVD you record the songs, quotes or whatever you want to record then you take it to the editor and have fun with it
but for our web site we'll have to fiddle around with the files to make it compatible for Windows Media, Music Match Jukebox, iTunes, Apollo, JetAudio, WinAMP, wxMusik, GenericPlayer, WinAMP3, The Core Media Player, foobar2000, Mediamonkey, JRiverMediaCenter, and Sonique (I'm a DJ I've tried just about all of them iTunes is the best) but if we dont want the huge hassle of dubbling files and changing the program type we could just make all the songs quicktime songs without the download.

Well anyway its not going to be my job so I'll let Zeep decide oh how he's going to do it.

how can you think that the CGEF sounds are really good? unless they've recorded new sounds, because when i downloaded them, they had a very low bit rate, meaning very low quality.

they way i do it, is using my mp3 player. i plug the headphone jack of my computer into the line injack of my mp3 player. i can set it to record, and i can specify the bit rate and audio sample rate (i think i used 128kbps and 44khz). the songs are recorded onto my mp3 player, and then i can transfer them to my computer.

one other useful thing i can do is pause recording. you know how the opera in TDHAIP has a big gap in the middle for the intermission? i can pause recording for that part, and get the entire opera in one song. that was the first song i recorded, in fact.

unfortunately, i don't have any samples right now, because my laptp broke down recently and i had to reformat my hard drive. but as soon as i get some songs, i give you some examples.

wow thats an interesting way of doing that
concidering the low quality of ear phones being put into an external device
thats like recording on a tape recorder...not such a good idea but we'll have to do like debate, were we record the same song and see which is better

know it a bit weird way of recording, buttrust me: it seemed pretty damn good quality to me. but we'll compare some other time.

about the theme, fTunes still does have the most votes. but i do like Honest Bender's Quality Used Legal MP3s. we'll see. it'll still be a while before we have a host.

Alltoons sucks, plain and simple. They kicked my site off their server for "illegal content" and a whole host of their original sites that helped found it after a takeover. I hope they collapse.

Also, why don't you just do a DVD audio rip?

Hey will you do something like they did here http://www.cartoonesque.com/futurama/musiques.php
and also put in the real songs used in the show? Or if that's too illegal then wil you mention or say what they are or something like they did here? (Beware, the site's French)
